  1. Happy Day as far as sleep goes.  Gotten some much needed shut eye with this COVID fiasco.  Now if only my others issues would start following this same track.  Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.  Just gotta keep saying it and living it.

  2. whoa 2 night good sleep maybe I am out of my "not getting enough solid sleep" rut.  Yippee here's to hoping.  Have a good day everyone.

  3. Actually got some rest tonight. the meds, herbals , and sleepy time tea, help finally.  Although, I suspect the antibiotics, green herbs, and medicines, helped out the most.  The quarantine is my biggest hurdle now.  Sleep is getting better, throat and head pressure is going away slowly, so al in all it's good. Only two bummers, water lines froze in the back of the house and its way to cold to ride my Vespa.   Nintendo Switch and books to the rescue.  Well and reading and posting one of my favorite sites.   Stay warm brothers and sisters and try to stay healthy.  COVID sucks eggs.

  4. COVID crap I fell into the numbers and I am bummed.   Even with all the shots and boosters and mask buying I still got smacked.  I got it from a relative that I was visiiting in NY.  I knew the chances and well odds were not in my favor.  Dance with the devil in the pale moonlight, well you tend to get forked.  Oh well pressing on.  More pills, more shots, more Z packs and antibiotics.  Anyone for a ride,  scooter ride that is.  Sporting a Vespa now a days.

  5. I gotta get on a regular sleep cycle again woke up like 115 am and still up.  Sheep where are you?  baaahhhhhhh

I have sleep problems and falling asleep is one sometimes . My provider said one thing to try to do is shift your thoughts to something easier to handle. Try thinking of 5 things to see, 4 things to hear, 3 things to feel, 2 things to smell, and 1 thing I can taste. You repeat if you get thru it without going back to sleep. If you continue the practice, it is an easy substitute for you mind to relax to and it may work. There are similar mind games you can find and try. Just pick one and stick with it for a while. Gotta try something, right?

I will try that. Good suggestion.  Last night I had some CBD and some Xanax but I will definitely try this approach.

So I tried this approach and it helped.  A bit more complicated than counting sheep but the approach works very well.  GB thanks for the tip. Hope you are well.  Sorry I took so long to reply but I have tried it several times since then and it works like a charm.  I was impressed.  It is an efficient way to diffuse and calm your mind. Thanks again

  6. Congratulations on the win. GERD I hear you? Especially get worse when things have you all scatter brained, (my experience). Good to read about your success when I'm up at 2 in the morning again. In any case congrats and maybe I'll give good news on my GERD rating some time in the VA hamster wheel future.
  7. Sorry Hamslice, It will get better, in the end of the shenanigans, they, the VA, will tuck tail. Hang in there brother, you will prevail. Stay tough.
  8. Another one of those nights.  This crap sucks. I even took a dose to help me sleep woke up again at 1ish in the morning.  Jeez.

  9. Crap another one of those nights, is it 5 or 6 now.  damn it can't keep track and I'm slowly loosing it I believe.

  10. Yup the $85 is a bit much but not really, the pre check status lasts 5 years. The process was fairly easy. I went to a Staple's in Southside OKC and the process was quite painless. If they pass that legilation for disabled Veterans mentioned above that would be sweet.
  11. I hate these nights were I wake up and can't fall back to sleep.  I have quite a few things on my plate and they have been weighing heavy on my heart and mind.  Oh well, things could be worse.

  12. Can't sleep again,  4th time this month.  Too much stress lately with VA and family.  Tough decisions ahead and consequences will forever change life for me.

  13. Good to know. Great info. It is hard to believe that this day an age things are more streamlined with the use of electronic data, then again not surprising. My recent hearing verified a few records that were not the most current. Imagine that, that is why it is imperative that you confirm the most recent evidence was used to adjudicate the claim.
  14. In my claims when I did have an attorney, there were a few items that were not in my CFILE copy he had access to. Not sure whether it was just a lapse in date intake or what. But just I have experience before its best to get multiple access points to your records and compare. Your CFILE, your service records, VA medical records, and private medical records. If the information has been requested to be shared between all these they should coincide with each other eventually without a great deal of lag, but alas Murphys law.
  15. So how about that Long Island Iced tea?  Anyone have any custom recipes?   I might just have to rekindle that taste craving.  Maybe I'll settle for an alternative? Still non alcohol suggestions would be welcome as well.

  16. BVA Hearing went well. Hips may be service connected, rhinitis and sinutitus won't be service connected.  Hypothyroidism may be granted under the new 30% rating with myxedema absence.  This is half of my claims left to appeal.  I will see if this will be concluded within the year.  Most likely not so prepping to try to go for P&T.  I retired in 2015 but I know I have an C&P examination set at 5 year anniversary of my last win.  Hamster wheel again.  But I did pour some epoxy on that wheel with the hearing. At least I hope I did.  It is difficult to read people across video conference especially when you get disconnected during the last portion of your hearing.

  17. Finally, my Board Hearing is today, but I can't freaking go back to sleep.   This is going to be interesting.  My hearing is today at 1245.  I hope I am clear headed enough.  My stomach is in knots and my eyes and head feel like they are throbbing.   Geesh.

Slow is smooth.. Smooth is fast.  squeeze that trigger, don't pull.

May the Hammer of Justice rule the day!

Man I hope so.  The hearing went well, but that doesn't mean anything until I see it in black and white.  The Board has had the information before and all it got me was a remand for the VA Regional Office to lie some more.  They discounted my evidence and did not service connect my claims before.  But heh maybe the face to face brings up reasonable doubt this time to award me.  Doubt it, I may have to pay for another IME since they are discounting my personal physicians.  This is all a big circus.   I am with you, I hope the hammer of justice does fall in my favor.

  18. Information is power. Power over the VA. Another way the VA tries to get the upper hand. Imagine the possibilities of seeing everything in your file and be able to rebuttal all of the VA misdoings in your claim process. Makes me wonder all too much.

You'll be fine. You have been working this for many months if not years. Read over your claim and practice on the points you want to point out.

      Good luck to you.

Thanks GBArmy.  I just wish I could sleep and be rested but alas it is what it is.  I have been and will work on my points.  It is all I can do at this point.  Never Give up !

  20. Been a while.  This COVID crap and all the craziness in the world has had me baffled, so much for progress, although, while skeptical and cynical, can't help hoping for better times. If life throws you lemons, make Long Island Iced teas? : )

      Welcome Back ArNG11

good to see you on hadit   where the heck you been buddy?

Did you get all your claims approved? I was wondering what happen to you??.

yeah this covid has things all in a turmoil  I just stay home and only get out when I absolutely have to  and do social distancing   wear my mask wash my hands more and more  and just hope for the best.

      Anywayz  Welcome Back.

Been living in Oregon, medicating with natural meds, reading about all the chaos and laughing at the VA and all their games. Kind of fell of the social grid a bit.  Dementia, never filed for that, but after the BVA seems  the VA took it upon themselves to add this to my claims.  Shennanagans trying to setup to discredit my testimony is my guess. Same old same old.

Wow.  I tend to do the same and stay home that is, only go out when I need to pick up the wife, food runs, same old stuff or when I get bored which is a lot.

With the claims I think I have the hips locked in, got to get some new ratings on the thyroid applied, and revisit some others but almost done.  I'll stop when Im total and permanent, with housebound. File for higher SMC when the time comes hoping not to get that bad but you know the drill.

It's nice to chat with people who remember you, this lockdown crap, has made me bitter and lonesome.  It blows.  How have you been? Always busy in the forums I see.  Thats great, Vets will always need help fighting.

BVA Hearing seemed to have gone well. At least for the higher thyroid ratings of 30%, hips I made my case but I didn't  get a real definite answer.  I mentioned the two favorable IMEs for the hips but this is a crazy circus as you well know. GERD is going to be another hearing I imagine.  with the regulation change I should eventually get 30% for GERD without myxedema. Now the waiting game and if all goes well the long wait for the regional office to implement the awards.

  21. Hoping all have a safe and enjoyable Veteran's Day. Stay safe, be thankful, and keep fighting.  Never Give up.

  22. Yes, I am still some what active in the Forum just not on here very often any more. With the ITP if you have records of it in service, a medical opinion and nexus, current treatment records, you will be golden. There is a lot of literature out there regarding the condition.
  23. Reading and re reading my BVA decision and it's what should I say and call it,  perplexing at the least.  It seems that while private medical records and private evaluations, in my claims, while those records paint a higher disability picture, the only evaluations that are used for the rating of disabilities is the VA bogus C&P.s  What happened to evaluation of ALL evidence,  the higher of two or more evaluations, SMC S and so forth.     Irritated and disappointed to say the least.  Partial grant, partial denial, partial remand.   On the damn hamster wheel again.   WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT!!!!
