A statement was made that this only applies to disability severance? Can the tax I paid last year on involuntary separation pay ($25k) be recouped as well since the VA is taking the non-taxed amount back ($75k)? I really feel taken for having to pay taxes on money I don't get to keep. Thank you so much for your time and any assistance!
