  1. Recently, the VA changed part of my MH daily medication to lamotrigine (25mg). The first seven days I had to take a total of two 25 (mg)tablets. Then after the seven days I was told to increase to 4 tablets, which totaled 100 mg. After taking the 4 tablets along with a total of 300 mg of Seroquel, I was feeling a awkward so I decided to go and take a shower to cool off. When I got into the shower I felt a little dizzy, the room was spinning, and I felt like I was about to black out. I fell out of the shower and tried to brace my fall on the towel rack and hit my right hip on the edge of the toilet. The ambulance had to come and pick me up, and I suffered a contusion withing the hip area(currently on crutches). Any advice on how to add this as a secondary due to the medication? The doctor at the hospital did write in the notes that the side effects of this medication causes 54% of its patients dizziness, and that after my blood, and urine samples there was enough evidence to support that this medication caused me to black out. Now, I have been taking seroquel for of 8 months now and I have had no side effects from this. Thanks
  2. Well, funny thing in ebennies (benefits explorer) I am listed as a male..........and birth certificate list me as a female all my life......lol

  4. Good glad to see your response .........a female AirForce Vet.........
  5. 82 airborne..........continue with your treatment and don't give up. You are a blessing to us.......and we are to you. There are plenty of folks here on Hadit who are suffering too.........we can relate....... and if you need to vent this is the place to release it.........................Please take care of yourself.
  6. I have also filed for a dependency claim. I am going on 8 months now and waithing. My original award date was in July/2012. The claim for dependency is showing in ebennies completion date 8/2013. Should I submit another VA form 21-686c?
  7. This link contains some good information. Thank you soo much.
  8. I just checked my benefits explorer on ebennies, and noticed that that area changed completely my percentage is the same which is 30%, but below that it states permanent and total. I have filed for increases in August of 2012 could this be good news? Or does this mean something else. Thanks for all the help. I love HAD IT!!!!!!!
  9. I have a question for you all. I am currently rated at 30% for depression (anxiety, panic attacks). Today I went to my MH doctor who is licensed as a psychiatrist/neurologist. He explained to me that he wanted to completely pull me from working. He said he feels that I should not be working at all. I know that I can't file for TDIU unless I am unemployed. If I am on Family Medical Leave Act and not recieving any pay is that considered not being employed. I would appreciate all the help and advice I can get on this. Respectfully,
  10. Thank you for the new information..........and boo hoo for the dependency claims being placed on the back burner.
  11. Wow, I have also applied for my dependency retro-pay. I have submitted all of the information needed like: Birth Certificates, Social security cards, marriage license, and divorce decree. I filed with the Atlanta RO in July 2012 and Ebennies stated that I should recieve a decision by March 2013. I never thought that a dependency claim with sufficient evidence could be denied.......what a bomber

Don't give up ............keep on pushing............
  13. My personal opinion is that it is better to file now. Why wait later?.........There is still going to be a long wait no matter what. I filed a NOD with the ATlanta RO in June and I don't expect to hear anything until next year........
  14. Hello to all, Hopefully this question can help those who have recently recieved a decision letter. How do I interpret exactly what the VA has decided on this: My letter goes like this: What we Decided: Left wrist condition: The evidence does not show a current diagnose disability. Shin splints left lower extremity: "same answer as above" Shin splints right lower extremity: "same answer as above" Cervical spine condition: "same answer as above" Back pain: "same answer as above" Left and right knee condition: "same answer as above" Bronchitis "same answer as above" condition of the duodenum "same answer as above" Rash over body "same answer as above" Stress "same answer as above" Now does this mean that I am not currently diagnosed with these conditions with a current doctor? Or does this mean something else. Insomnia: The evidence does not show an event, disease or injury in service. This was part of my depression claim (insomnia) I am rated at 30% for depression, and anxiety.
  15. Hello to all, I am also on Seroquel 300 mg per night. If I take it in the mornings I am normally, drowsy within an hour. Lately, I have noticed that my hands, and feet seem to lock up. I don't know if this is a direct side effect, because I am also taking other medicaitons for my depression, panic attack, anxiety disorder.
  16. Thank you Pete53, Right now I am working (full-time) in a dusty warehouse. The position I hold is distributing material worldwide for all types of missions and I am required to operate heavy equipment, forklifts, stock selectors and other material handling equipment. Some of the material that we pick in the warehouse has been sitting on the shelves since 1952. The medications that I am taking now are Cymbalta, Seroquel, and anxiety/panic attacks medications (cant't remember the names). Sometimes while working I feel like I am in a zombie state and if I am idle at work I will fall asleep. Now, at night I don't have this problem because I am up all night (I may sleep 4 hours). I know that this is not good, but I have a family to take care of. I have used all my sick leave and I am currently negative 158 hours in the hole because of excessive amount of time taken off from work. I just recently went to the emergency room with an asthma attack. I haven't had an asthma attack since 2006. I also take albuterol as needed. My anxiety/panic increased due to the combivent and predisone that the hospital administered, and caused my heart to palputate on the EKG machine so the hospital kept me overnight. Finally, after numerous test the doctors stated that now I have a thyroid nodule 3 cmm, bronchitis, and heart palputation. After leaving the hospital, I scheduled an appointment with the VA for a follow up. The VA doctor tells me that I am either going to have to find another job or stop working, because the environment I am in is not healthy for a person with asthma. He explained to me that because of all of the machinery, and trucks backing into the loading docks the fumes are triggers and if I am having to use my albuterol more than twice a week then I need to consider finding another job or etc. ...My thing is that I don't really have a choice of where I am employed right now. I don't know how to handle this, because this is all I have right now. Am I able to file for TDIU or is it to early for me to do that?.......Or do I have to be unemployed the file for TDIU?..........Respectfully,
  17. Hello to you all, I am also 30% SC for depression/anxiety and panic attacks. I understand that insomnia and all the MH issues are pyramided in the same category. My question is concerning sleep apnea also. I just had a sleep study done through the VA and I was diagnosed with one of the sleep disorders (waking up at night) not sure which one. Can I connect the dots by filing a claim stating that the depression aggravated/or caused the sleep apnea? I know that I may not be wording this correctly..........Respectfully.....
  18. I am so happy for you. I can't wait to hear from my claim
