  1. Berta, When Bob Walsch says "get the form filled out" which form does he mean? Thanks.
  2. Thanks PR for recommending the manual. I looked at it online and decided to order it. I know it will help us.
  3. PR, Berta, Aletta and all: Thank you so much for all the great information! My husband and I have a lot to research. We will apply for the PTSD asap. The examiner said he would put PTSD in his report and that VA would probably ask for another C&P to confirm it. We claimed the depression in a letter to VA in 2002. He was taking medication for it. They didn't send him for a C&P, just denied it s saying it wasn't in his service medical records. We didn't know anything about VA then so we didn't know what to do. Thanks for advice on EED. We will research ship incidents and try to get his 201 file from NARA. Good Idea, Berta. They were horrific for the men exposed. We will also try to research the men he knew. He does remember within a few days of when the mortar fire at Danang airfield happened. They had to get in some kind of bunker. We will research the 2010 reg change. Thanks again for all the help. You all are doing such wonderful things for Vets. avcorpsman .
  4. My husband went for a C&P exam this week for depression, panic attacks and anxiety. I was there with him. He's a Vietnam Navy vet with boots on the ground. We were asking to get these conditions secondary to SC connected diabetes and neuropathy. The examiner said it sounds more like PTSD. He applied for depression in 2002 at the same time as diabetes but was denied. They said he needed new and material evidence to reopen. This time we asked for it as secondary, He's had problems for years. He was stationed in FL and on search and rescue had to pick up body parts after accidents over the water. On carrier in Vietnam saw and treated pilots whose planes virtually disintegrated crashing into the carrier. Doesn't know how to document this. He was close to the pilots because he routinely tested them for flight duty. also an incident when he was to be flown home. In Danang waiting days for a ride they took mortar fire. What should we do now? any help would be much appreciated.
  5. Thank you guys for the information. We will get him checked out by some private doctors. He was surprised that the VA found that the PN was just mild in his legs when he has so much pain and other symptoms. Also, they didn't even check his arms. We'll get his heart checked out too. He has dizziness and fatigue. We're going to pursue the 40% for diabetes because he takes insulin and he has a doctor statement that states that he must be vigilant with his activities due to low blood sugar episodes.
  6. Husband just received a decision granting glaucoma as secondary to his DMII, noncompensable. It says VA exam clarification is needed to fully evaluate this condition. Upon receipt of this evidence this evaluation will be reconsidered. A noncompensable evaluation is assigned unless there is a significant impairment of vision. He had a C&P eye exam. He's been seeing a private opthalmologist for his glaucoma and must use drops everyday to control it. He doesn't have significant vision loss so far. We read in the schedule of ratings for 6013 Open-Angle glaucoma that the minimum evaluation if continuous medication required is 10%. Does anyone know about this? He was granted an SMC K award for ED secondary to diabetes, so that's good. They ignored a request for increase in DMII rating and hypertension secondary to DMII. We sent a letter asking them to reconsider these. They scheduled a C&P exam for TDIU. He has 20% DMII and !0% PN in each leg now. He takes insulin several times a day, episodes of low blood sugar, has a lot of problems with his legs and feet, fatigue, etc.
