  1. Sounds good to me! Check with 5 figures has been deposited in my account. Going down to the credit union today to pay of my wifes car. That will save 300 a month. Then all we owe is house payment and related stuff. I am just gonna coast and enjoy the extra income until someone tells me I can't. John is right, it is all over my VA records that I am employed full time. I still recieved 100% and I am waiting for the breakdown of percentages from the VA anyway.
  2. Still waiting for the big envelope but, I suspect the bulk of the Compensation is for PTSD. Which will preclude me from doing my current job.
  3. I have asked that question to a former DOE Employee who trained people on FERS retirement and all aspects of Disability etc. She has her own business in Spokane to advise federal workers and do all the paperwork to maximize benefits.
  4. Does anyone know about how long after your Claim Closes you can expect the back pay check.? My Claim closed monday. I am guessing the monthly deposit will start the first of next month.
  5. Can't do that..my Son works here too. Will not do anything to embarass him or my last name.
  6. My job description says I have to be able to 'work well with others' and other words like that in several places. I am going to look into retirement and see what that brings in. I only have 14 years in so I don't know what FERS pays for that. Looking into all options and doing due dillegence to pave the right path. Don't I sound smart? Ha Ha fooled ya.
  7. Now I am wondering if I have to inform my Employer and maybe quit. I work for the DOE and was hired as a 10% preference Vet 8 years ago. Now at 100% things may have to change. Some research is required on my part but, I must be careful not to advise the wrong people before I get the Official answer.
  8. They were; New, PTSD, Hearing loss & Tinitus. and an Increase for Sinusitis from 10%. The hardest part was proving a Battle from 44 years ago. Luckily it was well documented and I was able to get two 'buddie statements' as well as an after action report.
  9. Never mind; I was just awarded 100% so I can't do any better than that.
  10. I just noticed the 'effective' date as Dec 2013 but I filed in March 2013. Does this effect back pay?
  11. I am still floored. Back pay is 34,000 and I am soooo blessed...
  12. Include the information in this row You have one or more service-connected disabilities: Yes Include the information in this row Your combined service-connected evaluation is: 100% Include the information in this row and the one below it Your current monthly award amount is: $2858.24 The effective date of the last change to your current award was: December 01, 2013 Include the information in this row You are considered to be totally and permanently disabled due to your service-connected disabilities: Yes If this is not success, I don't know what is! Thanks to everyone here, I could NOT have done it alone. I had NO VSO and went by the recomendations on this site by people who know! Thanks, Thanks Thanks..
  13. My current Claim for PTSD, Hearing, Tinitus and an increase for Sinusitus is at the Prep for Notification phase. While I am waiting I am considering filing for Sleep Apnea and Migranes that are well documented in my VA health records. Should I file for these? Are these secondary to PTSD? I have already been tested and diagnosed with sleep apnea in 1999 and I have a cpap machine at home. I did not know these were compensable until recently. The nightmares are terrible, I wake up screaming and violently kicking and punching.
  14. Mine says 'I NEVER sent the required evidence'. My Congressman called and they DO have it in my file. This tells me whoever updates does not do it correctly or does not know this info. I am still in Prep for Notification, but, I hope to change this week to Notification. You can call the 1-800 number and ask them to look at your file and verify they do have the info.
  15. I can't get in today. I think I read where someone said they 'update' on weekends. so hopefully that is the case.
  16. Just checked Ebennies and it moved again! Prep for Notification is the next to last step so here we go! Excited? yes Nervous? very Relieved? not yet!
  17. I am not sure but, it may depend on your percentage and income etc. I don't pay any co-pay for SC Sinusitis related issues. That is why I asked about SC for PTSD. Still not sure if there will be a copay when I get granted SC. Carlie said it takes 50% rating to negate all co-pays. I think the co-pays are waived if you are SC for the treatment you recieve.
  18. Thanks everyone! I think it will go pretty darn fast. It has sped up. since leaving the Gathering it has taken about a week for each phase. The pending decision review phase completion date is next week so maybe good news.
  19. Myhealthyevet...bluebutton and download the info by the date.
  20. Carlie you are the best...not what I wanted to hear but, the truth is what I needed. It only took a week to go from Prep for Decision to Pending Decision. I hope it continues to move forward at this rate.
  21. The VA diagnosed me with PTSD and scheduled Counseling. Now I find out I am being charged a co-pay for each visit. The total I owe now is over $120.00 that is an unexpected expense. Not much to many people but, a budget breaker for me. I sent a Secure Message on Myhealthyevet to my Phsyc and asked her to please Service Connect me 'Officially' so that these charges go away. Is that the right approach? I am waiting for my PTSD claim now, so all this MAY go away at that point. I expect to hear within a month as my Claim is at the Rating Phase now at the RO.
  22. Gathering is the slowest part, or at least it has been in my case. Good luck!
  23. I checked this morning and I am now at Pending Decision Approval. Now that I am getting close I am starting to REALLY get nervous. Any idea how long it might take to finish up? If it all goes smoothly of course. Ebennies calls this the 'Rating Phase'..
