  1. FYI. The White House Hot Line is ran by the VA. I have seen action on very serious issues that have occurred. A C and P exam scheduled at the request of the RO to a Contractor Although it may be an inconvenience to a veteran, it may be the only available examiner available. Personally I have had great success with LHI, QTC and VES since 2020. And every time you call the hotline, they inquire at your Regional Office. There is a person at that RO who's job it is to get the message. Like I said, You will get noticed. Good Luck and hang in there.
  2. Just call them and ask if they have anything closer to your location? They should be able to accommodate your needs. Calling the White House Hotline will only get you noticed and nothing else.
  3. You do need a local attorney to help. You can get one that specializes in VA Claims, Personally I will recommend Katrina Eagle (Attorney) and Jim Radogna (Accredited appeals agent). They are a husband and wife team and are very knowledgeable. They are based out in San Diego. Both are NOVA members and often travel around the country to train Attorneys and Agents.
  4. A friend of the show is names Lisa Hiering. She is a retired SSA employee from claims. Here is her website. She will steer you straight, https://www.ssdiinsidersecrets.com/
  5. Looks like you will get rated for it. Unfortunately they will likely Zero the percentage. But in reality you do not want HTN to be 160 over 100 or higher. I wonder what it would be without meds.
  6. If this is a win, The VA will have to hire some folks. It will be interesting.
  7. Keep in mind a CUE relates to the regulations in effect at the time the CUE was committed.
  8. I have had a few Stress Test's done. These tests are done in a setting that has the facilities to do it. This test involved an injection of a Radioactive Isotope, being scanned by a scanner, getting on a treadmill or injected with Atropine to rev up the heart, then getting scanned again. There is also a test called a Stress Echo where they rev up the heart and do a Ultrasound in rapid fashion.
  9. The Spine is divided into 2 segments. Cervical and Thoracolumbar. The Thoracic and Lumbar are combined.
  10. VA has Priority groups. 10 to 20 percent 30 to 40 percent 50 percent and above https://www.va.gov/health-care/eligibility/priority-groups/ The biggest benefit is when a Veteran becomes permanent and Total, That kicks in the 10K life insurance and a Waiver of Premium, Chapter 35 education benefits for the spouse and Kids, Military ID card (Veteran and family ) with MWR and Commissary access, Access to Space A travel provided the veteran is not too sick to fly.
  11. I have seen this. I usually have the veterans call the 800 number and tell VA that letter is not received. They will offer to re send, or email a copy. If you have a VSO who has access to VBMS, they can run interference.
  12. Carl is correct. When the contractor submits the results to the RO, they will issue a mileage check.
  13. Take her to get a shot of Toradol. Non narcotic very high dose injected NSAID. She may also need pain injections in the Lumbar. Opiates leaves a person loopy with higher doses. They may be able to isolate the nerve causing the pain. Then do a RF burn and see if they can help the pain with RF.
  14. For VA purposes ,at 70 percent he would have to have passed from a service connected condition, It does not have to be the main condition but a contributing factor.
  15. Hypertension has a one year presumptive period. If you were diagnosed within 1 year and it was compensable to at least 10 percent which means the Systolic must be predominantly 160 or Diastolic must be predominantly 100. Essential Hypertension is the key word.
  16. In order to qualify for SMC S one has to have a single 100 percent disability and a separate and 60 percent disability or be housebound,
  17. If anyone has questions about veterans filing for Social Security disability, a good resource is Lisa Hiering. She works with veterans who want to file SSDI. https://www.ssdiinsidersecrets.com/
  18. To get aid and attendance, a veteran must have loss of use of both feet or 1 hand and one foot or be blind in both eyes or be so helpless that the veteran requires the assistance of another person for daily activities. This is explained in 38 USC 1114. Focus point on ADL's for A&A.
  19. 10 years. As long as you are P and T your dependents will receive Chapter 35 education benefits. A wise Idea would be invest ion a High Dollar AD&D policy. It is cheap.
  20. This sill be interesting. first of all if this goes across the board, Direct Service connected veterans stand to gain a lot. The VA does not have enough money to pay the backlash of claims. Stay tuned folks.
  21. Broncovet is spot on. All headaches are rated under the criteria for Migraines. The best medical evidence as to the severity is prostrating.
