KREM...WOW!!! in 2001 i got a 10% for mine and then 2 years ago i filed for an increase because i had found information on the internet about the change made in 2008 on how they rate skin disorders. In my records it states coverage on the neck shoulders, chest inner thighs and waist. so at 1 time i could be covered from my kneck to my knees and all i get is a 30. In my appeal 2 years ago they were sent pictures and still only a 30. so this amazes me that you were able to get the 60. Also in 2008 it says something about disfigurement of the head neck or face. but in my case it was never taken into consideration( i dont know why).

I hear you load and clear. Because i have skin disorders that i use cream for and those creams are on a list that say they do not stain clothes i get nothing. my skin also has excessive flaking so i have to do laundry more often or i get to sleep in skin flakes and it does not smell the best. What really gets me is that these people that get to say yes or no really dont know anything because all they have is a list to go by and i believe every case should be looked at differently.

If any one could please help I have another problem/question. I am not married but i have been with the same woman for 13 years, i have passed my skin disorder to her and i am wondering if there is anything i can do so that she can have the same treatments i do?

Yah thats what i thought after about 7 years of not knowing anything about what i had and didnt have. so last night i reviewed my mediccal records and like i had said before i had it from my neck to my knees and it was shown on some derm graphs of my torso. only problem i found was that it was at different times. so i never had 1 out break that covered me from the neck to the knees. on my first decision i got 10% and it was not clear as to the amount of my body that was covered they did state a couple time that it was not more than 20% of my body but for me there were several outbreaks that would have covered more than 40% of my body. it seemed that in the first decision they took each outbreak as minor and not needed more than a certain amount of time to treat so that they could give me a lower rateing. My reapply in 2012 was raised do to the amout of coverage and treatment time. but the weird thing is that it has always been like this except for a few small changes and that being on my arms and my chest because it covers more now!. So i am not sure what to do now if anything!

i have tinea versacolor and in my records it states that i had it on my neck, chest ,back, and thighs. sometimes was in all areas sometimes just the chest and back. still looking for the original paperwork as to why i only got %5. i was givin %5 for tinea versacolor and %5 for chronic uticaria.

OK! i will do a comparision. one thing that really gets me is that when they decided to make actual regulation in 2008 why didnt anyone really know about it without doing the research on their own. even a letter in the mail stateing that hay you with the skin stuff now theres a regulation to double check youself and see if you might be ellgiable for more! But no, not them GOV people they figure that its still a dont ask dont tell kind of world is the way i see it!

I can say for sure that my records while i was on active duty states that at different times i had it from my neck to my knees. also when i first went to the VA hospital they noted the coverage area as well. What i do know is that the regulation didnt come out till Oct of 2008. and in 2001 i was happy just getting something! another question i have is that the regulation says something when its on the neck and being exposed as disfigurement. in each claim the dont seem to even take notice that its on my neck and visible to the whole world. for me its a little embarrising when i have bad break outs! but it is what it is!

I also had cysts form in my body with no reason as to why. i had them in my armes and my belly and in my back. the one in my back was the size of an energy drink can and was surgicly removed because it was close to the spine

YAH ! i know that is an uphill battle. i have not found anything that says 100% that the shot caused this but i have seen many studies done. SO FRUSTERATING!

Hello All..... I was in the Marines from 1997-2001 I had so many things go wrong during my 4 years that life became pretty depressing. It all started after I decided to get married to a woman that had my kid and I didnt want to get married. Well after many discussion with her i decided why not (DUMB MOVE). Well during my second deployyment she decided that life with me was not good enough anymore and Poof she had gotten Prego just before i returned from my deplyment. So i got out in 2001 and decided i need to be there for my kid and went through a nasty DIV. Owe well thats life. So my medical stuff started with that damn anthrax shot. after i received my second dose i started to take naps all the time during my lunch break. I didnt think nothing of it, just thought i was tired. Then one day i got a Nasty rash on my stomach and inner thighs. didnt think nothing of that either. and all the while this was happening i was gaining weight slowly. well i filed for disability in 2002 and got a rating of 10% for skin stuff then in 2008 there was a regulation that came out that i was unaware of that had the stuff i had on it. i found that last year and refiled and now i am at 30% but what i am wondering is why they didnt go back to 2008 when the rating came out, that would have been the right thing to do because at any point in time i can be covered from my neck to my knees. Owe well that life. So back to the shot, i was gaining weight and sleeping alot for the past 12-14 years and assumed that i was just lazy so i decided to do something about it and get some test done and things looked at. i had a Huge lypoma removed from my back about the size of 2 soda cans i have thyroid problem, i have sleep apnea, i have chronic fatigue, i have skin issues, i have weight problems, so many different problems but what i dont have is any clear reason WHY! and from what i read here and there is that its the anthrax shot but i have not seen any 100% conclusions that this is the problem. So back in 2001 i got out of the Marines and had no idea what to do with myself and had no direction. i knew that i had problems from my time on active duty but didnt know what to do or where to go. i finally went to the local VA office and applied for some of the disorders i had. well i got 10% and thought to myself atleast i got something and let thing go because i was receiveing free care from the VA. Well in 2013 I took the time to see why i got what i got and realized that they Really stuck it to me. I have a skin disorder that runs from my Neck to my knees and at times itches like a Sun of a Gun. so i refiled and got a 30% and i was happy again untill I reviewed my records and in my records it shows from my neck to my knees and i am wondering. 1 Why they would not back pay me to the first time i filed and 2. why not back pay me to Oct 23-2008 when the codes were published? Has anyone else had this problem? So at this point I am not sure what my next step would be. if anything.
