  1. I finally got my retro today and my dependency claim approved. Nice little chunk of change in the bank account now. What a relief that is over. One more big claim to go, well that is better than one big claim, an appeal, and a depency awaiting. :) Wow I am still in shock. I really do feel some relief from this. I heard of others say about it, now I know exactlly how it feels. Thanks so much for all you do, each an every one of you. I have read a lot of stuff on here over the years and now it is my turn to return the favor and tell everyone still fighting, to never give up. I know it is hard, very hard at times. One day, you will finally get yours. Thanks again Hadit and all you fine people. Awesome!!!!! Oh yeah I also got moved up to a 70% rating and I have changed it on here to reflect. BBF
  2. I tried to check on ebenefits on my claim but I couldn't find anything about a rating (for my foot, plantar facsiitis). Just that it was sent back to the RO. I did find out that my other claim has now moved back to gathering evidence after sitting at pending decison approval for more that 6 months. Now it says that my claim won't be done until 2014. I don't understand what they are doing at the VA anymore. Does anyone else understand this? Any help would be appreciated since this has been going on since July 2010. Thanks. BBF
  3. Thanks everyone. I haven't heard anything as of yet form the RO in Philly. I will keep everyone posted with what is happening when I get more info. Thanks again for all the positive comments, its nice to hear them, usually people complain about it. Well at least where I work and live, no compation. I would also like to thank the people who run this site. You are doing a great job, keep it up!! BBF
  4. I received my appeal in the mail last friday on my foot. It has been since 2007 and it was finally granted service connection. My question is, there wasn't a percentage associated with it. Does that mean that it is rated at 0% or since it was an appeal that was in Washington, do I have to wait until it gets back to Philly so they can assess what to rate it at? I am lost here since there wan't anything with it. Thanks for any comments, the help is appreciated. At least it is service connected!! BBF
  5. Great News!! Glad yours didn't get hung up like mine is. I have called that 800# a bunch of times and get told the same thing. They even did the iris thing for me a few times. I guess I am just lucky like that!! LOL!!
  6. I just checked mine as well. Wow do they really have something messed up. I have sent them everything they ever asked for at least once. Now what, they are going to say, we never recieved anything, to bad for you, your denied? I hope not, I have been waiting on this thing for over 2 years now with not movement. I guess some more waiting and see if they can fix it.
  7. Not to be a bummer on the situation or anything, buy my claim has been sitting in that same status for almost a year now. Hopfully yours will move much quicker!! Good Luck!!
  8. I was wondering the same thing. I have a claim in since July 2010 with alot of those presumtive conditions on there. I am wondering if they are waiting until after the 31 of Dec to decide my claim so they can deny it. I gues I will have to make some calls next week. I hope this isn't the case because that would be just wrong to alot of vets out there!!!
  9. Thats a GREAT Christmas present!!! Spend wise like everyone else has posted as it does go fast. As USMC89 said, I hope mine comes soon too!! Its only been in the works since July 2010 and still nothing!!
  10. I take that as well for fibromyalga. The only thing that I noticed with it, is I have the twitching of body parts sometimes. They other side effects I don't notice but some of them I already had before I started taking it. I take 900 mg x3 a day. I haven't really notice any weight gain either. Hopefully that stays away, I have enough going on not to have to worry about that.
  11. Thanks for the all the positive posts. I am a OIF vet. I never had any breathing problems until I came back from there. Hopefully it never gets worse but time will tell.
  12. I received the white envolope a few days ago. It was pretty thin so I was like oh great another denial and a long drawn out fight again, but to my surprise, it was for my asthma appeal that was started back in June of 2007. It was finally service connected at 10%. It doesn't change my percentage at all but at least it is SC. Thank you so much for this site and all the great info on here. And of course all the great poeple. Everyone, keep up the fight and never give up.
  13. I have been experiencing the same thing but just in the last year or so. It isn't really bad yet but does get quite annoying. I never knew what it was. Thanks for bringing this subject up. I will have a talk with my Doc when I go to the VA again. B.
  14. I was in Iraq in March till May 0f 2003. Ever since I have come back from there, I have been short of breath. I have be diagnosed with asthma and use an inhaler. The week of July 4th of this year, my right lung colapsed for no reason. The doctors had no idea why this happened. The explanations that were given were either spontanious or something to do with the combination of my asthma and sleep apnea. Got to love that sand box. My health has been completely horrible since I came home from there. B.
  15. I filed a claim for a few different conditions back in September 2010. I had my C&P exam in December 2010. I was just wondering how long it takes to hear anything back. I did get a letter stating they were still working on it but I have seen on here before that just about everyone gets one of those. I had called the 800# and I was told that the claim was in the Decision phase but that was in May or the beginning of June 2011. Hopefully I put this topic in the right place, if not I am truly sorry and hopefully the Mods. will move it for me. :) Thanks for any info you guys and girls have. B.
