  1. Hello again Berta. If you are not able to post your email address here please do contact me here vadisabilitycalculator@gmail.com,

  2. Hi Berta, may I have you email address? I'd like to send you a private message. Thanks!

  3. Please explain to me how you would determine a backpay amount that goes back 15 years, a marriage, a divorce, and the birth of 3 children without taking into account the changes in dependency? Your disability payment is partially determined by your dependent status. Try to calculate retroactive pay, or even monthly disability payments, without accounting for dependents. You can't do it. That is why the website asks for dependent information. I'm proud of my creation so I posted twice. Who cares? The moderators already corrected it.
  4. Thank you Broncovet. I totally agree!!! The VA issues out over 2 Billion (with a B) dollars in backpay every year. To see the month-by-month calculations the VA made, you have to request an audit. What do you think the error rate is on these payments? 5%, 10%, or even 20%? The answer is WE DON'T KNOW. Most disabled vets are just happy they got paid their lump sum so they never question the amount or get it audited. I am trying to change that process to add more transparency. So I created VAdisabilitycalculator.com so veterans can determine their own backpay amounts easily. I requested surveys to find out ways to improve on the calculator. By the way, the survey is optional.
  5. Thanks everyone who did fill out a survey. I received 14 surveys thus far with suggestions to improve the website. Thanks. Honestly, I don't know where this "trap" idea is coming from. The survey is sent through http://www.surveymonkey.com, which is a third party that does surveys anonymously. This company has over 15 million customers and has been around since 1999. The calculator asks about dependent information because many things can change while waiting for the VA to decide your claim. For example, if you were married or divorced while waiting for your claim to be decided, it will affect you backpay amount. This is how the VA calculates backpay and the calculator was designed to follow VA regulations. I understand that this information is personal and I do not collect this information. If you don't want to fill it out, then don't. I'm going to keep on making improvements to make this website better. If anyone would like to help (I don't get paid for this you know), then send me a message.
  6. OK. I removed the survey. Seriously though, there are probably 50 posts floating around online from people asking about how much backpay they might receive. And for everyone who posts, there is probably another 1,000 who have the same question. Over 800,000 vets will receive retroactive disability payments from the VA in 2013. For at least 16,000 disabled vets, that lump sum payment will be over $25,000. And what happens when the VA makes a mistake? If the veteran doesn't request an audit, how will the veteran know if they got paid the correct amount? And what about the veterans still waiting to receive their new disability rating and the retro pay that comes with it? They often have 3+ years of retroactive payments to add up that span between 10 different pay scales. Dude, that's a lot of work! I know because I did it myself. I created vadisabilitycalculator.com to allow disabled vets to calculate their backpay amounts quickly and easily. Unfortunately, the calculator is far from perfect. It needs feedback from knowledgeable people in order to make it better. The survey was meant to get feedback to correct those problems. Thank you for letting me know the popup survey was too much, too soon. It has been removed. You can still leave feedback on hadit.com or the optional survey button on the side of the calculator.
  7. Hi guys, for a while I didn't know that anything I was shorted over 2k in retroactive disability payments. Then I was kicking some numbers around in my head and I realized the back pay amount didn't make sense. After doing the calculations on my computer, I was on the phone with the VA faster than a speeding bullet. I am now expecting another payment of over 2 thousand dollars. To help you calculate for your retroactive payment, I've created this website www.vadisabilitycalculator.com/back-pay-calculator. Try it for yourself and please give some feedback or comment. Thank you!
  8. Hi there. You can compute for your retroactive payment here www.vadisabilitycalculator.com/back-pay-calculator. It's not an official calculator but it could help you calculate for your retropay. Before I was actually shorted over 2k in retroactive disability payments. For a while, I didn’t know that anything was wrong. Then I was kicking some numbers around in my head and I realized the back pay amount didn’t make sense. After doing the calculations on my computer, I was on the phone with the VA faster than a speeding bullet. I am now expecting another payment of over 2 thousand dollars. Give it a try and please give some feedback or comment. Thank you!

  10. Hi guys, being a veteran myself, I know the issues we veterans face. One of those issues for me was the difficulty in calculating VA disability retroactive payments. So I've created this website www.vadisabilitycalculator.com/back-pay-calculator to help out the disabled veteran community. Check it out and compute for your retroactive payments in only a few seconds. Can you tell me if it works and can you please give a feedback or comment? Thank you!
  11. I have found a few doctors who will do IME's but no websites that allow users to compare and rate multiple IME doctors. A review site for doctors who specialize in VA IME's would be helpful. It is just too hard to find these doctors. Does anyone know of such a site?
  12. Yeah, I would wait until the C&P exam results come in before scheduling the IME. Expect to see some ommissions and errors on the C&P report. A well done IME will address the faults on the C&P that may lead to a reduced rating. Be prepared to wait 1-4 weeks between the C&P exam and the time the C&P report is available.
  13. I received a notification of decision November 2012 and the money hit my bank January 2013. The retroactive pay was over the 25k threshold that Berta mentioned. Some delays vary regionally.
  14. Congrats! The battle for benefits is over. :-)
