I was rated 0 percent until my appealed was finished and received my 70 percent in March 2012 The retro pay me on the date I filed my claimed which was 2009. My psychiatrist letter helped a lot and I am still being treated by him and also seeing a therapist. I was also in the mental clinic,but not for long because I did not like staying in there, so their is no fraud. I truly have PTSD. I have a purple heart under my belt. I can ask a former collegue of mine who has access to my reason being of termination. i worked as a civilian detective,so finding out would not be a problem. I just want to make sure it doesnott hinder my percentage. The incident happen before I received my rating; however I waited since 2009 for my appeal because the VA had to make new appointments for my exam. I will go for the IU. I know my psychiatrist can write a letter for me being unfit to work.

Hello All, I may be eligible for 100 percent disability because I'm over 70 percent disabled and I have been unemployed since Jun of 2011. I started to recieve my compensation this past March. Now here is the drawback. I got fired from my job because I distributed a control 3 substance to a soldier that was not allowed to have it. The only reason I was fired is because I gave the substance inside a military installation. I was not selling it. I'm located in Germany so the laws are somewhat different. I was interviewed by C.I.D. and the case was turned over to the german authorities because I'm a civilian.I was never convicted or had to stand in front of judge. The only thing I had to do was pay a fine and that has already been paid. I researched if you apply for I.U the VA will send a letter to my old job and ask why was I fired. I'm assuming they will state the reason. I'm not worried about not getting the 100 percent, but losing all my benifits because of this action. Will I lose my disability money if the VA finds out I was fired due to distributing a control 3 substance. My psychiatrist can also write a letter to VA for being unfit to work. I have PTSD so it's really hard for me to find a job.

Yes I understand, but the question in doubht will this effect my rating for the reason why I'm unemployed. Does VA do a back ground check. I'm not a convicted felon, just made a mistake.

Last month I received retorpay(since 2009) for my claim and was rated @ 70 percent for PTSD. In the letter it states that I can apply for Individual Unemployability to receive 100 percent. I have been unemployed for 10 months now. Now here is the tricky part I'm unemployed because I helped a person on two ocassions obtained anabolic steroids. I was working DOD at the time and had gave it to a military soldier on a military installation. I was not convicted; however I lost my job and was barred for a year from the military installation. I'm located overseas in germany, so laws apply different for civilians in germany. My question is I want to apply for the IU; however I'm a little bit hesistant because I have no clue if this will affect my percentage or they will call my old job and find out why I lost my job. I would rather apply because for the IU because I feel like I can not work because of my PTSD issues. Should I apply for IU or just leave it alone

I talked to VA and they said that departmemt of treasury sent the funds to my USAA, but i have not received it, should I be worried??

I called my bank and they have no pending payments. I can not wait 20 minutes on the phone as I live overseas.

I know im posting this in the wrong site, but anyways i get bah for my gi bill... My first check was end of december, but they made a mistake and sent it to my wrong bank account( closed account) . They updated my direct deposit on the 30 of Dec to my USAA account. Today is the 1rst of Feb amd I have yet reveived my direct deposit. Now i talk to an old army collegue and he received his @ 4 am today...does it take time for the funds to come in. I can not chevk my closed bank online because its closed. I call VA education, but as always long waiting to talk to a rep!!

this is more frustrating then i expected Well I called the VA and they actually have an appeal from which I did back in 2009 I believe. This was for the PTSD and the tinnitus because I never had an exam done and the only claim they have in the record is the scar on my arm which I claim for in 2010 Now my question is will everything get reevaluated since I did my PTSD and tinnitus exam this year feb 2011. I don't think none of my exams have been submitted yet by the QTC examiners to the VA because the appeal is still there and the muscle scar tissue is still pending.. Please let me know your thoughts... Thank you

anyone got a hotline that I can call?

I try calling the hotline number twice in the last 2weeks and the recorded message saids they can not access my record at this time. WTH.... My last c&p was in feb. and I been waiting 2 months of the results. Check my mail regualr and nothing. Everything was done QTC. Please do not tell me I need to go to VAMC or the VARO because I'm overseas and we do not have one. I mean my claim number is my social right? It's getting frustrating because I'm getting in a deep end with my financial crisis. My VFW rep told me he will do system and that was last month. I try contacing him several times and no reply back. Oh yeh ebenifits. well I need a premiuim account to check status, but sonce I do not have a VARO. I'm screwed out of that one.

can I use a 21-4142 to fax to VA to obtain my c-file? anyone had the fax number much appreciate

i as him if he will give me a copy of the c&p, but he said I have to request copy from VA, but I live overseas so there is no vmac. Who do I contact or should I say, who has the poc number. thank you

is it normal to have an exam w/500 questions in them. this sucked for me cause it was hard for me to concentrate and i know a lot of this questions are the same, but in different sentence. i just hated it because i was so edgy and anxious that I wanted to zoom by those questions. one part was 117 questions (i think) and the second part was like 340 questions. my whole c&p exam took about 5 hours, but it went by so quick i did not realize the time. i also stated in my previous post on where can i obtain my c&p resultsl but no one has told me.

Papa did you request to get copies through VA? Well the examiner told me I'm @ least 20-30 percent for just having a purple heart. I did ask the examiner for a GAF, but he would not tell me until he looks at my questionnaire. I guess I have to play the waiting game. Thanks bORI

well after 4 and a half hours . I finish my exam. it was a long tedious process especially the questionaire. Just to to long. The examiner was straight foward and even help me out at times, but of course he said that all he can do is write and it's all in the raters hand, but he does see a rating. by the way where can I request copies of my exam when it's all done? and how long I have to wait before I can get my results?

5 more hours and I will be in the examiners office doing my c/p mental exam. i stayed up till 4 in the morning because i was thinking about this day. wasn't nervous until now, I'm getting pretty anxious. good thing wife is coming, but same time it be tough because i would have to share my experience of iraq which i do not like to talk about. been almost 7 years since I felt the heat of iraq; yet i can feel it every single breathing day. on a good note I heard nothing but good things about the examiner, but do not want to be naive about it. I will be open, but I hope I won't go in one of my outburst spells. No I will not. I know they are there to help. I wish I can get of my meds 4ever. Bori

4 more days till c&p mental exam... got my bag of medication ready to show to the doc... can't wait till the day is ended... 3 hours hope I can bare it and at the same time tapering off a med to get on another. feeling edgy...

I was thinking if I should give it a shot to put a claim in for sleep apnea... I know for a fact no sleepng disorder is in my SMR, but I heard PTSD and meds is also a cause for sleep apnea. My wife wakes me up just about everynight because I breath so shallow and snor and disturbing her sleep and mines as well. I have never snor or had problems in breathing while in the service. I filed 3 claims and my last exam will be end of this month (PTSD) now should I wait till I get my rating for my claims or should I go ahead and still claim for sleep apne

yes Carlie I understand with purple heart that is my stressor.. it's stated in my request form from VA.. veteran was awarded PH and stressor are conced.. someone I know took the c&p exam by the same doctor and he said the longest is the questinnare which took about 3 hours long total.. be nice to have all those questions..

as of right now I do not have a rating. I requested my records from st.Louis, but I can tell you that there be nothing in my records of PTSD because I got out 2 months after coming back from Iraq. I did foward a statement letter from my psy doc to my examiner and to the VA. this was about a week ago..

my question is this... why would VA give me a hard time in the beginning when I have a purple heart and I'm service connected. They keep telling me my claim is still in appeal. it's been appeal since 09.. I keep sending evidence.. I would figure they would give me a rating before a C&P.. obviously my stressos was the mortar attack..why can't I just get my rating..
