  1. Ok, i've been reading alot about Fibromyalgia, and I have every symptom I can find, some of the related symptoms I have been rated for by the VA already. But, I have never been diagnosed with FMS, and the Drs have never even brought it up despite seeing me for every symptom and condition related to it. My question is; If i filed a claim for FMS, would they take away my ratings for anything that could be a symptom of Figro? "i.e migrains, joint pain, insomnia ect ect" and just give me the one rating for FMS lowering my overall %? I ask this cause I have seen a few others on here lately talk about FMS as well, and this might be able to help them too.
  2. Ha haa, Just got an approved retirment date and retirment order today for 01 Feb 2014. I'll be in a total of 20 years and 28 days. I appealled my board to the Sec of the AF, applied for a limited asignment status (LAS), and applied for retirment all at the same time a few months back. I think the SECAF looked at it all and said, "WTF? rubber stamp it concur and get this yahoo out of here" Thanks everyone for your help and encouragement. Now I need to try and get my 90% bumped up to 100%
  3. Mike, Thanks for the help and sorry about the way my last post sounded. Currently, I am at 90% from the VA. My retirment as an E7 will be around $2,200. a month, and my VA disability will be close to the same. I'm trying to get some other contentions that werent rated, rated, and hopefully hit the 100% mark. Or will apply for the TDIU. But from what I read, you cant recieve more disability compensation than retirement. So if I were rated at the 100% level, how would this benefite me? Besides more evidence to provide to the SSDI people, "which from what I hear most cases are denied the 1st time anyway" How would being 100% help me? Thanks in advance, and again, sorry if I came off like an ass.
  4. Sorry, my last post sounded kind of rude. It wasnt meant to be. If you go to the website and read the publication, they're explicit in not waiting to apply, especially if you meet their criteria. It tells you right there what they consider disabled.
  5. They can deny all they want, but I will just refile. There are many many active duty disabled vets who are on their way out, and are getting paid for it. I'm not trying to be rude, i'm just saying. Even on their web site, they say income isnt a determining factor. Its if you can work or not.
  6. Teac, I recieved one of those letters that explain why they rated me the way they did, and why it isnt higher. But this letter is from a year ago. I'm trying to stay after for another year so I can retire at 20. Will my ratings still be good at that time. amd when I do finaly retire start getting compensated for it?
  7. I've read on a sight that SSDI will also give your spouse, and minor children a payment each month as well. I applied for SSDI about 5 months ago so i'm not too familiar with this whole system. Does anybody know about this and how it is awarded/paid/calculated? Thanks in advance.
  8. Thanks, I finaly got it. But I still cant find an answer.
  9. It would appear that these issues are back on the table. I thought they were dead, but they came back up again. If anyone has anymore info on these, please chime in. Here is the link to contact your congressmen, and to view the latest bills in question. http://www.capwiz.com/fra/home/ These two bills are HUGE! And need to gain some serious support. I have already contacted my elected officials, and told them what I thought.
  10. Here is my question; How long are proposed VA ratings good for? Background - I'm still active duty, going through the IDES system and trying to stretch it out for another year so I can hit 20. I had my C&P exam last Feb 2012, and recieved my proposed ratings a few months later. I saw a few things online that says the proposed ratings are only good for a year, and a new C&P will have to be done. If this is true, how will this effect my active duty/retirement time/compensation after retirment? I tried to find the answer online, asked my PEBLO, and also I think the PEB forum is down cause the page wont load. if anyone knows, or has gone through this, it would be greatly appreciated if you could shed some light on this subject. Thanks in advance.
  11. Mine says, "no docs loaded" or something like that.
  12. What is OPM, and how did you get your SSDI back so fast?
