  1. Oh I have contacted the national office and went on a rant and you know what they did had the stupid guy that was my rep call me.. WTF he doesn't want to help me and you are sending me back to him!? OMG what a waste....LOL
  2. Just got back from my C&P was supposed to be at the end of September but they had an opneing and called me and I got seent his morning. The lady felt sorry for me because all the crap she had to do to me hurt and I was in pain so she did my range of motions then said I can handle all the paperowkr from here since you were so detailed in yoru reposnes, oh and of course she also talked to me first but she didn't want me to sit there and have to wait on her to fill all the bubbles in.. So all in all I think it went well, especially considering I wasn't feeling well at all today and my range of motion was almost at the worst it has been in a few weeks. Here is to hoping. I finally got ahold of the guy and he was a compelte jerk to me.. Pissed me off to the point of no return so I have everythign filled out and will be mailing in all my own documents as well as all the 21-4142' in case they want to see if there is anything else. Screw that guy. I have gotten my 60% all on my own with very little help from him. He seriously has been no help and I have done all the paperwork,m less the initial filing. Ugh. Sometimes people just really rub me the wrong way and it doesn't help that I am in pain right now.
  3. OK I was awarded the following in Oct. 2007: 1) thoracic strain with degenerative joint disease (DJD) 10% 2) right shoulder strain 10% 3 )cervical strain 10% I started going back to physical therapy because pain medication just wasn't cutting it and neither were the muscle relaxers. So I decided to go to the VA. Bad idea after 4 trips to the VA PT they put me in traction and the next day I couldn't feel my right arm or fingers. So needless to say I have been seeing docs ever since. The keep telling me it is my neck then I was told it was my shoulder, then I was told it is both of them and now I have been diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS). however I still have all the shoulder problems. So I file my claim and i send all my medical reports to my DAV rep, who has yet to send in anything..... Now I have the VA asking for all my docs records (which is easier if I send in). Telling me I was previsoulsy denied for my right hand injury (even though the numbess and all that in my arm and had is NOT related to the injury they are referring to at all) then asking for eveidene that this all existed from military time to present. I can't get a call back from my DAV person nor will he respond to my emails and he is always magically busy when I call. So I don't know what to do..... Any and all help is appreciated. Can i go to a different organization such as the VFW where my husband now goes or is it too late now that someone is already my POA??
  4. The VA first did an x-ray and said all was good and put me on pain pills and anti-inflammatory meds. Then I started physical therapy and then one day after physical therapy I couldn't feel my right arm, so I went to the VA ER where they gave me the MRI. Report doens't state anything about a tear and they sent me on my way with more narcotics and anti-inflammtory meds. I went to the Ortho doc and he said there is some bulging and he thinks I have a pinched nerve, which is why I got the MRI of my brachial plexus. Nothing was seen on it either. So I get to the Spine Hospital and he tells me what is wrong with me. He never stated whether he saw it on the MRI or not. He said I do have the bulging at C7/t1 and a tear at C5 So I will look up that stuff and see if I can find anything out... I will also ask the doc if he saw it on the MRI itself.
  5. I just had the injection in my neck yesterday. My doctor (not at the VA) said it probably would not help since it has been liek this for so long, that it wont heal on its own. I too have the pain under my shoulder blade and on top of my shoulder and down my arm.. It sucks.. So an increase on the cervical strain issue. Thanks so much for your input!
  6. in 2007 I was awarded 10% for a cervical strain, 10% for shoulder strain and 10% for DDD. I had a flare up of issues although I have always hurt. I have a copy of all my PT while I was in from 2001-2005 and I was seeing a VA PT for 2 months, doing traction and stretches. One day I woke up and I was in sever pain a few days later I couldn't feel my R arm or pinky and ring finger. So I went to the VA ER , since it is service connected. BIG MISTAKE! I had an MRI done and they said I had nothing wrong with me, in the ER paperwork he stated I had pain whil unrinating, never even talked about urinating and didn't have any pain when I did pee.. So I got the next day and get a copy of my MRI because I know something is wrong. I get it as well as the MRI report. It says I have bulging at C-7/t-1 so I make an appointment with a orth sport medicine doc to see if he can see something. He puts me on lyrica while I await an MRI of my brachial Plexus. I do that and everything looks ok but I am still in pain going on 8 years with severe pain going on about 5 months now. He can't do anything for me since I have done it all, all anti-inflammatory, pain meds, chiropractor, massage, you name it I have done it. So he sent me to the spine hospital and I went yesterday and he told me I had an annular tear at C5, which no one has ever said anythign about and it is causing the problem. He said I have most likely had it all this time and it has not healed on its own and I may need surgery, we did an epidural injection yesterday and I am dying today and my arms were numb all last night. My question is should I file for an increase on the claims I already have or file for a new issue and how do I even go about doing that?
  7. Good luck! It really does help to talk to someone. Keep us posted if you need anything
  8. I currently am geting 10% for the following issues that are currently aggrivated: neck strain, degenerative joint desease, shoulder strain. I have been going to physical therapy to help this as well as a chiropracter. I have tried acupuncture traction, heat and ice, pain meds, lyrica (Max dose), anit-inflamatory. Went to the VA ER because I couldn't feel my arm or hand and he told me nothing was wrong. So I got a copy of the MRI (only to find out I had bulding at c-7/t-1 and made an appointment with an ortho doc and they got me another MRI of my brachial plexus. They haven't been able to find the cause of the numbess or pain. In the beginning they beleived it was muscular issues, but since nothing has been working they beleive it is a nerve. It was injured in 2003 and now it is getting worse. I can't even run work out or anything because the next day I will be out for at least a week, not bale to turn my neck, unable to feel my arm and I cant grasp anythign let alone hug my children. What do I need to do to start the paperwork and ensure they give me my increase....I will be doing an epidural injection next week to see if this helps at a spine hospital.
  9. Oh you didn't upset me the who VA game has upset me. It is so retarded.
  10. I'm sorry I thought I typed 10% for tinitus as the last one. That makes no sense on the whole 60% if I got 30% more. and only 70% if I got 50% more espeically when I am already at 60% with a combined rating of 50%... Am I the only one that is taken aback a little? That doesn't seem quite legal to me.. the issues all all different so how can they be combined? my PTSD and my knee injuries didn't occur at the same time and they don't affect eachother so.. UGh the VA is always trying to screw us over. Makes no sense after all the crap we did and still do for them! This just makes me even more angry. Ok new question though... If I was at 40% since 2007 and then they gave me 10% for tinitus later down the road which put me at 50% (where I am now) since my PTSD has been pending since 2007 do they back pay me to 2007 for being already rated at 50% or do they back pay me to 40% for all the way back to 2007 then change it to 50% back pay from October 2010 to now? Does my statement even make sense?? I think the VA has officially lost my mind now...
  11. and it starts off with the most disabling condition then works its wawy down your disabilities? so would I put the PTSD first then the others since they aren't as bad as the PTSD? I am so lost. Here is my list of disabilities: 10% DJD 10% right shoulder strain 10% cervical strain 10% Left knee 10% Right knee and whatever I get for PTSD - 30-50%
  12. Ok I have a rating of 60% with a combined rating of 50% right now.. so if I got 50% that would be 110% with a combined rating of???
  13. My husband and I were thinking 30-50% as well. Yes the most important thing is the SC which I have been fighting since I started this all back in 2007... So with my 50% if I were to get the 50% for the PTSD, I would then be at 100%? Is that correct? or even if I got 30% I would be at 80%? I just think the validation for me was when it said it was due to service connection in the C&P. That made it finally sink in that they were listening to me.
  14. I had my C&P on March 17, at the VA hosp. I went in and requested a copy and they sent the request to Muskogee. Got my C&P copy in the mail today. Here is what it says in the Diagnosis: Axis I: Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Major Depressions, reccurrent, moderate Axis II: V71.09 no diagnosis Axis III: See Medical records for complete list. Neck Paind, joint pain, lower legs. Axis IV: Lack of Social Support Axis V: Global Assessment of functioning would be a 55. Discussion: I present with PTSD Symptoms including persistent re-experiencing of traumatic event, efforts to avoid stimuli associated with trauma, and symptoms of arousal. My PTSD symptoms have been present and documented through the VA since 2006. I also present with a hustory of depression that is moderate to severe in nature and emarged at the same time has post-trauma symptoms. My claimed stressors are related to fear of in-service hostile military or terrorist activity. I report significant impairment, most notably home life; I do report some decreases in work efficientt as evidenced by not being able to concentrate or get a long with co-workers. I state, for example, at home I am too tired and i have to let my husband take over and I isolate and stay away from my children. I should mention my husband receives 50% disability for PTSD and his GAF was 55 as well and he went to a QTC location instead of a VA hospital. Do you guys think this looks good for me? It has taken me since 2007 to even get them to give me a C&P so this to me looks good, but I don't know....
