  1. Dlove74us, Did you have a C & P exam and do you have a myhealthevet premium account? If so, check the notes under the blue button. You can get an idea of how you were rated by the examiner. Once ebennies goes to prep for notification check your VA letters for the AB8 letter, it will tell you if you were SC'd or not and at what percentage. Good Luck
  2. JefMil50 If you have a premium account in Myhealthevet, you can look up the Examiners notes in BLUE BUTTON. If I remember right, there is a 3 day wait for that info unfortunately. Good Luck on your Increase
  3. Air1, I would get a Sleep Study from a non VA Sleep/Respiratory Specialist, if I were you. A Community Dr. might have the ability and equipment for you to do a Home study, but doesn't have the pull, when it comes to a nexus, that a Specialist does. They should be able to pin point the cause better than anyone, JMO. The specialist may even fill out a DBQ for you. If he can can connect it to your service, make sure he puts it in VA lingo. Good Luck
  4. Root beer, sorry to hear about your experience. Did you have the GW exam in Seattle or American Lake? I'm trying to get a GW exam and AL would be better for me. If you have a premier account in MyhealtheVet you should be able to see the examimers notes as early as next week.
  5. 27 Feb-Complete SC'd for Tinnitus I'll wait for the BBE to see what they said about the SA claim, obviously will appeal.
  6. Update 25 Feb- Prep for Decision 26 Feb- Prep for Decision Approval 27 Feb- Prep for Notification Time to start checking Ebennies for the Bennefit Letter. As of this morning no change to the Letter.
  7. Thanks guys, I also am a learner and wish I found this AWESOME site a long long time ago. I am learning something new each time I'm on here from everyone. I also know that I will need this site for years to come. Now to just sit back and check ebennies, yeah right. It will be a bit nerve racking. Good luck to you all, in your fight.
  8. I got movement on ebennies today, my claim went from gathering of evidence yeterday to Prep for decision today. It's been ten months since starting the process and I know it might be a few more til completion. The fun starts now waiting for the outcome of the decision.
  9. Snake eyes, I was wondering the same thing. I Audio C & P exam notes state that I fueled aircraft on the flight deck of a carrier, and some other info regarding the navy. I actually fueled aircraft on the FLIGHT LINE in the Air Force. I too am concerned about it affecting the decision and future outcome.
  10. Rootbeer, My Career Field (MOS) was as a Fuels Specialist in the Air Force so I was around running aircraft, pumphouses, vehicles pumping fuel to the aircraft. FL 10-35 shows my job as Moderate exposer and the C & P examiner wrote in the notes a "least likely as not" so I'm hoping the tie goes to the vet. I have only been dx with SA since 2012 but have had it since 1992 while in service. I snore constantly and stop breathing in my sleep often so I use the CPAP and it works wonders other than it being uncomfortable. I was young and knew nothing about SA in the service so I never complained. It along with the tinnitus and insomnia make it hard to sleep at night and it affects my daily life and work. Along with the SA C & P they included the GW C & P to see if that had anything to do with the SA. The examiners notes don't look favorable for SC so we'll just wait n see.
  11. Recently, "ebennefits" is saying that I need to load even more evidence? Rootbeer, This happened to me back Jan as well. I too, called the 1-800# and was told not to worry cuz it was just notifying Seattle and American Lake VAMC's to schedule C & P's . According to Ebennies they have until 3/21/15 to submit all info regarding my two current claims. I had my two C & P's ( sleep apnea and tinnitus) earlier this month. So now it's just wait n see on the outcome. Checked Myhealthevet and as expected the Sleep Apnea Exam was not so good, but the exam for the Tinnitus looks to be in my favor.
  12. The kicker for now is, you can only use this program if your private doc is part of it, my doc unfortunately is not. I see this as a good thing but also wonder if the VA will look at the pertinent info.
  13. Navy04 The GW portion was added to the SA exam to try and connect the dots. I never new about SA so never saw anyone about my snoring, stopped breathing and insomnia during service. So SC the SA will be tough.
  14. Had my audiology and sleep apnea/gulf war C&P's today. Thought they went pretty good until the last 5mins of the SA/GW exam. The Dr was looking thru my claim on the computer and couldnt find the copy of the sleep study I provided my VSO claim submission. Im going to submit it myself thru ebene's. Hope this doesn't prolong it much longer.
  15. Thanks for the info Navy04. Good luck to you as well. I'm in the same boat, C & P next week at one VA and the following week I go to another for a non related thyroid biopsy and to get a MRI on an ankle that I sprained during service. I haven't applied for disability yet for the ankle yet because I'm waiting to see what the results are.
  16. I am finally scheduled for a C & P for my Tinnitus and they scheduled me for a Medical C & P as well. What can I expect to happen during these exams? This is the third time trying to get rated for Tinnitus but first time for what I hope is an actual C & P for tinnitus. I have also applied for sleep apnea, is this what the medical C & P is for? A little background on me, I was a Fuels Specialist in the Air Force for nine years. I was constantly around jet engines, loud fuel trucks and loud fuel equipment. The tinnitus became constant in my left ear towards the end of my time in. I would mention it to the person doing the hearing exams but they wouldn't do anything about it. When I separated I had a medical C & P at the VA. During the portion dealing with my tinnitus the examiner asked one question and only one. In a loud clear voice he asked "Can you hear what I'm saying". I replied back, Yes. He said I definitely don't have tinnitus. I know I have tinnitus but didn't want to argue. Is this what I can expect again? My private audiologist gave me hearing aids to try and help mask the tinnitus and I have them registered with the VA. Will this maybe help in my favor or not? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
