  1. Thanks for the replies ! Would it help considerably at my next appointment with my psycholigist to have him fill out a Mental health DBQ ? Thanks !
  2. I submitted a claim in January for PTSD,Depression & anxiety. I've submitted plenty of evidence as to seeing a psychiatrist & psycholigist at my local VA clinic. I also submitted medical records dating back to 2006 complaining to my private doctor of my issues due to the GW. Private doctor had me on several meds including Zoloft,Seroquel, etc; On ebennies my status is under review and I have gotten 3 letters in the mail from my VARO that they are sorry about the delay but they are still working on my compensation claim. My question is should I have been scheduled for a C & P exam by now or are they still deciding if I have a valid claim ? They have plenty of medical evidence from my private doctor and from the VA docs to support my claim. VA psychiatrist prescribed me Clonazepam and Effexor, was on Bupropion but gave me a bad rash and they switched me to the Effexor. How long does it take to review and get a C & P exam underway ? Thanks !
  3. meghp0405, Hi ! How will the VARO in Chicago know about my diagnoses from my local VA clinic social worker and psychologist ? I filed my claim January 25th and have yet to be set up with a C&P exam,is this a normal amount of time to wait ? According to ebenefits my claim is in the 2nd stage which is "under review". Do I need to print out from myhealthevet my diagnosis from the psycholigist as to my anxiety & depression(he stated to my spouse & I it's definetely service conneceted) and send that to the VARO in Chicago ? Thanks !
  4. First, Thanks for your replies !!! This NEXUS is it aso called a DBQ or something like that ? I have an appointment with my psychologist in the next week or 2,hopefully he will fill it out for me.. Thanks again fellow vets !!
  5. Is there a form I need to fill out and submit to make an amendment ? Thanks !
  6. I already filed a claim for PTSD in January. Would it slow down the process to add a claim for major depression & anxiety with a FDC ? Or should I wait and see what happens withe PTSD claim ? VA Psychologist diagnosed me with major depression & anxiety instead of ptsd. Prescribed 2 meds. for the depression & anxiety thru the VA.
  7. I don't understand what you mean by nexus. Does it mean a service connection ? So just submit a secondary claim for the major depression & anxiety? If I do I will submit a fully developed claim this time. Thanks for the reply!
  8. I submitted a claim for PTSD. My personal doctor in their notes assessed me with major depression & anxiety and I sent their records with my claim. I've been going to the local VA clinic for a few months now and the social worker and psycholigist and psychiatrist have diagnosed me with major depression & anxiety as well. The psychiatrist prescribed me Clonazepam and Buprpion thru the VA med program. The psycholigist gave me a GAF of 60 but the psychiatrist hasn't updated his notes in myhealthevet yet, just seen him last Friday. My 2 questions are : Should I print out the notes from myhealthevet and submit them as evidence and is claiming PTSD gonna get me denied since I have been diagnosed with major depression & anxiety ? Thanks for your time. USMC 1987-1991
  9. Yes I filed the traditional way. I have SWA service medal. By FDC do you mean the new fast track method?
  10. Thanks for the reply Carlie ! I have one question for you. I submitted the 21-526 online and where it asked the disability I was claiming I claimed PTSD. I went to my private psychiatrist back in June for an evaluation(90 minutes). I requested my mental health records here recently and received them the day after I filled out the 21-526 form and her diagnosis of me in AXIS 1 is mood disorder. Is this gonna be an issue since I claimed PTSD on the 21-526 form ? Should I submit her evaluation to my VARO or just wait til they schedule me for a C&P and let them do their diagnosis. Thanks again for your time and the reply ! My GAF on the evaluation she gave me is a 60.
  11. I am currently in the process for claiming compensation for PTSD. I filled out the VA 1010 form online and checked the box where it asked if I wanted an appt. with a Dr. I have an appt. at my local VA clinic and they (VA) sent me a appt. reminder paper,It says 10-10 clinic on it. I called the local clinic a couple days ago and asked the lady if they can do a c & p exam there and she stated yes they could but I might be referred to the VA hospital. Does this sound right ? I should be receiving my private medical and mental health records anyday now. Do I need to fill out the VA 21-526 form now or do I wait til later ? I noticed on the form that they want a date of my disability for PTSD,how do you establish a disability date for PTSD ? Also should I take my private doctor records with me to this appoinment ? I hate to ask so any questions, but my VSO won't return my calls and he said he would take care of this. Thanks !
