  1. don't give up, that what they want. Stay at them, if you give up they win. I know it is hard to fight the battle, I am fighting one since I was denied 1983, so the battle still goes on. Like someone else said, get a lawyer, you may have to payout, but if you win the door is then open. keep up the fight. GOOD LUCK
  2. I have had 5 C&P since Jan 5, I only saw 2 person who seem to be legit to examine me. The first one was an audiologist and the second was Psychologist . The person in the office did the EKG was just a worker in my opinion. But when I saw the Dr. he was of Indian decent with broken accent. I saw no file except a questionnaire sheet that he read questions off to me. This Dr. was NOT a cardiologist just a GP. I know I will not get a good evaluation from any QTC office, and that will reflect rating increase. I think all veterans needs to pack together and protest the way we are farmed out to contractors who works for the VA. which shows favoritisms to the VA. I will file and appeal once I get the brown envelope from the VA on what I stated the above. Ok just my 2 cents
  3. e-bennies sucks. It has been down for so long I am beginning to think the contractor on the ACA i.e. Obamacare are the one who is handling the this site.
  4. well here it is 8:17 EST in Georgia and E-bennies is still down. I guess it being up graded by the same people who was working on the AHC (Obama care) web site.
  5. thanks for the replies, but my son has not been med retired yet, He is going thru a school called TAPS what ever that is. Anyway I was just asking a question for me, not him as of yet. I think once he knows for sure he is being Med retired he will start his VA claim.
  6. All of this interesting, My son is looking to be medical discharged this Feb. with 19.5 years in the Air Force giving him 20 years of service. He is being MD due his depression and other medical problems. He did tried to comment suicide and was placed in a mental health hospital. Once he was released several months later he was back in for 3 weeks. My question is? When he is medical discharged can he draw both his retirement and his VA once he applies for it? Thanks
  7. Morning Dot, to answer your questions, NO I have never smoked, my cholesterol is under control by the medication I take. Now as for as my weight goes, I am 5'8'' and my weight is 234lbs, so according to their chart I am obese. I don't think I have sleep apnea, but with PTSD I NEVER SLEEP THRU A NIGHT. Also I would never take this DR. opinion as gospel. I have a cardiologist that is taking care of my heart. My cardio Dr. has me schedule for a stress test this April. The results of the test will determine if he put in a stent to open the 40% blockage. I almost forgot the atherosclerosis, yes I have that to. Isn't life great when you get older.
  8. Well glad this week is over. I had 5 QTC's since last Friday. Today was 3 back to back. I has PTSD, Heart, and HYPERTENSION. when I was seated they took my BP which was 177/97/78 then again 172/83/79 those was on the left arm then to the right arm, 171/85/76. I don't know how that going to play out. The Dr. who examine me for my IHD said I had a good heart, I asked how could that be with high BP, A STENT and a artery with more than 40% blockage. He said it sounds good, what a joke this was. Now on the PTSD the Psy Dr. I think did really well, ask some good questions, but nothing about the events I dreams or have night mares about nothing on anything I saw or witness while in Viet Nam. Just a lot of social questions. So I don't know if this will get me a up grade in my rating or not, just hope so, All of this is for IU. thanks for listening
  9. I went and applied for SSDI on my 50% disability for PTSD. I was told straight up once I sat down with the interviewer that I made to much money. I never got a chance to say anything except BS. never looked at my VA report. so good luck with yours
  10. I forgot to add, I am having a C&P by a QTC on 1/06/14 and 1/10/14 on my hypertension and PTSD increase .I just had a new hearing test by QTC 12/30/13. But I will mention to the Dr. that I think I have ED due to the meds I am taking.
  11. jbasser, I have had my VA Dr. fill this form out. It is in the VA hands. Dr. was very helpful and did not mine filling it out.
  12. well after some soul searching, I will not STOP taking my meds. As friend on here as stated, my life is more important, and that I agree with. I will take all my meds with me as show and tell. I will also give the most vivid recount of my experience I had in Vietnam. Thanks to all on here for there concern and input
  13. Well I am torn between the to. I have 5 QTC evaluations coming up before Jan 10. I have asked for IU and all of this is because of it. I know one is about my increase in PTSD 50% to 70% rating, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE 0-WHAT EVER % and a new claim for my HEART DIEASE, along with a new hearing test. So how can the examiner give you a good evaluation if they do not see how you are. As stated earlier, I will brush up on the side effects and relate what I have to the examiner, that is if I decide not to come off the meds.. But really how well can we trust these VA contractors to do a job they are paid to do with out being biased toward the VA who write them the checks I will give a follow up once I get the rating from the VA, wish me luck.
  14. those reading was the my first day at the VA to see my assigned Dr. My BP was so high on the first reading I had to sit there for about 30 minutes , they again took my BP and it was still high, but not as high as the first reading. At the ending of the meeting I had high blood pressure medications my hands. When I doing the C&P I told the Dr. that I was on BP meds from the VA, my reading was 155/112, they had to do it 2 times to see if they had it correct. that is where I got 0%. I guess I was to embarrassed to admit that I do have ED. I have not filed on that My BP is now running between 140/78 to 158/82 , but this is under two different medications. I have another nuclear stress test coming in March, will wait and see how that goes, last was a surprise to me, I had 95% blockage and had no problems indicating I had this blockage. I will keep everyone posted on here, and thanks for the advice I have gotten
  15. I am rated 0 for hypertension even with high numbers. When I saw my VA Dr. for the first time it was 182/125, she put me on meds that day. My Cardiologist Dr. also put me on more meds after the stent was put in. I do have another C&P coming up soon.
  16. I have one coming up for an increase in PTSD, HEARING, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, HEART DIEASE this is because I file for IU. I did get a call from a VA contractor that the schedule is coming.
  17. well I do build a nice fire and sit outside , sort of a comfort zone for me. When the weather is right I like to go camping, I have a motor home and love to go to state, national parks and the CoE parks. I ask to get to the away from other to be along. But over the years I have found so many veterans camping with there problem and never go and ask for help. I try to encourage them to. Oh I TELL THEM THEY EARNED IT so go ask for it.
  18. I GUESS I need to ask for the blue tooth thing for my aids. All I have are the aids over the ears, no volume control or anything else on them.
  19. . KILLEMALL is right, 40% for hearing losss and 10% on tinnitus=50% ON HEARING, 50% on PTSD= 70% TOTAL Well I don't go to movie I get nervous Inside with so many people sitting around me. But I sit in my recliner and watch TV, which is about 20' from me, and several times I have to ask Maria what did she /he say. I have a very hard time hearing things on TV unless it is up a lot. I have a hard time hearing women talk. The level of their voice is high and that is where I have my loss at. I do OK with my aids in, but I mostly put them in when I am driving.
  20. Just to let you know I have filed also last Feb. I got some VA papers to have my old boss to fill out stating what was my working habits and annual income from them. And if they could state the reason why I quit. That part was easy for them, They asked me to fill in the blanks. Got it signed and will back on the way to the VA tomorrow.
  21. yes you can get a higher rating. I am 50% to include tinnitus . Tinnitus is 10% and that is all you can get for that. So that is 20% per ear.
  22. hang in there 82 AB, I went thru the 16 weeks also, and I still go back to the meeting every 2 months. I did enjoy the meeting as it was a learning process for me. I thought was the only one who was crazy with night mares and night sweats. I am not a real loner but I can't do crowd.s, if around a group of vets I fell better . I also moved from the city to the country to have piece. I have 150 acres behind me so I go and get loss for awhile when I am in the dumps with problems. Hang in there and looks for ways to bring you piece.
  23. that is great news, and just before Christmas , now there a present worth waiting for. So glad for you and thank you for your service
  24. John which Dr. my psychiatrist or my regular VA dr. This is not easy for me to open up about this with my psychiatrist
  25. Yes Carlie it is freaking me out, you ask why, it because I have flash back when I was in country, and that I may have killed one of his relatives, and I have been telling him all my problems. AND YES because he is Vietnamese. I been seeing him for about a year, but last session he exposed this to me. And yes I want to change Dr. Do you see a problem here? if so please explain to me. Thanks for your questions
