  1. Can anyone get any info off of ebenefits? I can log in, but don't have access to letters etc....
  2. WOOHOO!!! A Big Congratulations to you Girlfriend!!! As Carlie always says "It is a Life Changing Event... Spend Wisely". I am so Happy for You! Like Pete says Keep checking your bank.
  3. All I can say is I got the brown envelope on a thursday and the money was in the bank the next day. No complications for me meaning no Dfas audit or anything to delay the process. That next day happened to be the "1st" of the month. Just look for the brown envelope....Check your PM.
  4. I received a call from B&B Medical Services out of Houston on Friday morning. They told me that they are going to be in my area on Monday February 25 and would like to arrange coming to my home with the Cpap machine. It has been a relatively quick process for me, considering the number of veterans still waiting. I would have thought that the Va would contract locally....... since I live 116 miles north of Houston, but ....... ? The Sleep Lab also called me on Friday.
  5. Btw, March's pay is showing up now on the "Va payment history" on ebenefits website.
  6. Sparkle, it appears that you were awarded 100% IU P&T. Mine is the same. I was awarded 90% and with IU it boosts you to 100%. You will get the 100% pay and it seems to me that you will get paid that on March 1, 2013. I also was awarded Smc/S. Another place that you can check on ebenefits is the Va payment history. Last month Feb. pay was posted on the Saturday (7 days before payday).
  7. Carlie, I appreciate you posting this! There was a time when I was in the military long ago and I came down on levy to go to back overseas. I had not been back the minimum 18 months stateside so I was able to remain where I was stationed with my girlfriend (of 10 years at the time). Btw, she was civilian and if the Army had this law in effect then maybe she could have gone with me. All I can say is it is about da%#@ed time.....
  8. Thank you Guys and Gals for the replies. Well, I went to the Sleep Study on Saturday night at 9:00 pm and was released at 5:00 am on Sunday morning. I had a total of 27 wires hooked up to me, and "Carlie you're right about the difficulty of getting the pasty glue out of my hair, especially with long hair. The technician started the air setting at 4 and then increased it to 11 during the REM stage. I agree with the other guy about it being like a hurricane blowing out of your mouth. She put the nose mask on me and it left some tender red marks. Other than that and the camera pointed at me everything went o.k. Now I am to wait on the Doctor to read the results and then they will order me a cpap machine. On the paperwork I was given it states a "contract" company will come to my house to help me get it set up. I will say that I felt a lot more rested and refreshed than I had in a very long time. I am anxious to get this cpap machine.
  9. On December 18, 2012 I took a device home from my local outpatient clinic. This device is the Va's "home sleep study." Well today I find out that I have severe sleep apnea. I was told that I had "22 episodes" in the 320 minutes of study. I am told that I had shallow breathing 75 times and that I quit breathing 53 times...... Whew.. no wonder I am tired all the time. I was scheduled for the sleep lab in Houston for June 12, 2013 (that was the soonest appt they could get me). So I call the sleep lab and ask her to call me when they have an opening. Alas! Fifteen minutes later she calls back to see if I could be there tomorrow night (1/26/2013). They tell me that only approximately 1 out of every 200 people will be scheduled for Houston after the outpatient home study (only the ones that are severe) for they have the apap machines in Lufkin. I am told that they will calibrate the machine there and I will leave with it. Is there any straightforward advice that I need to know and what to expect. Thanks.... Too many posts on the subject to sort through.....
  10. Mark, I must say that you are a veteran with a great sense of humor and a great personality. Hang in there fellow Texan I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  11. My Benefits Explorer also updated to reflect my P/T status which I was awarded on 10/04/12. If I were you I'd still be "cautiously" optimistic about ebenefits. Good Luck....
  12. Btw... Here are the Reasons For Decision: Entitlement to special monthly compensation is warranted in this case because criteria regarding Housebound have been met on account of post traumatic stress disorder with major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder and alcohol abuse in sustained remission granted total evaluation based on individual unemployability and additional service-connected disabilitity(ies) of degenerative joint disease of lumber spine, degenerative disc disease of cervical spine, and radiculopathy of bilateral upper extremities, independently ratable at 60 percent or more from January 28, 2011.
  13. My claim filed January 2011 was adjuticated in two parts...... May 2012..... and four items were finished on October 4, 2012 to include IU. But then my claim was complete but not CLOSED? Instead another claim opened by Houston Varo was listed on ebenefits as Administrative Review. Well, today I get another (this is my third one) Big Brown envelope in the mail. And low and behold Houston did the right thing by me and awarded me SMC. It states "We granted entitlement to special monthly compensation effective January 28, 2011 because you are housebound." I don't know what to say but.......... Yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
  14. @Doc-up8404.....When I got my rating in May 2012, it also stated something similar to "an exam will be scheduled at a future date to evaluate the severity of my service disabilities." But four items were deferred to include Back, Cervical Spine, Headaches and IU. It could be that they will evaluate you for Individual Unemployability. Those four C/P exams came on July 20, 2012 and July 30, 2012 and my award date was October 4, 2012. BTW did you apply for IU?
  15. @Papa... Yeah same thing happened to me when I got a printout of my future exams and found out that I have a Dental appt on January 17, 2013!
  16. Congratulations! I know that the Good News is a load off of your mind! And I bet you slept a little better last night.... Just in time to have a Merrier Christmas and Happier New Year! Now Take a Break and Relax...... O.K.? P.S. Don't forget to update your profile to reflect your new rating...
  17. Congratulations Abbie and Welcome to Hadit!
  18. I haven't checked ebenefits in a couple of weeks , so when I logged in I found this. "Change of Status: We determined that your claim needed additional review. If additional evidence is needed from you, you will receive a letter from us explaining what is needed. Claim Received: 11/05/2012 Claim type: Administrative Review. Estimated Claim Completion Date: At this time, your regional Office is unable to provide an estimated completion date for this type of claim. Has anyone ever had this? My claim recently was completed awarding me 100% IU P/T on 10/04/2012.
  19. I would say that it probably was to review the DBQ. JMHO. Hopefully that will be done sooner than later. Good Luck...
