  1. Something I forgot to mention is when I was rated 30% for asthma I was also rated at 0% for atypical chest pain. For keeping the 30% for asthma I see your point; however, morally I will ask for that rating to be removed when I am properly rated for the correct condition(s). I know that may sound naive but I only want what is just. I'd more than happy to keep the 30% if they change the name of it to a condition caused by anxiety.
  2. No C&P for asthma. The person I saw for six weeks while my social worker was out is a doctor and I did check and had my wife double check to make sure she wasn't telling the truth about her being the doctor that does the C&P. Turns out that she told the truth. At the time I started seeing this doctor she was the only female available to work with me while my social worker was out. The only person helping me with my claim is a lady in the ptsd clinic that does nothing but help veterans file claims and get outside assistance. I never got a letter for any C&P.
  3. 2004: forced to go on 10 day field exercise in the middle of winter. I went out with broncitis and was rushed back to the ER 5 days into the field and was told that my broncitis turned to anomia. (the incidents started to happen) 2005: After several months of telling the doctors the asthma meds don't help much they decided I should be discharged. (Which Iwanted out of the Army ASAP) went through peb i think and got my va rating of 30% for asthma in 2005. 2006: 2-24 retired under honorable conditions. several jobs, long periods of unemployment, and relationships later 2010: wife felt something was wrong with me and gave me the choice of seeking help or she would leave. So I was diagnosed with severe anxiety, severe depression, and ptsd. The ptsd clinic helped me file for ptsd and an increase for my asthma. 2011: feb-something during a medical exam for my asthma the doctor was shocked to see my numbers improve as he gave me higher and higher doses to make breathing harder. I told him that ever since I got on meds for ptsd my breathing has got way better. He then asked why my numbers were getting better when they are suppose to decrease with the meds he gave me. Told him I focused on my wife and dissociation. So the longer I sat there the better my breathing got as my mind went wondering off in space. 2011:March I was told by 800# I would receive a C&P for the ptsd. A few weeks later after they got the asthma exam report they canceled by C&P for ptsd. I'm assuming that is why they canceled it. OR it could be due to the fact that my social worker was out for surgery for six weeks and during those six weeks I was seeing the woman that would have done my C&P.
  4. Im 26 years old. My goal for the past two years was to get a job on wright patt since they pay well and very good job security. I don't have a VA lawyer. Was told I couldn't get a lawyer until I get denied. Lately I find that I am very good at growing plants hydroponically. I also have an interest in building a distillery for the production of ethanol. As work is concerned aside from my many triggers I always get this anxiety feeling of "I'm clocked in so if I leave I'll get in trouble." This thought makes me feel like I am trapped just as I was in the Army. So much so that I eventually break down and just stop going to work. Which ends in being fired.
  5. The severe anxiety was also diagnosed through the ptsd clinic. Right now I just really hate the gov. It seems like the VA is set up to make you fail and that is messed up. Even trying to better myself by getting a gov job I was screwed over. ptsd doctor cleared me to work like wright patt wanted and they still tell me im unfit because of the meds... IDK what CUE is but I know they haven't. I was confused this whole time. I really thought I just had really bad asthma even though the meds never helped much. So when my newest GF (now my wife) forced me to go to the VA I told the social worker about the MST somewhat. Thats what started the whole treatment and diagnosis process that discovered I have severe anxiety, severe depression, and ptsd. I never thought that I had anything wrong with me other than the asthma. I'm getting help from a lady at the ptsd clinic on my claim. I tried to use my VSO but she belittled me and put it off as "being bullied on the playground." (her words) Even if I were to get 100%/TDIU for anxiety I'd still want to get the ptsd claim approved just for me. It would help me validate what I went through and that someone in the gov has acknowledge it did happen.
  6. I been trying to get work. Was just denied a gov job due to the meds I am on for ptsd. I am claiming ptsd due to mst. I have every bit of evidence but an actual report of the rapes. The twist to my claim is that I was rated 30% for asthma while still in the army and just a few months ago the VA determined that my asthma was a misdiagnoses and that I actually have severe anxiety.
  7. I Put in my claim for ptsd in June 2010. 1-26-2011 it went to decision phase. Its been with the rating board for over a month now. Anyone had this issue? I did provide them with every document that wasn't in my c-file that supports my claim. I just really need some input. This is driving me nuts.
  8. The sad thing is there are veterans who will lie about having ptsd just to get a check. It really pisses me off that I suffer from MST and will more than likely have to fight the VA for compensation and there are those who are playing the system just to get a check. I wish the VA could use lie detectors to verify MST...
  9. Yesterday I realized I was wrong about it being past the rating stage. I did not know that the rating stage is also the decision phase. I got an e-mail back from IRIS and was told that an RO team called DART is working on my case. Sure. But it depends upon what your claim is. Is it for PTSD, or is it for TDIU? That is just it. I want to work. I want my old life back.
  10. Well the doctor that gave me my physical for the job is denying me the job because of the medication I am on and the whole PTSD/MST..... So much for that....
  11. As long as PTSD is your primary diagnoses for mental health depression will be a major factor in how they rate your PTSD. Lets say you have asthma. The VA should factor that in with your PTSD IF you are diagnosed with anxiety as well.
  12. The job is a in door job in which I just have to restore chairs, tables, ect along with helping the cleaning department when they need help. it is a GS-5 pay grade and requires the bare min security clearance. The HR lady referred to it as "trustee clearance". She also said 80% of the time I'll be working solo inside the "workshop" but i'll still be around other civilian employees. With it being part time I'll still have a day off during the week to keep my va appointments.
  13. I was diagnosed with ptsd in August 2010 by a doctor after my social worker gave me a few multiple choice forms. No I haven't applied for anything else. This week I am going for my physical to start a federal job in the next 60 days; however, my social worker and doctor both think I will eventually be fired or quit due to the ptsd. Social worker "marked" me as unemployable and doctor shares my need and determination to hold a job.
  14. Called the 800# today and the guy I talked to said the same thing the doctor said to me. "You provided a very detailed stressor letter and that maybe all that is required aside from the evidence gathered at the duty station in which the incident took place." So I am feeling a little more hopeful. I know the va doctors are talking out of their a$$e$ in regards to claims but I hope in this case it isn't.
  15. They had a room right next to me and I have read other stories of how the victim gets treated when reporting it. So I found it in my best interest to keep my mouth shut and get discharged asap. The police report is validated by my room mate in regards to items stolen. The knife was recovered by the MPs but there was never any finger print test done to my knowledge. It just sucks that a report of rape is a make or break in these claims. Anyone that knows how these are handled in service knows keeping quite and getting away from it is the safe thing to do. Besides the shame and thinking that it was my fault that it happened.
  16. June 2010 I started treatment for ptsd and later that month I opened a claim for ptsd. Jan 2011 C&P pending. Feb 2011 doctors diagnosed that my SCed asthma is a misdiagnoses and is really severe anxiety. Mar 2011 Found out that C&P canceled had been canceled. Also that my claim is at the decision phase. I was sexually assaulted three different times. One of which involved them robbing my room which I called MPs and reported physical assault and robbery. (did not report rape) At the time my mother and senator were both informed of my problems (but not the rapes) My questions are: why would they cancel my C&P exam after finding out that my SCed asthma is actually severe anxiety? ( asthma meds never helped much and after being put on ptsd meds breathing got a lot better.) My social worker left for medical reasons and I have been seeing the doctor once a week that does C&P exams for my therapy. Could this be why no C&P? Does the fact that I been through 9 jobs since 2006 and have a combined number of over two years without work help my case? Is it a good sign that it took under three months at the rater level? (Not sure how long but it is def under 3 months) Does providing a very detailed stressor letter of what I remember relative to personal/sexual assault help?
