  1. Thanks to all who has posted this information. It just adds to my claim on AO. I was station at Ft. Mccllean back in 1968 for AIT training before beening sent to Ft Benning for K9 training. I will see if I can cut and paste this and use as evidence for my claim. Once again thanks to everyone for this info, I surely hope it will help others who are suffering from AO.
  2. terrysturgis, Ft Benning is a great place to work. I retired from there as a fire inspector. They will be near Martin Hospital if they have any problem. And not to for from the AL.VA office. I live about 25-30 miles from Seals AL.
  3. free_sprit_etc, well this so confusing and I guess that is what they want. I am drawing SS, I have paid enough credits that I do qualify for SS. But SINCE I WAS MANATORY retired at age 57, I had to wait till I was 62 to draw it. I am being penalize because I retired from the federal government and fall under the windfall tax, WHICH THEY TAKE BACK ABOUT 45% OF WHAT I WAS SUPPOSE TO GET. ALL the money I paid into the SS fund was from other jobs other than the federal government. THANKS AGAIN FOR TRYING TO EXPLAIN IT TO ME.
  4. FREE_SPRIT_ECT,, thanks you so much for your time and energy to reply to me and others who are looking in. I was mandatory retired from the federal government at age 57. I was able to file for unemployment and drew one check. I got a job with a Government Contractor for 2 years( 2007) I quit before I got into a physical altercation with one of the bosses. I was SC for hearing lost in 2008 and PTSD in Feb. 2013. I applied for SSDI June of this year and like I said I was told up front that I did not qualify since I have not worked since 2007.The person would not listen to me about my PTSD or my hearing disabilities. They also said I make to much money,, yea right? , they even applied my SC disability as income , which I think is wrong since the Federal Government does to consider it for TAXES. Anyway that is my story, anyone wishing to help out on this I would appreciate it. If you or anyone would like to email me do so at hollis57@bellsouth.net Thank,
  5. jbasser, Yes that is for all medications including NSC meds. I have not been rated for AO for my IHD. The VA is in the gathering evidence stage on that one. As stated before my Renexa is for acute angina attacks and it is the most expensive one. Before BCBS kicks in it is almost 400.00
  6. Halo from your post I am happy for him. but I like to ask a question? That is, has your friend been out of work 5 years or more? I was told I did not qualify for SSDI since I haven't work in 5 years. I really didn't get a word in about my PTSD. The clerk also said I made to much, they added my federal retirement and my 70% Disability. I found this odd since I have friends who retired at a higher rate that I was, and there VA disability. I just needed to ask, Thank , and good luck to your friend
  7. I also get mine thru the VA via mail. I always reorder them the day they get here. I have not ran out of meds since I started ordering them this way. I can always call and check up on the delivery date by calling the VA pharmacy. I HAVE TO ADD THIS, the most expensive one they will not fill. My cost after my ins pays is over $193.00. OH well at least the others are paid for
  8. Thanks for this up date. It is a very powerful piece of information. I have notice I have been in several of the locations. I am printing it out and highlighting the sites for my up grade. Thanks again
  9. well welcome to the Veterans World in Atlanta, Slow is not the word for their service, more like "deny to you die" oh we didn't realized the vet needed our help so fast My brother is 70 YO and has been denied on all his claims, now it is in Rep Sanford Bishop office. So now we wait awhile longer. Good luck to all who has to use Atlanta, for anything.
  10. yes I was wrong should have said appeal it, not re apply. sorry
  11. have you been unemployed for 5 years, if so they may deny you, that what they did to me. I am also 70% but 50%PTSD If you have been out of work less than 5 years then yes do apply, I understand they will deny the first time, but go back and reapply.
  12. I was denied in 83. I did not get a C&P I was just denied. I file to reopen in 2008 and they reopen my claim. I also had requested my SMR. I wert thru it like a fine tooth comb. I founds my discharge showed my hearing was 00000000, all pencil in. Within a year I had 3 C&P alone with a private hearing test done by Beltone and a letter by the audiology who stated it aggravated by being expose to military weaponry. Plus I had fast track letter showing my MOS was number one cause of hearing lost. In all I was granted 20%per ear and 10% for tinnitus. If I can help in anyway PM me and I will see what I have will help you.
  13. wish you the best, I have not heard a word on my claim. but I know it there. I have a 2 items to add to the claim

    Can This Be One?

Thanks so much for your reply. I am thinking of getting all my medical records from my private Doctor. I got to say that the only reason I go to him is to get Z pak for my sinus. This as been going on since the late seventies or early eighties. I will ask if he would do a IMO also. If anyone else has any suggestions, please add. Thanks to Had it.
  15. I know some things are presumed disease caused from AO. BUT I have never seen where anyone has filed for SC for sinusitis. So is this one of the presumed by products of being exposed to AC?
  16. I think all of us veterans go thru a drinking or drug using in some point of our lives due to PTSD. We had no support to fall back on and that was our crutch. I have stopped drinking now and never used drugs, beer was my crutch. I am doing some what better. I go to the VA for a vet to vet meeting every other month. I feel comfortable there because I know they are feeling the same way I do. And we try to help each other. So find a group of vets and attend the meeting, it really helps.
  17. Great, spend wisely and hope everything goes well for u. still 50% and pushing

    Ao Recognition

I agree with both of you, It wasn't until 2 years ago I heard about PTSD and AO. I am now in care for both. I am rated 50% for PTSD and so no rating for AO. Also I was drafted as well, and served my country and now my country needs to serve me. The very first time I went to the VA to apply for benefits, the first time, the first question was how much money do you make? I replied, hmmm, I don't remember being asked that question when I was sent to VN. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED THAT QUESTION AGAIN.
  19. I just remember pulling out a old 55 gal drum cut about a 1/3 up that was placed under the crapper and pouring in diesel fuel and setting them on fire. This was done every day when in base TO EVERY shi**** had to be burned.
  20. Does this include the Vietnam vets who was exposed to burning pit of general trash and old used medical trash and human waste from the potty?
  21. Carlie you are spot on. I went to my VSO this morning and he said the same thing. But he did suggest that I make a copy of the explanation and side effect of the medication I take and high light things that may be used to support my claim. I just went thru reading them and it is possible that the side effect will help. So now I will evaluate every medication I take and go over the side effect and use that as evidence . He also said I should ask my Psychologist for a letter of statement but not to be consider a IMO, just a letter of his evaluation.
  22. From my statement above should I go back and ask the CARDIO Dr. to redo his statement to SAY not able to hold any gainful employment due to my age and hearing and PTSD?
  23. thanks Carlie, & jbassar, Well as you may have guessed this wasn't what I was hoping for. I was hoping since he checked yes, then added no strenuous work would help me out. I am 65 YO now, and was mandatory retired from the Fed Govnt as a fire fighter due to age (57) so don't know what kind of work I could do since my SC FOR HEARING IS 50 % AND PTSD 50% but thanks to all.
  24. Chuck, first it was a private Heart Dr. the only stress test with dye was before I had the stent put in. I have not been given a stress test since Sept,2012.
  25. I put in for AO claim back in about 8 months ago due to my IHD. In the claim I also asked for TDIU. Well today I got my Dr. report and I need some in put from the expert on here. 1.Coronary Atherosclerosis of native coronary artery---ICD CODE 414.01 2.CARDIAC functional assessment---9.4 METS achieved 3.Left Ventricular fraction (LVEF) 60% DATE OF TEST 9/25/12, after the stent was put in. 4.FUNCTION IMPACT and REMARKS,, Does the veterans IHD impact the veteran ability to work. Dr.checked YES, then he writes unable to do any kind of strenuous work. So what are your thoughts about this DBQ report? thanks Hollis 11b40 K9 HANDLER
