wadedenney replied to qwiksting's question in VA Disability Claims Research
quikstring, I have one thing to say get your records find the best Cardioigist in the area and go see him, asap!!!!!, when I was 45 had 3 MI and did not even know it. and 3 months prior to that had seen a VA Dr. and he mist it too. I had 2 100% and an 80%. There is no way I would wait with that 100% bockage. Better a little poorer than dead. If the heart attach was with one year of retirement apply after you get check out. What was your METs on the stress test? -

Dmii Secondary To Atheroscierosis With By Pass
wadedenney posted a question in VA Disability Claims Research
Does anyone know of a case where the VA awarded a secondary for DMII do to Atheroscierosis with by pass due to weight gain because of the heart problem? BVA case or knowledge of the win would be great. Thanks again Wade -
Thanks Berta, The veteran had no contact with the va, as I am told he hated the agency. So she has decide to just do an AO DIC claim, thanks for the help Wade
-
Thanks Berta for all the info, you are right it will be an Agent orange DIC claim. Her neise also informed me that the Death Certificat does say prostate Cancer. Do I need to submit just the Death Certificate and DD214 requesting DIC for the Wife due to Death by AO. Or do I need all the med. record and file a after death Claim for Disability and DIC at the same time. Thanks Wade

Carlie, I choose a De Novo review, it worked fast last time, a bit slower this time but hope it still work. If not going straight to Washington for in person, luckly it only about 4 hr drive. Got plenty of solid Medical evidence both secondary and presumtive, just got to get someone to read It!!! Thanks Wade
-
Thanks Carlie and Berta, for your always fast responce. Fyi Berta I am still waiting on the DRO review and statement of Case to be handled in Winston-Salem. Just preparing for what is to come next. However I did send copies of 3 IMO from Dr B and copies of a BDQ from my Dr that were not considered, but were part of the record before the final closing of the claim, from 09/2010, they handle my claim 2 at a time taking 2.5 years enstead of all at once. Just hoping that I get a good DRO and this comes to an end finally, if Not!! On ward and up ward. Bless you Ladies Never Quit! Thanks Wade

Is there anyone out there who had a DRO reveiw from Winston-Salem, recently that could advise on the time it took them, the claim took 29 months hope the reveiw ia faster!!! Thanks

thanks P Rogers and chuck 75, As for IU, I am lucky enough to have a good Job that I can still handle for know. Mr Philip Roger when I run all the numbers 70,30,10 comes to 81.1, add a 10 and a 10 it comes to 85 paid at 90, add the sleep apnea and start all over it comes to 93, so still short of 95. So am I correct to assume pay would be 90? Thanks -
currently I am rated at 82 paid at 80 %, and have a couple of 10%'s pending that would push me to 86% paid at 90%. Here is the Question I have a sleep Apnea claim they have denied that would pay at 50% if I pay for an IMO, if I had a combined rating of 86% and add a 50% it falls short of 95% or would the VA pay 100% sense 90 plus a 50 nets 100. Should I pay for IMO? Any advice with the NUMBERS?

hypertension Sleep Apnea
wadedenney replied to COOL BREEZE's question in VA Disability Claims Research
John if you clean the mask and tubing about every 2 weeks by soaking in hot water and a cap full of beach, I have been able to get my mask to last 1 to 1.5 years and the tube for a year. I also rinse with hot water a wintergreen alcohal in the water, makes it smell good for a couple of days. Mine is not provide by the VA yet so the cost can be a challenge. Also the little blue filter for the air intake for mine is made out of the same fiber filter for my fish aquiremum and you can cut your own for about a tenth the cost. Just a few hint to help cover the cost when times get tough. -
My claim has just completed it 18th month and is still at gathering evedance. However I am just now getting to 90 days sense my last C&P. Question rattle the chain and wake the sleeping bog, or sit and wait a couple more months and see if he awakes on his own. Just looking for some general feedback on what to do next if anything. Thanks
-
First let me state I realize there will be many thought on this, so I am just tring to figure out if there is anything I can do or should do at this point and time. My claim is in it 18th month, filed Sept of 2010, and is still sitting in gathering evidence, however my last C&Ps were done the first week in January this year, so just know reach 90 days. What is the thought of the members, not looking to slow things down any, but it does not look as if it could go any slower!! Thanks

Case Changies And Questions
wadedenney posted a question in Entitlement - Veterans Compensation Benefits Claims
E benefits show some movement after 17 months. I currently have 2 claims pending, one for dependance and one for Disabililies. Well the claim for Dependance went from received to Preparation for Notification today, but the one for disabilities has still not moved, "stalled in gather Information". Question is that everyone from my service officer to "Peggy" have indicated that the VA would work both at the sametime. Have the members of Hadit found this to be the case? and could I be nearing the end? -
I am a 17 months in Winston Salem.

Pyrimiding
wadedenney replied to wadedenney's question in Eligibility - Veterans Compensation Benefit Claims
jvretiredvet and testvet, I am 30% for CAD with bypass, and among the many meds. I currently take one is to control my blood pressure which is taken daily. The question arose when I saw in the 24 that you could get 10% for BP if you take medicine daily, but sense it is in the 7000 for CAd and 7100 for vascular I am not sure if it would be Pyrimiding? -
I currently hold a rating for the Heart, can I get a rating for High Blood presure, due to daily Medication at 10% too, or would that be considered Pyrimiding?

Multiple Exams For The Same Things
wadedenney replied to Stu Pidasso's question in Veterans Compensation & Pension Exams
http://www.vba.va.gov/reports/mmwr/, if the link does not work do a search at the main VA web site, for Monday morning report. I would normally agree with you about the Senator but after 18 month and no movement I would think they have misplaced or lost it, but will make sure the Senator understand this is just a status request not a reveiw, but I am sure it a gamble either way. -
Multiple Exams For The Same Things
wadedenney replied to Stu Pidasso's question in Veterans Compensation & Pension Exams
Stu and loose cannon, and I make three blind mice working with Winston Salem. Same song same dance here. File my claim on Sept 16th of 2010, thought I had completed all exams in Fed. of 11. Got another my 4th addition information request and letter stating they were scheduling another qtc exam, in Sept of 11, replied back with no new information rate as soon as possible. Still no movement out of development or appointment scheduled and just about to complete 14 months waiting, and really due not except to here until after the new years if lucky! But if it still sit in development at 18 months I am calling a senator! This is really out of control in Winston-salem, NC. Last weeks Monday morning report showed Winston Salem 33,348 cases behind. Never give up! Got nothing but time!!! -

Unemployment
wadedenney replied to vet2010's question in Entitlement - Veterans Compensation Benefits Claims
In most states an application for ssdi would make you disquafied for Unemployment, It definitely does in most state I know of. The 1st qualifing requirement for Uneployment Ins is that you be able and available for work, and and application for ssdi would require a fact finding on able and available requirement, sence an applicatoin for SSDI you are claiming unable to work. I have been working in the feild for 20 years, but check with your state. Your retirement only counts against UI if it is in the base period, your VA disability pay does not count here, but check with your state on this to as every state is slightly different.
