I filed for COPD on my very first claim in 2007, which was denied. I stated smoking IN Vietnam and I have IHD. Any chance on retro pay?

I have been rated SMC S for about 10 years. I have about 15 ratings that add up to about 200 per cent, non va math of which one was 60 per cent for Ischemic Cardiomyopathy. I just got infor yesterday under benefits it shows, You are receiving SMC S since 2008 and rated 7-19-19 and SMC L-1 rated 7-19-19 for 100 per cent ischemic cardiomyopathy on account of being so helpless as to be in need of regular aid and attendance from 04/20/2019. Does this mean I will receive both? I just don't want to lose any money. Thanks

My husband has been 100 per cent P and T on SMC-S for about 8 years. Today we were notified he was changed to SMC L-1. So does he stop the first to get the second or how does that work?

Ok, the official word is 30% from Sept. 07 (I was already getting 20% DM and 60 % from March 2010, both from IHD. I have been 100% from Oct. 08. They also said we are entitled to SMC based on housebound from March 2010. Help, help, trying to figure the math--too fuzzy!! Which SMC and will they take the 30 from the 20 or how does that work. Thanks for all the help.

We have not received the official Nehmer letter yet. This was told to us by the DAV. Thanks to all who have helped us.

ok, so how would I know which smc it would be from the rating tables?? also, is A&A something in addition to SMC/

Thank you so much for taking so much time on me. I will lead you to where we are not. In 06 I suffered CHF. Went to VA in Sept. 06. In 07, I received 20% for DM11. i went downhill quickly and at the end of 08, i was increased to 100% P&T (but nothing to do with the Nehmer claim. So in March, 2010, we filed for IHD under the new presumptive rules. We just found out they gave me 30% from 07; 70% from march 2010. smc from march 2010 and A&A from march 2010. So I am thoroughly confused, have no clue what to even think about what I may receive. I have not been able to work for a year and a half, so I would be so grateful for help. But I must say, the VA has always been wonderful to me. Thanks for any help

Ok, here is the deal. I started VA in 20, got 20% in 07, 100% in 08. Under Nehmer, we were just told that he is 30% from March 07, 60% from March 2010, now another 100% plus qualifies for SMC A & A (not sure if this is right). Can anyone tell me, do we get retro money or not. I am soooooo confused!!

My claim closed on Thursday from rating, said it was in authorization. what exactly does this mean, where are we in the claim process, and how long does this process take??
