  1. Thanks infantry 10 and free_spirit_etc.........need all the blessing that I can get........will keep you guys posted...
  2. I filed my claim in Aug 2012, which also includes a dependency claim. My claim was sent to the temporary jurisdiction located in SC from the Atlanta RO and was in the preparation decision phase for over 6 months at the Atl RO. The crazy part is that when the claim arrived at the SC (Columbia) it went back to gathering of evidence phase. Two days ago it jumped to the pending decision phase. After almost 14 months, I am scared now because it is moving pretty fast now. My mindframe is to just expect the least, and maybe it will turn out for the best.
  3. Not trying to be disrespectfully,,,,,,,,,,but can any of the moderator's remove my message from this thread. I don't want to offend anyone (even though this is a public forum). Respectfully
  4. I have a question about Major Depressive Disorder and PTSD. I understand that there is a pyramiding process when being evaluated by both and they both can fall into the same category as far as the percentage given for disability. Does one help the other when the rating comes into play? If I was just diagnosed with MDD only would the rating be the same, even if I was diagnosed with the both. What I mean is since I was diagnosed with both is there a possibility for a higher rating.
  5. I'm sorry. Intially, I put my dependents in at the same time of the claim on the form 21-686c. Then had to add my dependents shortly after my intial award in June 2012 (again). I am constantly getting the run around, with the same old blah blah. I don't understand why this process is soo long. I understand the backlog of claims. I just don't understand what is the hold up on back pay for dependents. I have twins who will turn 18 in January of next year. It is so frustrating to know that there is a possibility that the VA will take them off as a dependent until I furnish more information of enrollment. My children are still in high school, until June of next year.
  6. I submitted my claim for dependency after my intial award (June 2012) of 30% a few days after I realized they were paying me at a single rate. I had submitted all of the necessary information along with the original claim in the beginning. I even called the 1-800 number to get more information on the claim here in GA. I even remember reading here on Hadit that dependency should not be treated as a claim but as an ancillary benefit. They continued to say that it was a claim. Of course I know that normally the projected completion date is 99% of the time wrong. This should be a fairly easy process. I believe that the VA does this and hopes that you don't file for your dependants. It is sad to say I know some people who have gone on for years without their dependants added. The sad part about this is that I have 17 year old twins and they will turn 18 in January of next year. I'll bet that once my girls turn 18, I will then get a decision and then they will ask me to send in more information on schooling, ( which will delay the process again).
  7. Hello to all, I finally recieved copies of my C&P exam for claimed conditions. I actually went in for increase on MH, and add new contentions foot and toe conditions;rhinitis and sinusitis; and headaches. Here are the results: Choose the statement that most closely approximate the etiology of claimed condition: A. (X) The claimed conditions was at least as likely as not (50 percent or greater probability) incurredin or caused by the claimed by the claimed in - service injury, event, or illness. C. Rationale: ----Claimed conditions were corroborated as having to occurred during service with a cited diagnosis of Allergic Rhinitis, Chronic Sinusitis, heel blisters, headaches, skin rash(less than 5 % of neck and body). Results of MH: Occupational and Social Impairment with occasional decrease in work efficiency and intermittent periods of inability to perform occupational tasks, although generally functioning satisfactorily, with normal routine behavior, self-care and conversation. GAF score 60 What do you guys think?...........
  8. I have been going to a local VA clinic in Macon, Georgia for two years now. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can immediately request medical documents from a the local VA clinics after a visit? Because the clinics are not like the VA Hospitals where I can go to straight the FOIA desk. I am asking this question because I have already made a request for my C-files, and C&P exams and have not receive them. These documents would be helpful since I have filed for an increase. Thanks HadIT
  9. Divorce doesn't have anything to do with it.......but make sure that you have provided the VA with all marriage license, divorce decrees (all marriages, and divorces that you have had), birth certificates, and social security cards (for all dependants that you are claiming)......the allotment for dependants will be added accordingly to your disability rating 30% or abouv, meaning that your payout amount will increase every month. .
  10. Congratulations to you and your family! I have been complaining about a dependency claim in now for 9 months. There is light at the end of the tunnel. :)
  11. Evening all, I am experiencing the same thing in GA. My ancillary (for dependents) is being treated as a claim. It is listed in ebenefits currently in gathering of evidence. I have presented all the documentation three time, including to my VSO. Does anyone know who I should contact in the state of GA. Thanks to all
