  1. I have a Auto Grant on the DRO's desk awaiting a decision and I have introduced a nexus letter that should grant me the award. As of this morning I have withdrawn or stopped my DRO decision review so that I may receive the new $18,900 Auto Grant rather be awarded the old $11,000 Auto Grant. This new Auto Grant of $18,900 does not go into effect till October 1st, 2011. If you are granted the Auto Grant before the date of October 1st, 2011 you will not be awarded the new V.A 2010 Auto Grant. Please take this into consideration if you have applied for this V.A. benefit. I will reapply for the Auto Grant after October 1st, 2011. My service officer said I have one year to reapply for this grant. I hope this helps other veterans.
