  1. So my follow up by the call I made to the Trump hotline seems to have been fruitful. I was contacted by senior benefit rep and they had all my comp exams in hand. She took the time to look at the ratings and directed me to look at the Bradley v Peake? Case. She told me since ptsd is the basis for my IU that the sum total for everything else was 50%. Apparently once at 60% for the total of everything else I qualify for some type of SMC which I stil dont understand. I have opened a new claim to get to 100% schedular. I closed my knee claim when I got P&T. So now I can re-present my evidence of injury to my knee while in the Corps. I hope I had my new claim flagged so the VA can track results. I am pleased they took the time to call me and assist getting SMC and 100
  2. My appt is Thursday at 0900 at the CVSO. I don't hold much confidence in them based off of past results. I intend to file 6 more claims that I was told was moot or have developed as secondary issues. If they finally give me my stiff none flexible knee, that should get me over the top
  3. I too called the President hotline and had a pleasant experience. Total talk hold was 24 mins. 10 on hold. It is to the Secretary office I stand corrected on this not being the Presidents plan. I was informed it was. She said Shulkin came down to see what the prevailing issues were and this one was one of the most complained about. Shulkin is meeting with the President today and bringing it to his attn. thanks Marina53 for bring it up with the number. I also made a complaint about having to drop my knee replacement for a deal for P&T. A specialist is supposed to call me about it.

  5. I guess you have never lived where come up to you in the grocery parking lot and try to sell their SNAP cards. Grown ass men who never served. What do they do with that money?? Not eat apparently. Medicaid is nothing more than Cat 5 in the VA system. I saw first hand how the VA "topped" vets and took VA comp to pay bills of vets who don't pay their copay charges. They even 3rd party the collections now. No one is jumping up and down over those fees the VA pays to service veteran healthcare debt why should veteran poor have to pay and Medicaid recipients not? There is a whole side of veteran healthcare you don't understand
  6. This why I don't participate, this is the VA proposal to the federal budget. The President has nothing to do with it. If you are so concerned for the poor, maybe you will agree they should be drug tested just like everyone else who works. Healthcare is collapsing due to scamming poor free riders who only know how to be poor. If they cared half as much for veterans as they do there base, this crap wouldn't keep happening to us
  7. I was given P&T by the Wis dept of VA. I filed an appeal based on the PTSD rating. The State rep was involved at the Milwaukee regional DRO. I had just being basically run out of my employment at the CPAC with the VHA. I took some time off and the DRO called and said I had to resign the morning I got back and that I had to drop my appeal for the knee. i was denied based on the my civilian doc and the VA docs not in the same page now that the VA has to take civilian docs opinions, my doc is now retired and the CMO of orthopedics at the VA hospital
  8. Can you explain this again? I don't get the lingo you use. I am 70% PTSD, 20 for scars, and 40 for various others bone and joint issues. My problem is to get P&T, I had to drop my knee replacement appeal. I used Voc Rehab when I got out and so I can't continue to work per my shrink. My SSDI is for depression only.
  9. It will be a hidden rider bill that we won't see. I am trying to prepare for this as I already lose $800 when my 12 year old turns 18. I guess I have to be prepared to execute my plan to pay down all debt in case this does happen and take care of my vehicles better. i did use some of the back pay and monthly payments to purchase property that will not have payments when and if this happen thanks for the replies
  10. I am 90% and IU, also P&T, I will be 52 next month. Is the retirement age 65 or 67? i also got SSDI through wounded warrior program for SSDI. Does anyone believe this will go through with the new VA budget?
  11. Eligibility has has nothing to do with the Patient Account Center. That stopped almost 3 years ago. Indy and Marion are some of the more stations The facility revenue staff is part of the Patient Acct Center. Elig is a hospital function. The CPAC works admin for 19 VA's in the Midwest
  12. This post is a year old, but to play along I never went to intake before my last C&P. it was denied because of that. Now I have been to intake, been diagnosed, 45 GAF, ASPD and depression with severe PTSD and graphically have shown this forum the progress notes with determination of said exam I will stick with coworkers at the VA with a ptsd rating for help with my questions about my exam. By the info being given about waivers and hardships in another post, knowledge is spotty anyway. Thanks though
  13. Where do you think it goes from the business office? Straight to the admin dept
  14. This is my job at the VA, all answers given you are partially correct Broncovet, hardships apply only to medical visits, you are correct about a mt. If the SS is less than $12256 and he is single, then a copay test is appropriate. $16xxx I forget the exact for spouse and each dependent, is the copay limit for married. If a sc vet, that income must be declared. Over 50% does not pay copays as it was said earlier. If you miss a year you become required to pay all medical and prescriptions as missing shows you decline to give income data. You can ask for a back date to last exemption if you have extenuating circumstances to miss mt date for 6 months only If sc, everyone should call the HRC at the 866 # listed under your name on the statement and ask for a sc audit back to your combined or rating date The 5655 has to be completely filled out and each expense must be clearly broken out. Lumping together expenses will earn a denial for reporting inconsistencies. A detailed 4138 listing and explaining your hardship should accompany the 5655 or it will be return denied as incomplete, we in the Ohio or VIsn 10 admin team will except a letter on a piece of paper All income, including retirement, 401k, annuity, cash in bank and al assets except your home and contents must be listed. A new car will show ability to pay copayment. Paying credit cards and store cards also show ability to pay. If there are outside medical bills, they also should be add to copay or MT, and the out of pocket will reduce income but the VA has a right to be paid as well. Waivers are not a right, so don't expect an automatic approval. More than one waiver, changes the the copay threshold for each vet. IMPORTANT......waivers only cover 180 days from signature date. All other debt must be cleared on a RPP. Anything less than $50 or more than one year requires special terms and they can only be extended to 36 months You are the recipient of my last post on this board because my post for help got over 120 views and one answer, you post and have several responses the same day
  15. No, these are the notes being sent to the raters. The whole exam has 39 pages of summaries and progress notes. The 3 pages i sent say what the dx is and the box checked is the 50% box I am already 10% for scars from my stressor from in service
  16. No, these are the notes being sent to the raters. The whole exam has 39 pages of summaries and progress notes. The 3 pages i sent say what the dx is and the box checked is the 50% box I am already 10% for scars from my stressorservice
  17. I hadn't been to the VA for PTSD for 20 years. When I was in there was no PTSD, just shell shock Here are some progress notes for this exam. I was told by a guy I work with with PTSD that the raters only look at these lines Does anyone know if that is true and ow does this look?
  18. VHA is the health administration who does the C&P and the Benefits Admin who determined the exams after the doc makes decision. Pete, I did nt start at the VA until after my c&p. I deal with guys like your friend everyday My cvso told me to do a mental health and knee claim before a C&P and before my knee replacement I would advise anyone who is filing to be sure to have gone to intake first I technically haven't been denied for PTSD yet. I have had an exam yet. The lesson is to get different claims separated out. My PTSD is being lumped in with my knee Nod I guess I have issues I don't know. I am working well because my dept is full of vets and my manager is a CWO3 retired marine so it is easier to respect him and him me since he understands the issues we face with the stress part of our lives.
  19. Their office contacts the RO. At that point, it goes to the dro. Then the person handling the case keeps in contact with a summary of the case. If it doesn't look right the con office can ask for it to be reviewed and corrected Theoretically it can be done in a day. You have to remember that your decision was made by the C&P doc not the DRO or any other VA employee. They have to rereview the DR notes as to why you were denied. Then they have to redevelop your case for a new decision The other thing is that the VHA is not the VBA. So the two have to communicate. It seems in your case from what I read is that you are missing a nexus or stressor that lead to your denial Like I said, I really hate the system and came here to work because I couldn't keep a job elsewhere and and I wanted to help other guys as a therapy for me to keep my mind busy I am two years into my NOD because the cvso didn't have me do an intake before C&P exam I just contacted my advocate and now it will be several more months instead end of the year
  20. Congressionals DO NOT kick you out of place. I work congressionals for 19 facilities everyday. The VA takes them very SERIOUSLY If you really want to know why many decisions, not only C&P, take so long, look no further than the Vet We wade through so much BS that it takes time to gather facts from fiction. Frankly, I haven't met any vets who really know how the system works unless they work there
  21. Kubrick I work at the VA and can tell you that contacting a congress person will not knock you out of line. Usually when a congressional comes in, everything is dropped to come to a conclusion. The conclusion might not please you depending on the ethic of the DRO I deal in admin and help vets who can't pay copays. When a decision is made and the vet disagrees or if it takes forever to get to a waiver, some vets call thier reps and it goes to the Sup and it has to be handled at the congressional office or RC in some cases I have a 45 Gaf as well. My NOD is over a year old I think. My stressor is documented in my med records it was just submitted wrong Since you are homeless, you qualify for a hardship. Go see the PA at the hospital. Some vets get $$ help at times as well. If you don't have a rating, you have to do a MT to fall into a cat 4 status so you can be RX copay exempt. If you are receiving meds and inpat and not have a cat 4 or less you are still liable for copays. If you don't pay they will DMC or TOP any va or fed money you get to include tax returns Once you get a rating, any copays can be recovered for the SC through an audit by calling the HRC which is listed on your statement
  22. this was 27 years ago. I was TAD before going overseas and was jumped by some guys who didnt like the corps, me or my friends. The med records were from the civi hospital that saved me. I do not know why the records didnt follow, just the report of the healing scar. I have the cso in Milwaukee as a POA
  23. 10% shoulder injury 10% scar on said shoulder 10 % scar on stomach I am in a nod for the PTSD and a knee replacement. I was able to show 4 distinct training injurys to my knee. The doc who rating my knee was an internal med doc, not an ortho. I am in this position because the VA would not even scope my knee. This doc believes that there is some magical exit exam that takes place when I got out. I was on light duty all the way to my eas because I had shoulder surgery 3months before. My knee was not an issue then because I was no PTing. This doc say it was more than likely something that happened after service Needless to say, I am 46 with a new knee. I did see a private doc about it for the last 10 years and the VA knew it. He scoped me but it was too late as the spurring and meniscus tears had tore up my cartilidge. My private doc is the ortho teaching prof at the VA hospital here. He says it is more than likely because of service. the mental health was denied because I never went to intake. My cvso screwed there.
  24. I just was advised for the second time to stop treatment. 1st was in CPT and now the shrink ha advised me to stop the med treatment because I am unwilling to increase my dose of Pravasin. I was at 3 mil and she said it had to go much higher to take effect. I am unwilling to do this. I guess my demeanor had shaken her as she referenced my lack of eye contact and folded arms as hate towards her and the treatment. I got a letter today stating I have completed the program. Call if I want to do it again. My diagnosis is axis 1-Ptsd, severe, major depressive disorder axis 2-likely aspd. This is where find it to be BS. I was in choir, 4 year letterman and went to church regularly before I joined the corps. I was even religious lay leader in boot camp axis 3- various ortho problems, dyslipidemia, htn,ibs axis 4-chronic sx of depression and ptsd Axis 5-GAF 45 I am in a NOD because my CVSO put down mental disorder do to stabbing in the USMC and I wasnt rated at my c&p I dont understand half of this, can anyone shed light on what the dx means?? Is this enough to get some comp? TIA
