  1. All four of my C&P exams were by QTC(Outside Doctors contracted by the Va). I would also suggest taking any pertinent copies of medical files from your active duty service to the exam but politely ask the Doctor if they will accept them. I took files to my Back C&P exam that pertained to a motorcycle accident that happened while on active duty. I also took Va MRI's. To my Psche exam for Ptsd I took an IMO from the Mental Health director at my local OutPatient Clinic and she accepted them.
  2. Here is another telephone # to Office of Communications and Case Management ...(202) 273-5674
  3. Welcome to Hadit! Thank you both for your Service and Good Luck in your Claims Process!
  4. So very sorry to hear of your friend's passing. I am sure someone here with knowledge on this situation will chime in soon!
  5. Here's an early Congratulations!
  6. I appreciate the reply, I spoke with my Daddy and he didn't like the side affect of muscle and joint pain. Yeah I just received the letter out of the clear blue....
  7. I received a letter yesterday from the MEDVAMC (Michael E DeBakey VA Medical Center)Houston, informing me of a change in medication. It appears they are switching from Rosuvastatin (Crestor) to Atorvastatin (Lipitor). I am wondering if this is nationwide with the VAMC or just Houston or on an individual basis. I haven't seen my PCP since my annual exam in January.
  8. I called the Dental Clinic in Houston on Friday and spoke with a very nice lady and requested Fee Basis for my Dental. It was later in the day about 4 p.m. when I called. To my amazement this same lady called not only called my home telephone number, but also my cell today (before noon) to let me know that I was approved for this. She even apologized for not calling me back on Friday! I am very pleased with the outcome for it saves me driving 116 miles to spend 1 hour in the dentist's chair and then make the return trip home. The long trip aggravates three of my service connected disabilities... Back, Cervical Spine and especially my PTSD (with the traffic and people causing me a lot of anxiety). To sum it up, Houston (the Varo and the Hospital) has treated me really good. If your service connected disabilities are aggravated by a long commute such as this I would suggest requesting Fee Basis. Now I will be able to use my local Dentist and not have to commute a little over 5 hours round trip.
  9. Boomer, Check your P.M. I first put out the Case Mgmt. tel# when my claim was adjudicated and it helped me tremendously....Btw ... I have another #.
  10. Flo, first off check your PM. I agree with John999's post from yesterday. My claim took 15 1/2 months but was a hardship claim and was expedited. I had DAV as POA but did most of the work myself because if I had listened to them 1/2 of my contentions would not have been filed to include PTSD which account for (70%) the bulk of my claim. I ended up with 100% TDIU plus another 60%. I am pleased with the 100% P/T w/ SMC-S Housebound. Btw, my claim is also out of Houston. My SSD took only 4 months. I can relate to what your going through ... People here at Hadit are here for you ... a shoulder to lean on ... and most of all really good advice on your claim. I attend a women's Ptsd/MST support group at my local VA outpatient clinic that has helped me with my anxiety and provides some commadrie. We are here for you at Hadit. Also, Welcome to Hadit!
  11. When I got my DV plates I could have gotten the DV plates with the wheelchair on it, but opted for just DV plates. While there I got the paperwork for the two blue placards and then took it to my PCP at my local outpatient clinic to fill out. Btw, this is in Texas.
  12. "Personal" or "Private Message".... It is the little envelope icon located to the left of your name @ the top of the screen where you sign in and out. Just click on the envelope icon.
  13. O.K.. I just checked and it is back up and running....
