rep8's Achievements

  1. tininitis-------flight line crash truck training and several different fire schools on different bases. Used lots of different solvents and such on carrier -flight deck personel 2 1/2 years. 2 cruises to Vietnam in the wonderful bluewater navy . Started having thyroid problems shortly after active duty. I'm after the graves disease and several others at this time. Not holding my breadth but not gona quit either. Didn't even know I could file until 2002 when I started going to VAMC for medical care. Rule change for presumption knocked me in the head. Not happy with my Uncle Sam right now.
  2. appeal was certified in July, 2010---VLJ 8-24-2012-back to VSO and back to VLJ on same day-9-7-2012back to VSO till 10-18-13 and back to VLJ. Decision & claims dispatch at AMC on 11-1-13. Received remand notice 11-9-13. Original claim was filed back in 08 I think or earlier and have been on them back and forth with new evidence and such since. One time they didn't like my letter from private Dr so I get him to write another. They probably didn't like it either. Graves disease that has now turned into Hypoglycemia, DMII, HBP, depression, colon cancer, got a hernia from colon surgery-got it repaired and during surgery they found throat tumor luckily it was benign. Now have bladder cancer and being treated for that. Haven't filed on any of the cancers yet. Waiting on next denial :-). then they will hear from me again. They will get tired of seeing my claims before this is over.
  3. the BVA letter states no decision can be made without SSOC for an issue that was denied. That issue can affect the outcome of another that could be secondary. no lawyer-started out with DAV helping ,then my guy got real sick and had to give it up. The others in the same office have been nothing but wallpaper so its me against VA at this point. Its been an hilarious adventure to say the least but I ain't quitting till I'm dead and buried. Thanks for all the input. I will see what's in this black hole
  4. Not sure of where to ask this but , when an appeal is remanded to AMC for no SSOC any clues as to how long it takes for one to be in the mail? Its been 20 + days since remand notice from VLJ and nothing yet? thanks
  5. Had psych evaluation C/Pin 2011. Tried relentlessly to get copy of results to no avail. Ongoing appeal during this time. 2013 received remand notice from VLJ at BVA because no SSOC provided for any issues that had been denied on appeal. Waiting on SSOC. Finally got correct number of actual clinic where exam was given and was told there is no report for psych c/p for FEB 2011, but they had one for exam done in June of 2012. Advised to contact FOI for medical records. Discovered “cancelled” psych c/p in 2012 . How can a report be written on an exam that was over a year old? I received no notice of any exam other than for 2011 which I promptly kept. Further investigation leads me to believe the exam report dated in June, 2012 is a report that was written for someone requesting report for appeal process. Apparently the report was written using notes from actual exam that was done in 2011. Report was written on an exam that was over a year old. Can they do this, and if not what is next step? At time of exam in 2011 Dr stated I appear to have some remnants of PTSD. Yes it was a real Psych doctor doing exam but he I was informed has since retired . Any suggestions? Thank you all
  6. during this same time period they discovered a growth in my lower throat just at the base of my tongue but luckily it was benign. Lucky me. All this within a 24 mo period. Very fortunate to diagnose this indeed at early stage. 3 years V-1 division 2 tours to Nam on flight deck USS Ranger. Chemical exposure???? I'm thinking duhh. Graves disease, II Diabetes, HBP, Depression, colon cancer, bladder cancer, benign tumor in throat. I'm thinkin I ain't gonna make it out of here alive
  7. colonoscopy @ VA polyp removed and tested + for cancer. Advised to get this taken care of asap and we started talking about surgery needed until I said I wanted to get second opinion. VA did a 180 and said they wanted to wait 6mo. and check again to see about regrowth. Went to outside Dr. and advised to have surgery asap. Had part of colon removed saw oncologist no chemo or radiation needed. Follow up @ 6mo. all clear but need to be periodically checked to keep close watch. VA lab report shows blood in urine. Doc says wonder whats up with that! re-test 30 days -still + for blood. Need ultrasound on kidneys and bladder--showed normal. Went to outside Urologist- blood tst, ultra-sound, CT scan. Scan shows something in bladder. Same day admitted to hospital and had scope of bladder done- tumor found and removed, still got bladder. Tissue sent for pathology and came back + for very aggressive type stg 2 cancer. Advised to start treatment with" installation regimine of meds. Had 6 treatments and they will check again in Dec 2013. I have to say I'm beginning to wonder about VA medical care.
