Westcoastlv, mine was done the same way. Mine was farmed out to San Antonio, Tx to expedite after the 80%. Awarded 80% in May 2012, I received the Big Brown Envelope and retro. Tdiu and 3 other contentions were deferred. Tdiu and other C&P exams in July 2012 and then I received the 2nd Big Brown Envelope and more retro in the beginning of October rewarding me IU/P&T. Then ebenefits showed "Administrative Review". And on December 19 2012 the claim was closed and the 3rd Big Brown Envelope arrived and retro on December 24, 2012. The VA had awarded me "Housebound". Monotonous as it may sound about having patience. Quite often "Good Things Come To Those Who Wait". Go fishing, it is very therapeutic. Good Luck To You!

Recently a female veteran friend of told me she was on the brink of homelessness. She was unable to work and suffers from PTSD and other physical ailments. She told me that the VA had denied her claim,so she will begin the appeals process etc. I offered her a room in my home and told her that I also had an RV if she preferred a little more privacy. It shouldn't get to the point where a veteran has to rely on successful results of the submitted claims. That was the least that I could do.

Mine just became available in the last 2 1/2 hours.

I asked my clinical psychiatrist, who was also the Director of my local outpatient clinic to give an IMO and she gladly did. I submitted this letter with my claim and also took it to my C&P exam with QTC. The psychologist at QTC also gladly accepted a copy of it. To tell you the truth, it helped my PTSDMST case immensely. Sadly this very fine Doctor left Texas and transferred to California. This was my initial claim and I ended up with 100% IU P&T w/SMC-S Housebound the first go round.

It's happened to me more than once, look to the column on the left and make sure that "Forums" has a check mark by it and not "Members". And below that mine is checked for "24 Hours". That way I see the most recent posts. Hope this helps you. And I hope he checks his PM since he probably won't be able to see this!

I think that you are on track with the nexus letter and diagnosis but make sure to get the sleep study done. Btw, Welcome to Hadit!
