  1. Just guessing but maybe a larger ROM shows a lack of stability, but other than that you got me. pr
  2. I can't even guess based on what you stated here. You've posted nothing related to your claim's decision, except that you're being awarded 100%. When was that decided and by whom?? pr
  3. No one said the VFW was smart. Yup, sounds like they're hawking insurance and they'll get some kind of a kick back. It has nothing to do w/your claim. jmo
  4. Anything said here would be a wild a$$ guess, so I won't comment. Just wait. pr
  5. It's just the VA's latest way to screw the veteran/claimant. jmo pr
  6. It sounds to me like SSA is trying to save money, by short changing you on the onset date. There should be no reason for them to consider SSI, as you receive too much money, from VA, to be considered for SSI. I would wait for their decision, on SSDI, and if they don't award the March 3, 2010, onset date, I would appeal the decision. jmo pr
  7. I'm considering applying for a card, here, in VT. It's approved for medical use. I would ingest it, as I won't smoke anything, since I gave up cigarettes, in 1977. Our lungs are meant to inhale air and that's it. An old friend, a chronic pain patient, has a medical MJ card and uses it when the pain is really bad and at night, to sleep. It seems to work well for her. When I lived in Idaho, it was my understanding that the Spokane, WA, VAMC, would issue it to patients, who lived in WA but couldn't for patients, in ID. pr
  8. Having never dealt w/this myself, I can't state w/absolute certainty but I believe it can take some months to process a convalescent rating. You should plan on not getting the actual increase until at least 6 months, or more, after the surgery, if that soon. You should budget accordingly. jmo pr
  9. Check ebennies and see what your ratings are, currently, and check your bank for deposits. Very often the money is there before you get the notice. As for what the VSR stated, I have no idea what he said, I just know what you stated you "heard." Good luck ! pr
  10. I'm not sure but I believe you need to apply now. I think application must be made by 8/31/2014. pr
  11. You just need to send them a letter requesting that you be made P&T. You can use the "statement in support of claim form." I suggest you look up the requirements, for P&T, to make sure you meet them, before requesting it. Just because you want your student loans waived doesn't mean you are P&T. jmo pr
  12. It'll depend on your policy. It isn't considered "earned income" and should have no effect on other disability payments. Most long term policies require that you apply for SSDI, within a couple of yrs (usually 2yrs) and they will even help you get SSDI and once you have SSDI, they reduce the long term payment or completely cancel it. Check your policy to be sure. pr
  13. I think you should hire an advocate specializing in SSDI law. It sounds to me like you've been screwed by SS for yrs. If you're TDIU you should be able to get SSDI, unless you haven't paid into the system, enough. You can get SS retirement and collect TDIU, at the same time. You could probably win $100k retro for your SSDI from 1999. The choice is yours. jmo pr
  14. How about because that's where the VA is. To the best of my knowledge the VA doesn't do exams on military bases. You'll also get paid travel, with no deductions, for the trip. pr
  15. No. Perhaps someday but not now. My c-file is eight volumes and I would love to be able to view it online. I'm lucky, in that when I went to the CAVC, my attorney, at that time, put it on CD and gave me a copy. pr
  16. Not to my knowledge and with everything being backed up, like it is, it could take a year. jmo pr
  17. Had a new C&P exam, yesterday, for HB - A&A. Examiner was/is a PA. Asked the same questions as the previous exams. Can I brush my teeth - can I bathe myself - can I use the toilet w/o assistance - do I cook - etc.. This time, I had evidence that I have trouble looking out for safety issues, ie: protecting myself from the normal dangers of daily life. I brought her a copy of the newspaper article about the kitchen fire I accidently caused, trying to make freaking french fries, that caused me to lose my house. Maybe that'll help. Probably not! And the claim goes on. 25 yrs 4 months. pr
  18. You have two records. Your medical, which is at the VAMC and your claims file, which is kept at the VARO's veterans service center. Not likely he'd have your c-file, unless he's doing a C&P exam on you. pr
  19. John - is your "s" award due to actually being housebound or is it because you are now 100%+60%?? You could contact the travel office and require them to make arrangements to pick you up and return you home. They may end up just arranging a DAV van but it's worth a try. You could also try for a home health aid like Pete has. jmo pr
  20. Welcome to Hadit. I can't tell what you're looking for??? If you are having psychiatric issues or physical problems, due to your VN service, you should file a claim(s) w/the VA. You could also contact a Vet Center for counseling and guidance. jmo pr
  21. It is likely they disagreed w/the examiner. Sorry! pr
  22. First off, who would want to live in NYC!!!!!!!! jmo As for the tax bill on the student loan, they never sent me one, I doubt you'll get a bill. jmo pr
  23. They probably won't. In fact, knowing the VA I doubt they'll even order the tests, especially if these were the result of C&P exams. They generally rate the conditions as non-service connected (NSC). jmo pr
