I looked for both a diagnostic code and an ICD code. I could not find anything labeled "diagnostic code" however I was able to find the following (I assume this is the ICD code): Retinitis pigmentosa (ICD-9-CM 362.74) -- does this help? I called the 1-800 number and supposedly my claim went to the decision phase about a week ago. Thank you in advance.

Thank you Navy. We've heard doctors and techs through out 100% like it was guaranteed... but then when we check the reg ourselves, it appears to be closer to 70%. It's difficult to plan whilst being in the dark (literally and metaphorically).

Thank you NavyWife. I've since been updated to "Preparation for Decision" so I'm pretty sure they got everything. It's a waiting game from here. As for the exam results, my claim is so simple that I doubt there's very much that could be said about it (eye disease, very black and white as far as I understand). Thank you!

Thanks John999. You're right. Like many other veterans on here, I can't help but speculate and wonder what's actually going on with my claim. It's such a mystery. I'm trying to be patient.

So my claim finally moved to Prep for Decision. However I'm worried. In the beginning I mistakenly check marked the boxed labeled "No, I do not want VA compensation in lieu of retired pay.” However as I’ve been told, I should’ve NOT checked that box. I just sent an amendment (forms 21-651 for the checkbox update and 21-4138 for the explanation) today via fax AND snail mail. I was told this would not slow down my claim but now I'm worried. I'm in the home stretch and I don't want to mess anything up. You guys, I'm nervous!
