  1. What can I expect from this meeting for ILP? I tried to do my homework on this but it was really vague! I have read ASKNOD’s posts but I don’t know what to ask for to help me around the house! I have steps that I thought I would ask for handrails to help me hold on to. I was thinking of also asking for jets to be installed in our tub since I know I would be turned down for a walk in tub. It would be difficult to get in but the water jets would be an incentive for me to try.
  2. First, do you have a diagnosis for sleep apnea? Second, I found it easier to claim secondary, rather than trying to claim that it occurred while in service. I was a very loud snorer while in the service and probably had it then but, I have been researching and it seemed almost impossible to service connect while in service (JMHO).
  3. I got my SA service connected by claiming it secondary to my depression and medication. My civilian doctor did an IMO & DBQ that gave medical evidence of how depression and anxiety medication can cause sleep apnea.
  4. I think that I’m going to try ssdi now, right after I’ve been rated at 100% P&T and I have an appointment with vocational rehab on the 19th for IL assessment. I am still on short term disability from work but plan to ask work for a severance package and quit. What do you think? Now or wait?
  5. Try your PCP first. Probably won’t work out but if you print out the DBQ and take it with you the next visit, use that time for her to fill out the paperwork! It’s worth a try! I know that the RO will want a opinion from a psychiatrist or a urologist but, you’re PCP can opine that the medication can (more likely than not) cause ED.
  6. Great Victory! Congratulations!!
  7. Another avenue that would work is have your psychiatrist, which is a doctor, fill out a DBQ for loss of organ. Have you ever mentioned the ED to him? I never had to go to a urologist or anywhere else for a test. The word of your psychiatrist should be sufficient being that depression and PTSD medication is known to cause ED!
  8. Congratulations, when you’re right, then fight!!
  9. ASKNOD, first and foremost i never even considered you or anyone other than my personal attorney. The only dealings I’ve had with ANY help on my claims was back in 95 when I was foolish enough to seek the help from the DAV. Needless to say that was the first and last time that I ever dealt with them. This is my first experience with an Attorney and maybe I just got the wrong vibe from him! I hope that he can win the claim for us! I know it’s not a lot of money for some people but I still stop traffic in a parking lot to pick up a penny!! I’m not cheep but I consider myself thrifty. I’m so glad that there are people like you and others who will take there precious time and energy to help other veterans! We are all grateful to you guys for passing this valuable knowledge and information on to help others who either can’t or are not as astute as some on this forum. Again, I never intended to bash anyone!! Like I said, I’m eternally grateful for everyone that has taken the time to help me continue this important endeavor. And it’s not just for me but for my family!!!!
  10. I just got approved for ED and all it took was an IMO and IME from a doctor. They will probably want another opinion from a psychiatrist or as Buck said a urologist. I am not on any medication but I have talked to my psychiatrist about this in the past.
  11. I’m I the only one having trouble signing in to Ebenifits?
  12. Just got off the phone with the C&P office and my appointment was canceled! More good news! Thanks for the suggestion Buddy.
  13. Thanks Buck, I’ll give them a call tomorrow morning. I don’t understand the point in this!
  14. Thanks! Yeah but I kept it up! If you know you’re hurting and they keep telling you (ah you’re alright) that in itself is reason to keep up your fight. I just never knew why they would do that to someone who put their life on the line and now suffers from the pain and anguish of doing that. Time passes quickly now that you’re looking back!
  15. I agree with Buck and I apologize for the misunderstanding! Right now I’m still in shock that it’s over!!! I’m still trying to wrap my head around the finality of the war! I’ll have to wait for the paperwork to come and then see what was evidence they found to deny me. I’m just happy that everyone of my claims were approved except the hand. Like I mentioned in my (success story) post, the IME’s and the IMO’s won it for me. Worth everything spent.
  16. (SD22's been listening to old wive's tales too much or he got "the VSO briefing" about us, Berta.) I don’t get what you’re implying ASKNOD! I guess you didn’t get a chance to look at my post in the (success stories) section under (Giving Up is success for me). I don’t know what tripped your trigger or why the gun was pointing at me when it got tripped. I have followed your posts with every ounce of respect and interest in learning from your talents! Maybe I’m misinterpreting what you’re post was about and missed your point. If I offended you in any way I sorry and never intended to do so!
  17. This C&P is a mistake and was scheduled before I was rated! I was rated on my doctors IMO and IME. They denied me at first but then agreed with the evidence sent in by my doctor. The C&P was scheduled to rate my claim! Since it was rated without the need of this pre-issued C&P this C&P is for nothing! Does that make sense?
