  1. Hi all: What forms of death are accepted by the va for service connected ptsd for dic eligibility? Thank you
  2. Hi all: I usually get my tdiu employment questionarre, va form 21-4140, by October/November every year. So far, nothing. Should I call VA so I don't lose my compensation?? Thank you. Mike S.
  3. Hi all: I am rated TDIU T&P PTSD. The meds and the ptsd don't allow me much ability to go out into public. Should I apply for HOUSEBOUND Special Compensation? Should I not bother because a new claim will open my case for review and "attack"?? Thank you, Mike S.
  4. Ricky: I could not have said it better myself. Mike S.
  5. Hi all: My review was supposed to be last July. I'm going to buy a trailer on a mortgage, but I need proof of income for the mortgage. I need an award letter from SSA to show the mortgage company how long I will receive SSDI payments. Should I go to the SSA office and tell them that I need a review so that a new award letter can be made?? Thank you!
  6. Hi all: I am TDIU T&P for PTSD. When I die, are there benefits that my wife can use? Thanks, Mike S.
  7. Hi all: I met a nam vet who paved roads in I Corp as one of a team of Seabees in 69-70. Recently, he got cancer in his sinus area. He said that he was told that the type of cancer that he has is not from Agent Orange, even though he said that his team worked in many areas that were heavily sprayed with AO. Can anyone tell me how to find out which cancers are approved as being caused by AO. Also, is there a list of AO sprayed areas and dates?? Thank you. Mike S.
  8. Hi all: Even though I am on meds for ptsd, I still have nightmares a few times a week. I recover from them better than I did before I started therapy but they are still pi**ing me off! Is there a medication that can help to get rid of them?? Thank you, Mike S.
  9. Berta: I don't understand about the tuition and stipend part. I though that under chapter 35, my spouse only received per month paymenbts of $827 full time, $621 three quarter time, $413 half time, or $206.75 for one quarter time. These payments go to pay tuition, bookss, etc. Other than those payments, there is no other help to pay for school. Is that correct?? Thank you, Mike S.
  10. Berta: I did just what you did but I did not have an e-mail address. I will send aout an e-mail right now. Thank you, Berta, you are always a great help. I'll let you know if they answer my e-mail. Mike S.
  11. Hi all: I filed form 22-5490 at the beginning of July to the Buffalo VA office for a Certificate of Eligibility for my wife. A week later, I got a short letter explaining that their office was working on my claim but that they are very busy. I have not heard from them since. I called their number at 888-442-4551 and got a recording that said basically that they are too busy to take my call. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get someones attention ???? Thank you, Mike S.
  12. Hi all: I am ptsd tdiu t&p. I think that I have agoraphobia but I am not sure. I stay in most of the time because I get real anxious just thinking about having to go out. I do go out sometimes, but I only last a short time before I begin to get anxious. When I am out, I get a little anious sometimes and sometimes I get a full blown anxiety attack. Over the past few years, I have told the VA docs about this. Am I agoraphobic. How would I file for agoraphobia as secondary to ptsd (I think I can do that)???? Any thoughts?? Thank you, Mike
  13. Hi all: I remember years ago that the va would deny benefits for ptsd if a vetern was drinking. Is that still true? Mike
  14. Hi all: A viet nam veteran at our local VFW showed me his award letter of a claim that a VFW S.O. had filed last year for PTSD. It said that the stressor could not be confirmed but that the stressor was corroborated due to in service medical and service records. I don't know what was in his in-service records, but I was surprised to see those comments. I thought that stressors had to be confirmed. Any thoughts?? Mike
  15. Berta: I am always happy to see you win. I follow your posts and I see all of the frustration that you live with in order to get justice for yourself and for others. So, when you do get a win, it makes me happy because I watched you work so hard to force the law to work for you. Remember, it was you who helped me get tdiu t&p and ssdi when my s.o. told me not to open a can of worms. You are always opening those cans of worms. Keep it up! Mike
  16. Hi all: Thanks for the info. I know what to do now. Mike
  17. Hi all: I'm taking neurontin, welbutrin, and zoloft for ptsd. My doctor says that welbutrin and zoloft should make me feel awake. But, I think that the neurontin is making me tired. Any thoughts?? Mike
  18. Hi all: My local VA outpatient clinic needs volunteers to do appointment reminder calls for 3 hours for 1 day. Could this become ammunition to take away my tdiu t&p status?? Thank you, Mike
  19. Hi all: My review date has come and gone, and still no correspondence from SSA. Should I do anything? Mike S.
  20. Hi all: Does my wife have to be matriculated at a college before she can receive this money?? Thanks, Mike S.
  21. Hi all: Mailed in VA form 22-5490 to Buffalo office for my wife's education. She is going to take one class at a time because she is working. Is there anything that I should know about the process that is not in the DEA handbook?? Thanks, Mike S.
  22. Hi all: Does a spouse qualify for Dependents' Educational Assistance if she has not been employed for 8 months?? I'm t&p. Thanks, Mike S.
  23. Hi all: The veteran was an intelligence operations spec. He was sent into the field for a short time to witness field interrogations because that was the best intell at the time. The murder of civilian females was not part of the training. I'm going to try to find some collaborating info for him. I found a va training video where the va uses other facts to corroborate a stressor without the stressor actually being on paper. Going back 34 years is gonna be real fun. The veteran has no computer and he has no computer skills. I'll do what I can with your help. Thanks! Mike S.
