I'm not sure if this question is in the right place or if I should even worry about the situation at all. Here goes though, A few years ago I recieved a compensation percentage from VA for a parial amputaion of my right middle finger which happened in 1991. I have all the paperwork from the base hospital in Fort Polk from the time. Well, after I got out later that year I went to my local VA in Grand Junction CO at the time. I had them check out my finger and had the C&P exam.
Well, I recieved notice from the VA that my injury was service connected but rated at 0 percent. Being a young veteran at the time I figured that that was it and that there was nothing else that I could do. So I just dealt with the scar and discomfort until a few years ago, after I had gotten smarter:) I then went to the VA here in Pensacola and had the pain etc taken care of and a new? claim put in for the finger. Va came back and gave me ,I believe, 10% for the scar/pain/discomfort.
My question is, was the original 0% just or was it a wrong descision from VA and if it was can I do anything about it now?
Thanks to everyone on this forum for providing great information and helpinf eeach other out.
Semper Fi and God bless.
