  1. Hi. I filed my claim in April 2011 and received my rating in Nov. 2011. Surprisingly, I didn't agree with their decision and filed my NOD. Because my claim was filed while still on AD, there are parts of my medical record that weren't rated and I was told I have to file a new claim. Wtih that being said, I was rated on my C-Spine... ultimately, I received 20% for 2 surgeries that were done by the Air Force for herniated discs. (and 10% for Depression NOS) The first was a prosthedic disc placed (vs. fusion) to "enable me to continue to have full range of motion." And the second was to remove that prosthedic disc (pressing on nerves and caused another herniated disc) and fuse C4-C7. The end result was as bad as before the surgeries; needless to say, I was permanently disability retired from the USAF after 6 years of service. Anywho, the decision gave me a 0% rating for the scar on my neck and denied for radiculopathy. (plus a few other things that are directly related to the surgery and my c-spine.) Longer story short, my AFSC while AD was administrative in nature (Mental Health Technician) and have noticed more and more symptoms (haven't gotten it diagnosed yet) of Carpal Tunnel. I have read that in some ratings it is found to be rated as a result of similar problems as mine (c-spine). Advice?
