  1. Has anyone filed a claim for sleep apnea associated with agent orange? Did they accept it?
  2. Has anyone filed a claim regarding severe leg cramps.
  3. I don't have a CAC card, a CIV card, and for some reason I'm not in DEERS. What do I do now?
  4. Does a C-File contain copies of all previous claims and correspondence with the VA? Also when you request your "C-File" on form 3288, does the VA know what you want? Do you request this info from your RO? What are VMAC records and 201 files? Sorry for all the questions. Still learning.
  5. My SO (American Legion) is looking over my file to see if they were in error when they denied my claim.
  6. Does the fact that they wanted proof injury was incurred in service mean they didn't have the info in making their decision?
  7. Would going the DRO route be better in my case? They denied my claim stating they needed proof my injury( problems with wrist that was fractured in RVN ) was incurred in service. This was after a c&p 2 months after I was discharged. I was a mess after I got back, I didn't know what to do, and obviously my SO didn't either. So her I am, rated 10% for my wrist, And feel they owe me retro back to 1/9/1970. Thank all of you for your service. NEVER GIVE UP!!!!
  8. jbasser You're right. What doesn't make it any easier, is when your VSO doesn't understand what the VA did wrong when they denied my claim 41 years ago. I feel I might have to do this part on my own. Of course, I'm a student of this site. I just have to put it together right before I submit my case. The input on this site is invaluable.
  9. How would you go about filing a denied claim error using 38 cfr 3.156 c?
  10. I called the 1-800-827-1000 number to get registered for Ebenefits because I'm not elegible for DS Login. I was told they would do it. I've now been waiting on the phone for 1 1/2 hours!! Is this the norm? Correction. 2 1/2 hours!!
  11. Do they need a copy of your marriage certificate? The Dependent form doesn't say.
  12. When I filed my claim the VSO didn't have me fill out a Dependent form. Will this be considered a new claim when I file the Dependent form and will they pay retro seeing I was married when I filed my claim?
  13. Can I get copies of any x-rays the VA has concerning me?
  14. Congrats to you and your family. Also congrats on the new granddaughter. Our newest grandson,Isaac,is due next month. My son,an Iraq veteran, lives in Colorado. The compensation I received will make it possible fo my wife and I to visit them more often.
  15. Berta. I got my formal letter yesterday. my award is as follows: DMII w/ed--20%, Diabetic PN left lower extremity w/ed--20%, Diabetic PN right lower extremity w/ed--20%, History of right wrist(this is my dominant hand)fracture in service: X-ray evidence of degenerative arthritis with any limitation of motion of the joint, Painful motion of wrist--10%. My biggest issue is with the wrist. They denied my wrist claim on 1/9/1970, saying they wanted me submit new and material evidence showing that my right wrist pains were incurred in or aggravated by military service. I just got out of service. What evidence could I give them other than my service medical records they had the day of my claim??? I' no sure if this is the right forum to discuss this. I did talk about this on Compensation & Exams.
  16. My thanks to all of you. Up until a couple of years ago ( I retired from the Gas Company--40 yrs.) , I would get my coffee and just look out the window and think about what I used to do before my PN got so bad. Now I get up every morning looking forward to learning more from this site and helping other veterans who are where I'd been for 40 years.
  17. I'm saving the retro to help me on future IMO's.
  18. I haven't got the envelope yet telling me how they rated my claims.
  19. I got a call from VA Services 2/19/2013 saying my claim or claims had been approved and to watch my bank account. I did and today the retro back to 6/2011 was there. I guess my monthly amount will show up later. This site is what has got me to this point. I read this site daily and want to thank everyone for their input. It has taken me 40 years to get to this point and I owe it all to this site. All I can say to those who are still having a hard time with the VA is "NEVER GIVE UP!!!!".
  20. I had a call from VA Services 8 a.m. 2/16/2013 saying I had been approved, but didn't know on what claims ( DMII, PN in both feet-secondary, Chloracne, Right wrist injury ( during x-rays of wrist and hand they found degenerative conditions in the hand that are secondary to my wrist injury--I had to file a supplemental claim for that ), and ED. I have not received a letter yet, but did receive a call from VA Services telling me they deposited my retro and monthly check yesterday 2/19/2013 and to call my bank to make sure it's there. I did and was told it probably would show up tomorrow in my account. I'm really interested to see how my claim was decided. The amount sounds like 60%. I will post the info you asked about as soon as I get my C file. I really appreciate all the info on this site. It helps me understand alot how the VA thinks and mess's with us. My prayers go out to all those who are serving and have served this country. I know my real fight is just starting with the VA and I have a long road ahead of me. I am currently helping a friend of mine who gave up on his claim.
  21. Sorry I took so long to reply. After I was denied 1/9/1970, this is what the VA wrote----"If you wish to reopen your claim for these conditions you should submit new and material evidence showing that your skin condition has increased in severity, and that your right wrist pains were incurred in or aggravated by military service. No further action will be taken until the above information is received." I told my DAV rep. the VA has all that info in their medical records. This rep. and every rep. until the rep. I talked to in OCT/2011 said they couldn't help me if I didn't have any new info. This last rep. filed my claim OCT/2011 and I had a C&P 2/1/2013. I do not have my C file. Only a copy of my medical records.
