  1. Well filed for a SAH/SHA grant for my home this past November and it was pending awaiting my RO to send my disability rating to them. Five months later and I call to see the hold up and I’m 100% P and T for my TBI how is it difficult to pass the word from one building to the next. Well yesterday it went from that to Decision pending approval and now today it’s back to gathering of evidence. For a second I thought hey maybe this will go quicker the a disability claim, guess I was wrong. Anyone have any experience with the SAH grant for homes? And is the way mine is moving normal?
  2. I’m in this same eed bubble. I just requested my SSDI grant based on my health Military issues but was granted the same day they made me P and T. Meanwhile I still had two items on remand, my SSdI claim cites an issue that was remanded and denied two months ago and remanded then 3 issues for a third time. It is ridiculous they service connected migraines at 0 percent say the fracture never happened and treat the cause of my migraines by outsourcing it to a hospital who specializes in novaine shots to my nogging saying it was caused by residuals from this fracture. I don’t even care I’m getting the treatment but after my second issues is finalized I’m waoting to throw this appeal with the evdieemce from 2006 ex and 2017 and 2018 VA doctors. They know that once that connected they would have to change my EED I believe if you don’t keep fighting theyll do the bare minimum to see if you keep them in check see if they can get your dollars back without a word. Sorry for High jacking I do apologize and thank you for your service genuinely no recorded memo or tela prompter here.
  3. I’m perplexed like always shocked that that word came to me lol. But being IU Like you were they gave me SMC S I never filed for it it was part of my IU grant. I now think that it was a game that I wouldn’t say wait a minute this is P and T 100 % which they granted in as little as 1 month late due to a hardship and the regional office said wait my bad we are changing your decision before it goes to DC changed my decision to 100 P and T schedule man I’m glad I had an attorney then before he quit on me for email like 100 times a week for Abkut 2 years before I started treatment on prazac it actual works don’t know what it’s Doing to my brain or my liver but it helps my OCD wife’s notices the day I miss a dose 10 mg in the morning 10 at night not sure what’s a high dose. 20 of that and 20 of Ritalin to help my fatigue.and concentration with a mild improving of my headaches. But can anyone tell me how long this should keep up before my body starts to reject it. I wish it could cure my anxiety of my health I’m sure once I hit my 10 year mark for my wife and kids I’ll be fine.
  4. Course now I read unavailable now at the top of the screen ....
  5. Why can’t I figure out how to use ebenefits to sign up for life Insurance for my family? I’ve tried for months was hoping it was on ebenefits I feel like I’m computer illiterate trying to find it. No rush I’ve only been trying for about three months but didn’t want to ask and look dumb. But no shocker the only dumb one is me leaving my family in the dark if something bad happens with these experimental treatments they do for my sTBI I’m not going to bed tonight not because I’m afraid of needles. But unsure how this needle in my head is going to stop my chronic headaches which come when I’m fatigued, stress, think to much. Actually anything really they just happen so here I am venting to you all because my anxiety. Life’s good other then that and the family getting over pink eye lol when I click on the apply for insurance I get this glitch
  6. Not to sound like the odd ball but are You getting SMC S with your IU P and T.
  7. Submit them through ebenefits and yes bring them to your appointment for whoever to look at . They will and have at least all 3 of my initial increase and review reviewed what my doctors had to say.
  8. I don’t know but if you call the BVA they can tell you if the hardship was granted. If so that brings some comfort knowing your not on a wait list for years but maybe a couple months...barring remands which takes longer to get finished especially if the RO sends it back due to another denial on their part.. but it’s still worked on expeditiously
  9. also let me just say your not advanced technically until your notified by letter saying your claim has been advanced due to financial hardship...
  10. It moves into the list of all the other hardship cases awaiting there decision as well. A much shorter of a list but still in order as the earliest hardship case ahead of yours... does that make sense
  11. Staples that was easy.... for everything else there’s mastercard
  12. Well I’ll make my success story finally after confirmation that my SSDI is over and fully approved money hits the account on the 1st so tomorrow. SSA was at first i thought more difficult but after meeting the judge was understanding and sympathetic about my Severe TBI in service. DDS your just another file to get through quickly much like how the VA runs through our claims until the BVA gets it. I’m glad I am done with the majority and can now focus on my health and family. Thanks for always hearing me out...
  13. Take it from me if you ask your primary VA doctor and you’ve been seeing him enough he will have no problem filling it out your RFC not sure if they’re required. I had mine fill mine out but I too was denied twice and after that I hired an attorney. I am P and T as well 100 scheduler once your appeal is filed also call your local congressman. Have him put in an inquiry I googled to find mine with my wife they had me show them evidence of my rating. Once that was proven in July August my hearing was scheduled for December. Judge granted bench decision retro in bank by this February next week. Sometimes you gotta be your own best help it’s not uncommon to be denied twice it’s what I was always told and hated hearing that so then the estimated timeframes also piss me of you can’t give me an estimate when you don’t no specifics about my issues. I had two denials and a hearing granted in under one year for SSDI. Don’t let the time guesses or timeline get you unmotivated for proving your case. Once my appeal was filed with an attorney I immediately called my local senator and congressional which one or both put in inquiry to SSA and then only then did the hearing get scheduled the P and T didn’t help with my first two denials. It should have but it didn’t funny I’ve called very frequently to find when my retro will hit yesterday I was told 30-60 days this morning I was told in my direct deposit by Friday. Sorry if I’m hopping all around but make sure if your still going every month to the VA for treatment your records are current for the SSA judge mine looked at mine for the past year.
  14. I would definitely agree with this statement. This is exactly what I did for my new claim closed now but was granted P and T. It helps the doctor better understand a pattern or how a pattern exists if it does they’ll be the just. But you should have evidence with your timeline to show how factual it is and how it’s effected you in your lifetime. I waited after I was approved for P and T to file for SSA I just found out today my retro hits on Friday, it was very quick meaning just under 1 year from the time I filed my intial claim.
  15. Like I said not to be that guy that’s bring bad news. Ebenefits will be the death of us all having us constantly monitor our own claim is great when or if it ever will be accurate. Usually it’s one. Step behind off where it’s at unless your claim is closed and then you still have to wait on snail mail unless you have an attorney. But call the BVA status and ask them if you have a suspense date and or if it’s just in a phase waiting to go back to the VLJ. Might be surprised the woman there sometimes gives you alittle more info then allowed and she will tell you if it is a decision that is being processed or not. Sadly OCD got the better of me with the phone and emails and I know all 3 that answer the phone there to the point they just laugh when they hear my voice.
  16. Yeha it sounds good on paper but then again so does a DRO review....
  17. My first guess was 50% but I need more information are both mental conditions service connected?
  18. Not to be a Debbie downer but it might bounce back and forth a couple of times on my case it did this 3 times but it could also mean nothing at all then again it could mean it’s close to being a decision. The Va is very unpredictable no matter how many times you check ebenefits nothing is ever the same claim.
  19. If the government shutdowns does that mean no payments issued on the 1st? I can remember the last shutdown what happened...
  20. One last thing you may want to have a neuropsychological test done, that’s the test the raters look at that show your cognitive ability and also a recent MRI to see if there’s anything showing like cysts from your injury not sure what the other stuff that was in my MRI just the doctors opinion that it looks like the MRI who had suffered a severe TBI...
  21. To be honest I scanned my records after the VA diagnosed me with an adjustment disorder in 2017 then I found in 2006 2007 after my TBI I was diagnosed for it for the first time. I didn’t know this was a disability you can file for but when I did I filed for it just to see what happens. It opened a can of worms I was sent to 3 C&Ps for this AD issue one for PTSD, One for the Adjustment disorder, and one for my TBI. I gave up trying to separate after two years but they instead made me 100% scheduler and Permanent and total. I’m not sure if your TBI was as severe as mine I was in a coma for a month. But I am also unsure how many TBI injures vets are diagnosed with an Adjustment disorder after there TBI. Just a heads up of what to look for...
  22. I am just curious should I even bother filing for an increase on my severe migraines which is rated at 0% mostly because I didn’t at the time they ask know what protrasting meant? Now I’ve tried everything from acupuncture to taking topamax to being given Ritalin not because of something like Ritalin but because it brings relief to my headaches since the doctors think they are caused due to my cognitive impairment. Now the Va has sent me to a civilian neurologist to get shots of novacaine in the back of my head, a temporary fix so the doctor says.
  23. Also if you don’t have a doctor who states that opinion as I didn’t in my case they sent me to a C&P for what I filed my IU I lost my previous job due to my medical condition so my previous employer sent in the form they requested as evidence. This was what caused Them to send me to a doctor for C & P to state I can’t work due to my TBI residuals which is what they needed to hear...
  24. Now for the next TBI review came I had the exams from the two prior and my last TBi review done 6 months ago. I looked at her my wife drove me this time I said my last exam was not even close to being accurate she was like how so I said almost the entire thing. Prime example he said I had no scars he must not have been looking directly at me as I have a 3 inch tracheotomy scar in the middle of my throat she took pictures and the rest of my exam was a breeze my wife helped with what I couldn’t remember which was allot.
  25. The VA said what a minute his TBI review was six months ago send him to another C&P for his residuals, in the meantime I was able to get a copy of my exam before the PTSD review. And see how he listed by the symptoms it was exactly how I told him for once the doctor concurred. And the funny thing about both doctors is these doctors work in the same building so they could talk about what the issues were together. Obviously not Va employees this was outsourced to beD one in my hometown. So I went to the PTSD exam and brought in everything I had evidence wise movies of my dead friend from An IED blast screaming in pain on the gurney. I said this was what caused my PTSD not some TBI that was 3 years prior to this she was stunned agreed she had a copy of the other doctors notes her only difference was she was able to say 50 percent PTsd the other was 50 my she didn’t say anything about the Adjustment disorder.
