  1. ps.. the going rate for a full panel drug test can cost between, 300 and 2200. bucks. so do the math. I guess theres big money in Piss.
  2. I would refuse it if the VA doesnt have you on a narcotic contract. The VA contracts the urine drug testing. In the spirit of chronic historical fraud , waste and abuse, it wouldnt surprise me if there is some company making a ton of money from doing VA drug testing. The VA cut almost everyone off of opiod pain meds, but continue to drug test.. I smell a rat. The last time I went in, they gave me a cup to pee in. I asked the phlebotimist what it was for. I was told drug UA . So I took the cup home with me, and called the patient advocates office in Temple tx asking why I was still being tested after being discontinued from the opiod therapy, for over 2 years. I have not gotten an answer after several follow up phone calls./ Im being ducked, and dodged. If you are not being prescribed narcotic pain meds from the VA , I cannot think of any reason for them to drug test you.
  3. Does anyone know what they are asking for on the top of the form where it says STATION LOCATION. ?
  4. your exit physical is not the time to be BADASS , TOUGH GUY. !!! lay your burden down on that doctor.
  5. MAKE DAMNED SURE that any and all injuries and ailments you currently suffer from are documented on your current problems list on your exit physical. If you sustained a back injury 10 years ago and it still bothers you AT ALL you let them know. and make sure its on the list. Even if you think its not due to service, Dandruff, rashes, acne, itchy testicles, atheletes foot, heartburn, ringing ears, poor sleep, aching joints, dry skin, hemmeroids, hernia, hypolipydemia, headaches, ect I dont give a rats ass, you list it. TRUST ME, ITS IMPORTANT.
  6. DEPLETED URANIUM IS THIS GENERATIONS OF VETERANS AGENT ORANGE! Has anyone else been contacted by the VA and DOD requesting to study you ? It seems the VA is trying to lead people in the direction of Sarin gas exposure, but the real killer is the depleted uranium
  7. isnt it AMAZING how effiecient and fast the VA can move when they are trying to take something from a Veteran?
  8. the Dr can do some testing, like testosterone in the testicals, and brain,. but its not conclusive.there are many variables, everyones different. Its hard to get "randy", if you have things weighing heavily on your mind. the smk is called... " loss of use of creative organ". or something to that effect. Im surprised the Va isnt putting penis bands on people yet, and making them watch erotic movies to measure arrousal. heck nothing surprises me anymore. Viagra does help, some people.. the VA has cut the pills down to 2 a month. if you cut them in half, you can halfway get off 4 times a month!!! hurahhhh. hurahhhh.. . I guess its ok for the VA to waste billions on bullshit, but when it comes to a vet having congical happiness, theyve decided you get 4 shots at it a month.. ,
  9. TDIU with your back problem as the primary ailment is the way I would go, because chances of "fixing" your back are practically ZERO. Chances of them monkeying with you abt your Ptsd, in the near or far future, is more likely. I would file for TDIU immediately and see if you can start working part time, so your back isnt injured further, your pain level isnt aggravated, and your depression isnt worsened. This is just general advice, every claim is different, hiring competent representation is the way to go..... pm me, I know a guy.
  10. my second question would be, when a veteran is vetted into the VA system and allowed earned healthcare , is the veteran assigned to a particular section, person, team , of the VBA side, just as with the VHA side, Ie Green team, maroon team, ect. what is protocol for picking up the veterans benefit eligibility, is it triggered thru Vacols, ect.. no need to answer here, lets save it for the radio show. maybe others have particular questions as well.
  11. good info, thanks John. the more we know, the more vets we can assist.
  12. all real doctors have whats called an NPI number, what I would like to know, is if there is a database, to see if any malpractice claims, or settlement actions were ever levied against them, either in VA circles, or private sector settings. I believe in the patients bill of rights set forth in the Va, we as patients have the right to participate in all of our healthcare decisions, and choosing competent, NON " stooge doctors who deny patients healthcare in order to save ins companies money" AND are in my opinion, likely to deny veterans healthcare and compensation, in order to save the VA money. I encourage everyone to google your health care providers names, they came from somewhere, they didnt grow them in the basement. you might find out some interesting things.
  13. Buck I believe this is a very important missing link that must be explored. it is a huge part of the continuity regarding claims. if the Health care providers are not doing thier part, nobody is there to take up that slack/. When you google your health care providers name, who now works at the VAMC, but previously worked in the private sector, and read reviews on them that say " this doctor is a stooge, who denies patients healthcare, in order to save insurance companies money".. you might have a problem. """ YES , MY DOCTOR!!!! These doctors have nothing to lose if they are not doing the right thing, the Va has a shortage, so chance of getting fired is almost zero, they are not required to be licensed in the VA system, they can bring in a medical diploma from almost anywhere and the VA will hire them, they cannot be sued, they are overworked, they are on salary, so they are paid the same if they are duds or rockstars, the HIPPA laws protect them from self incrimination, patient advocated will not even confront or question them abt possible mistakes or wrongdoings.
  14. to be a little more clear, the way I understand that an inferred claim works goes like this. Ok Joe Veteran is service connected for a blood disease. he is rated at 30 percent/ then he gets deathly ill due to the blood disease, and spends 4 months in a hospital. Joe veteran is fighting for his life, and isnt capable of initiating a claim for increase but is certainly entitled to the increase in compensation, whether it be temporary or permanent. SOMEONE or some dept inside the VAMC must be responsible to recognize, and induce the claim for the veteran. it should be " inferred" .. So that is what im asking.
  15. I am trying to learn the internal mechanisms that occur inside the VAMCs regarding the induction of claims and C&P exams. Also are there regulations that are supposed to be followed by the health care providers. Evidentally there much be some kind of process in place, that the Health care providers follow, or are supposed to follow, that initiate claims. For example. I was rated at zero percent for a service connected condition. I got very ill, sought treatment, got treatment, then at the end of treatment, the NP that was treating me, set up a C&P exam, inside the Va to get a higher comp rating. I have also witnessed C*P examiners directly call the benefits branch of the VA from thier office.. So im positive that there is some kind of continuity, what I want is a concrete procedural flowchart of sorts, or explaination of how this exactly it works. I have heard the term, INFERRED claims as well. How does the healthcare provider, decide when and how to get involved in claims> and are they trained in this aspect. Information gained or shared on this process, could get many veterans service connected, if there is indeed a process governed by law, that is not being followed correctly.

  17. tell your husband that there are many great veterans on this forum, that want to help him any way we can. Buck gave u some great advice. something I would also consider, is hiring a benefits agent, to take care of the claims process, so you and your husband can work on his health problems exclusively. The VA claims proccess can be a minefield, and theres many dos and donts, that need to be recognized. Va can be kind of like the law, anything you say can and will be used against you in many instances. I would highly suggest that you contact John Dorle. benefits agent. also listen to the radio shows on this forum, you can learn alot. Many times, the 3 pitfalls of life, get in the way of us making the best decisions, for our well being. Pride, Lust of the eye,. and lust of the flesh, seem to be our pitfalls. I guess I was around 32 yrs old, when I quit giving a shit what others thought of me. I gotta be me. Most people in the world are walking around wearing a mask anyway, and try to create some image, that they want others to see, to gain acceptance. You know what though, when the chips are down, and your down and out, there really arent many people there for you, I mean really there for you. Screw what anybody else thinks, go get help, and go get the compensation you have earned. unless you get famous, 2 or 3 generations from now, nobody will even mention your name, and if they did, you wont know it anyway. live today. Bless you and thanks for your service.
  18. sheesh, and they will likely stall 5 to 10. years.. its a damned shame.
  19. you see.. every time a claim is opened, all evidence is considered, its SUPPOSED to be the VAs job to try and assist you and connect the dots, to get a veteran service connected for connectable conditions. Being you had previously filed for PTSD, theres many factors that come into play, one being did the Va make a genuine, reasonable attempt to develop your claim. were you sent to a psychiatrist for a CP evaluation? A doctor of psych has to do it. in order to get connected as far as I know, unless that has changed. IF you werent given proper claim development assistance, WHICH IS LAW, 38CFR, thier is a good chance, you can be awarded to your initial filing date for the claim.. its called a CUE. Clear , unmistakable, error. Furthermore, failure to properly and fairly develop claims is not a VA exception, but rather seems to be the rule.. Anyone with half of a brain, that learns how the VA is supposed to work, can usually find one or more mistakes, be them accident or intentionally in a claim. many times, instead of the VA having to pay back pay to a veteran for tens, or hundreds of thousands of dollars, "yes I said hundreds,", the Va will get wise and realize the veteran has gotten wiser, or knows someone who has gotten wise, and service connect the veteran, hoping they dont push for retroactive payment. on the same token, the VA has a responsibility to be fiscally responsible with the taxpayers money, so its kind of a balancing act. I think the system is alot less complicated than many may think, at all boils down to money.
  20. like ive said many times, legitimate claims are NEVER over, until the veteran says they are. stay in the fight!!!
  21. what is supposed to happen is when you apply for knee problems, the treating doctor should have the ailment investigated further. The va is known for making so called "diagnosis" that are really nothing more that Symptoms. IE. back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain , foot pain, ect. It WAS alot more cost effective, and time saving to just provide the veteran with narcotic painkillers and send them on thier way, instead of spending the time, and resources to get to the root of the veterans problem, and get an accurate diagnosis. But being the VA tries to keep everything inside the VA, and lack specialists, the real problem is usually never discovered, unless you go see a doctor outside the VA machine, who has no incentive to give half assed heath care.
  22. the 100 percent does apply to service connected, or secondary conditions. I do know that VA doctors do have some responsibility in inducing claims , because a NP that treated me for over a year, set up the filing of the claim, AFTER my treatment was done,on a already service connected condition that was at zero percent. which took a whole year of chemo. At the time, I thought she was a rockstar for doing it, only to find out 10 years later, that because of how deathly sick I was, I could have collected the 100 percent for that whole year. Instead of being dead man walking, I could have been compensated man chilling. around 3 grand a month times 12 is what 36 thousand dollars . Here is what I would do, I would make an appointment with the doctor who gave the refferal IMMEDIATELY , and ask what the particular are, were, or will be, that prompted him to generate the 100 percent refferral.
  23. hope she left Tejas!!! haha,,, I wouldnt worry abt it AT ALL... I do wonder though, why are you still in communication with your EX? Divorce should mean, done, finished, over, adios, fini, finel , adios, via condios, good riddance.
  24. his DD214 can give you alot of info, there are campaign awards, SPN codes, ect. you caqn learn alot by taking a forensic approach to the available information. Also he need not have been in actual combat to recieve compensation, only has to have been in a combat zone, and they must take is word for any injuries or ilnesses he suffered., its reguation. He could have tripped getting off the airplane at vietnam, banged his head, and file a claim for it and win. NO SHIT!!!! ALso, because of his age, he can get priority claims processing, although the VA may try and out live him, (and they always win that fight).
