  1. Have you checked recently? I did not ask for the secure messaging but it appeared last time I logged in which was last week, I just thought it was an upgrade or something.
  2. PROVIGIL (modafinil) is the medicine for fatigue at 200mg. Thanks.
  3. Hello all............ Well I underwent a neurophysc workup/testing. I also had to see Neurology, whom said after everything was finished with the Neurophysc they would address and treat my migrains. So, I'm waiting.......during this time my VA PCM went to another location. When I seen my new PCM she was talking about Neurology said they won't treat me due to Polypharmacy. I think this is a crock and was wondering if anyone else has been thru the road block. I do take one blood pressure med, one MH med, a couple stomach meds, metformin, thyroid pill, sleeping pill and an anti-fatigue pill which is eight in total. I get really bad migrains, and my civilian neuro had me one a few meds but they did not help and now he is out of the pratice. Any ideas? I do pick up my meds at the MTF so the VA as I was told can view the med list, I'm not sure if this is true or not. Thanks in advance, Yelloow
  4. Sorry to hear this Pete53........I've only been in the VA system 8 years but have NEVER had a problem with the mail orders whether it is coming straight from the doctor or my reorders online. I hope things are turning around in the area for you. Yelloow
  5. Doc, Best wishes with that sleep apnea claim. Mine has been on the back burner for years now, my sleep issues are pretty well documented in my SMR but I have no doctor IMO, if you find a decent doctor for one please send me a message. Y#5
  6. I know this is a few months old but a more realistic approch to a link would be HYPOTHROIDism with secondary sleep apnea and Low T. Just talk with an endo and do some reasearch.
  7. deleted and found. Thanks.
  8. This is the CPI for COLA formula and as John said there are somethings on there that we all do not need. I did not remember all this on here, my apologies. I think they just sent me an email with the food portion. I wonder if they have ever thought or considered to do a retired/disabled CPI for COLA since our uses are not the same as active duty personnel/working personnel. http://www.bls.gov/cpi/cpiri2008.pdf
  9. I know my mind is not right, however, I emailed the BLS last year to find out what products are considers with the CPI for COLA and there were only food products on the information they emailed me.......no kind of electronics or anything else anyone would consider not truly essential. There are multile CPI formulas.
  10. Cruinthe, Sorry to hear you have to go thru all that. Y#5
  11. "The Board notes that a layperson can certainly provide an eyewitness account of a veteran's visible symptoms"
  12. I don't have much experience with my VA PCP but will shortly. As well I/We don't know what all you told them but I would not say a word about any claim, however, I would explain my symptoms, daily living struggles and concerns for my health. This might not be enough as they might just want to cover the pain with meds. From my complaints of increasing pain my VA PCP did send me to the to the pain clinic and she had to have an up to date MRI. Up to dating being less than a year old. The pain clinic hasn't worked for me but just an idea.
  13. All two hundred and sixty eight pages come up for me. Thanks for the link, I do have it on CD somewhere. Y#5
  14. How should I request an increase and for what? I have numbness, burning, tingling in legs, and lower back pain.
  15. Is there anyone here I can emails some specific questions I have about this topic. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
  16. Thanks. That is pretty much what happened to me. Rated for lumbar strain in 2004 and my first MRI was 2007 showing many bulging disc and in 2010 MRI showing herniated disc.
  17. Hi, Can a lumbar strain be a connection to a herniated lumbar disc?
  18. Are we still allowed two pairs of glasses per year at the VA? I just got my first pair a few months ago and asked about "sunglasses" which wasn't answered but I was told I'm legally blind, lol.
  19. Chr and Pete, Thanks much for the info, I should see him in the next month. Maybe during the week someone will pop in from his location. Thanks again very much.
  20. Pete and CHR49, Thanks. I was hoping someone maybe from the group was in the area that could speak with him. I'm not very good with the claims and know zero about AO. The veteran is hard to understand and he said he's been having anger problems so I thought I would try to help him out. chr49, is Murfreesboro far from Nashville? Do you have a phone number I can pass to him? Thanks again,
  21. Hello all, At work today I spoke with a gentleman who is a Vietnam Veteran and he lives in Nashville, TN. From what I understand he went to the VA for AO, trying to get his hearing checked out and PTSD or simular problems. I did ask him if he is service connected for anything, receives benefits or put in a VA claim and he said "no". He said a friend he was stationed with was being seen due to AO but he wasn't, didn't understand and unable to get an appointment. I did invite him to our website but he stated he is not computer literate. Is there anyone near Nashville, TN that he could speak with besisde a VSO to start. I appologize for not knowing how to word this but just trying to get him some guidence. Thanks.
  22. Have they checked your thyroid? TSH tests are normally what they do but you should see an Endo doc if you have hypothyroid symptoms and for more testing. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000353.htm your TSH tests can come back normal like mine have for years. If you have many symptoms of hypothyroid keep telling your doctor hopefully even if the tests are "normal" they will get you to an Endo for much more testing....if that is the problem. It is just very much overlooked. I wouldn't accept the easy answer of "fatty liver". I hope you look into it. For your claim I cannot help ya with that. On the side note many PGW Vets have thyroid problems. Lots of neurotoxins there and as well with our fake food and substitutes.
  23. CPI Indez http://www.bls.gov/news.release/cpi.nr0.htm Not sure why it says things have gone down and we are spending more a month. Does anyone but us notice the ounces, lbs and other unit size go down while the prices either stay the same or go up a little.
  24. Carlie, Yes before I posted I was going to send and IRIS submission and then the certified letter stating there was no intention for SA claim. My concern is the denial dated 11 Sep 2008 for something I did not try to claim and the impacts of that on a furture claim. I did not submit any evidence for SA because I was not claiming it. Anyhow, I guess this is what I need to undersand. It was denied secondary which I wouldn't claim as secondary.....but never the less since it was denied and if I do not file a NOD but then after the year I have evidence to submit and it is submitted is this claim like a new one in the since if they deny I can ask for a review, then nod and appeal it. This is what I'm not sure of. Would anything matter that the RO opened a claim as secondary but when I claim it would be a standalone diagnosis? thank you.
  25. Pete, Yes but I wasn't trying to claim this yet....the RO decided I did because "sleep apnea" was mentioned in the fact that GERD causes me to not wear my CPAP, so they assumed it was a secondary condition to GERD.
