  1. I have been diagnosed with Type ll diabetes and the doctors have put in my records that the cause of this condition is most likely due to steroid use. This is in my medical records. I filed a claim for this and have been scheduled with a C&P. Ca n anyone tell me what they are going to be looking for or what they will be asking. They are trying to figure out if it is service connected or due to treatment by the VA.I was given steroids in both cases.
  2. I have submitted a claim for the diabetes mellitis that I now have due to the steroid prescription. In my submission the treating drs, wrote that the diabetes is likely due to the steroid use. my question is I was asked if the steroids were for service connected or due to being prescribed to treat a condition. I was given steroids for both. I was wondering if anybody knows if granted what percentage I would be looking at?
  3. Yes the NSAIDS were prescribed for SC ( knees, and pain and swelling ) by my VA primary care. I just don't know how to word it so I'm not wasting so much time trying to get the right information across.
  4. Due to my being prescribed NSAIDS for pain and inflammation my kidneys were damaged and I was put on a assortment of medications to treat this condition. I will have it for the rest of my life. Now, due to the medications I was prescribed (steroids) I am now a diabetic and that is a incurable disease. I have it in the Doctor's notes stating that the cause of these two complications are due to the prescribing of these medications for treating these conditions. My question is where would I go to word these right when I submit a claim and do I submit as a secondary or how do I do it? I am in Colorado and I have a VSO and while he is a nice guy, I don't think he has enough knowledge and aggressiveness to pursue a claim like this for me. I would appreciate any help. Thank You.
  5. any ideas on where I would go to get some help submitting this claim? On the latest paperwork I got from my doc it does statethat the diabetes is likely caused by the steroid use.
  6. Here's one I could really use some help on. I started a claim for a variety of symptoms ( about 8) in January 2014. I realize now that it was a big mistake to do that. My claim is now in the gathering of evidence phase with a projected date to completion of 8/2016 - 1/2017. Prior to that it was in the pending decision approval for 3 months 12/2015- 3/2016 where it went to preparation for decision where it stood for a month and a half to get to the point that I am at now. I've checked with the 1-800 number and get the standard response about workload and backlog. I've asked to have my claim decided with the information available, tried to get it expedited due to hardship and these haven't worked. My case is being handled by the Denver Regional. Update or maybe could be additional information. During the time I have been waiting, I have been granted Social Security Disability. One of my claims is for IU. I sent that information to the VA. Will this help on my claim and by doing this will my claim be delayed even longer?
  7. I have done all these things that people are suggesting. I am now scheduled for a hearing test ( I have service connection but 0% compensation) on Fri. the 12th and I am scheduled for another c&p on the 28th. The person that scheduled me said the exam will take about 6 hours. I really don't understand what is going on because last week I just got a letter were complete. Does anyone know of some good lawyers in Colorado that I could contact? I hope I can ask this on the forum.
  8. I want to thank everybody for their great information! I can't thank you enough as I learn more I will post my information, maybe I can help somebody the way I've been helped. Once again Than You!
  9. Berta in yur reply back to me you mentioned something about the Va should CUE themselves. Could you explain what that means please.
  10. I had contacted NPRC before because I wanted to see what was in my medical records as well, the response back from NPRC was that the VA had my medical records I sent in the copies of all the responses I have received.I took GEEBEE711's advice and reread the letter I received from the VA and I did read it right.I have now been scheduled for C&P exams for hearing and I don't know what else but,the person that contacted me to schedule the appointment said it would take about 6 hours.
  11. I have submitted a request for my records from NPRC and the reply given was that the VA had my records I have the copies of paperwork from them and in one of the denied claims it was stated that the reason the claim was denied was due to nothing being in my records. I have started the process to get representation just getting all the information to send them.
  12. i have put in a claim for a few different claims and these were denied due to nothing being in my medical records now I just received a letter from the VA stating that they are unable to locate my medical records for my period of service. My question is do I still have to prove my claim or what should my next steps be. The letter stated I had 30 days to respond back or the VA would be making a decision.
