  1. teejay53, You are welcome. Get this in as soon as possible, as it is very valuable evidence for your claim. Always, Betty
  2. teejay53, My opinion, is yes I would most definitely make a copy of the letter and write a short letter and send it in or take it and have it date stamped and to please add this in evidence of your claim.
  3. Congratulations! I too am so happy for you
  4. Jim. I am not Berta, but here goes. This is what I was told. Fill out this form and turn it in to your local office. I was told to have my reqular doctor fill out the form. http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-21-2680-ARE.pdf Jim, Mine is not service connected and yours is. In my opinion you definitely meet the requirements for the assistance. I would fill out the form and turn it in. I only wish there was a cure for this dreaded disease, but there is not. I have checked with Baltimore and everywhere and there is nothing available. I know what you mean by your wife helping you, God only knows, I couldn't survive without my husband. Always, Betty
  5. That is excellent news. I am so happy you won this one, for I have the same illness and it is a hard road to travel. I am pretty sure it was you that fell into the police officer at the WVA Fair. Am I right? Take care, Betty

  7. This just shows me just how ignorant sometimes the employees can be. Rating on nothing, but a blank sheet of paper. What is their explanation as to what happen to your C&P?
  8. John 1, This one is me. In the cases of veterans over 55 years of age, reexamination will be requested only under unusual circumstances. Too many years of retro, but I got it. Betty
  9. John 1, I am only answering from my experience. I had a C&P when I was 60 and then again at age 64.

    A&a

red, It took me 40 years to receive my award and by that time, age was not in my favor. My different illnesses were not either, but I went ahead and filled out the papers and I am thankful I did receive the Life Insurance and the premium is paid for by the VA. Hope this helps you. Betty
  11. I hate to say it, but it does appear you do have some more waiting to do. As for the GAF. I only know from my own experience. Take into account I had been treated for " Chronic Anxiety Severe" for 40 years before my first and last C&P and was given a GAF of 40. I was given 100% Schedular. Betty
  12. I am sorry that I do not know the answer to your question, even though, I have been to the BVA and remanded to the AMC and then back to BVA and granted my benefits by the Judge after a denial at the AMC. I am sure someone will know the answer to your question. Betty
  13. I honesty don't want to laugh, but I have done the same thing. If you hear me laughing, it is at myself. I believe it is called our nervous system. Take care and you will do fine. Please do let me know how it all goes for you tomorrow. The best to you, Betty
  14. Hedgey, I am happy to see you are feeling much better today. Depression is a terrible thing and sometimes we just need someone to talk to that understands us. I am blessed with so many friends on Hadit that are here for me any time of the day. I have posted all hours of the day and night and there is always some one here. Take care, Betty
  15. Ricky, I too lost my mother and I will not tell you that it will be easy for you. Treasure your Fond Memories, for they will always be with you. My prayers are with you. Betty
  16. Sounds like my discharge. This is what it took me me to win my claim. My review of the records show no documentation which would support the diagnosis of Personality Disorder. There simply are no data which would support that diagnosis under the criteria provided in the Diagnostic and Stastical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association. No psychological or personality testing was done. There was never any showing of an " enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the individual's culture... is inflexible and pervasive across a broad range of personal and social situations... is stable and of long duration... (and) is not better accounted for as a manifestation or consequence of another mental disorder." DSM IV TR, pages 287 - 288. The " other mental disorder" which she clearly *DID* and *DOES *have, and for which she has been treated for xxx years, is *xxxxx. *

  18. Pete, I am sorry for I have no ideal of what you are talking about. I can't think of a thread that I started that you failed to post. You gave me the stength to hang in and always had the kindest of words to say to me. Be easy on yourself, for you have been a God sent to all of us. Betty
