  1. Thanks Pete, No her dad was never in service, just her grandma ( me) and her Papaw.
  2. Thanks everyone. Phillip: She turned 22 just this past October and went into the hospital the next month. She has the required quarters to file. Her doctors recommended for her to file for her disability. Her parents are divorced and her father did take her to court at age 18 to emancipate himself from her. This would be for child support money. Her doctors feel it was the car accident. They diagnosed her with PTSD and Bi-polar. She takes the following medication: Lithium Effexor Klopan Tresodone. She has been living with me since leaving the hospital by Judges order. Thanks everyone. I will be looking for a lawyer. Again, Many thanks, Betty
  3. I will give you a brief synoposis of my granddaugher, 22 years of age. Two attempted suicides, DOA by Judge to Mental Institution. November 2009. Near fatal auto accident 2004. 25 jobs since 18. Filed for Social Security disabilty. Her denial. The evidence shows that you do have back pain and muscle spasms. However, records do indicate that you have any severe muscle weakness or loss of control due to nerve damage. You do have mental conditons that affect your ability to perform some types of activities. However, you should still be able to take care of your personal needs, follow simple instructions and perform simple common routine work. Records indicate that you are being treated for other medical conditions. However, these conditions do not severely limit you from performing your normal daily task. We find an adult is disabled if there is a physical or mental conditon that prevents you from working. The disabling condition(s) must last (or be expected to last) at least 12 months in a row, or be expected to to result in death. The evidence shows you have some restrictions. However, based on your description of your past work as a sub sandwich maker, it is concluded that your restrictions do not prevent you from performing that type of work. Therefore, you do not meet the requirements for disability benefits. In deciding this, we considered the medical evidence, your statements, and how your condition(s) affects to work. If your condition gets worse and keeps you from working, write, call or visit any Social Security Office about filing another application.
  4. May I help you? I will be most happy to. You seem extremely upset. Always, Betty
  5. I will give you my experience. As most know I was placed in a room with two Psychiatrist at my local medical center. My husband was not allowed to go back with me. When I received a copy of that C&P there was very little truth to it. I placed in writing a complaint to the Patient Advocate and went as far as D.C with my complaint. I received a letter back the two Psychiatrist did not wish to change anything. From that C&P I received my denial due to Personality Disorder being in AXIS 11 althought they were generous enought to give me an AXIS 1 of Chronic Anxiety with a GAF of 40. I had had a C&P 5 months earlier with a Psychologist of the VA's Choosing with a " More Likely than Not" her illness began in service. The only way I over came all of this was to go to the internet and look for an Expert in the field of Psychiatry. I went to his office in Washington, D. C. The Judge at the BVA granted me benefits with 16 years retro. In my opinion, you may have to do the same. Betty
  6. This also happen to me. For me if I have the setting on " Larger Text" those controls are not there. Do you by any chance have your setting on Larger Text? I have mine back on Patriot Games. The print is very small, but if I want to post images I must be on it. I switch back and forth. Hope this helps you. Betty
  7. Sounds good John, I sure hope you win this one. I am placing my bet that you will. Betty
  8. Hi CHIEF915, I have read your earlier post. Are you employed? Do you receive Social Security Disability for your Axis 1 illness? I see you are sitting on 90%. Did the doctor state if you were or not employable? I am again sorry, but what you have posted does not give me much to go on. Betty
  9. I am sorry I do not know the answer to your question, but a "Big Congratulations"!!
  10. Here you go. http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-21-8940-ARE.pdf
  11. Skunk, Having a change of medication and having just been released from the hospital will make your chances so much greater for the 100&. Be sure to fill out the TDIU Form when you send your papers for the higher evaluation. If you need a copy I will send you the link.
  12. I am confused also, " What does Bump Mean"?
  13. That is what I thought also, but a very interesting award.
  14. Am I reading this correctly? Service Connection for Nicotine Dependence http://www4.va.gov/vetapp09/files4/0930736.txt
  15. Hi This is just my opinion, but if the C&P's are for the same illness as before, you can expect pretty much the same. Since you filed a NOD and these examinations are for this purpose if I had anything in my possession to show your illness has progressed I would take this with me to give to the doctor. I always like to make sure the good doc has all of my pertinent information and medical records.
  16. I am a " Sensitive 7". My file is located in another state. You are right about who can give you information or touch your file. Hope this helps you.
  17. Angelo, Sounds like the old anxiety is kicking in. Believe me, I did the same thing, and it must be pretty normal for us. I was sure that I would not receive my benefits and I posted the same question to the board every week. All of the worrying was for nothing. I could have used my energy for something better. Wait and fight the battle when you are sure there is one to fight. I had all these ideals in my head. As you can see by my name, I was worrying about nothing. The best to you, Betty
