  1. Did you get a chance to listen to this one? It may just help. https://www.blogtalkradio.com/jbasser/2022/01/28/hadit-exposed-vet-podcast-with-dr-bash-and-bill-creager-non-hodgkins-lymphoma
  2. This is the norm. What evidence exactly allowed you to re open the claim? Was it a government record not in the claims folder at the time the original decision was made? If it was your only option would be to use 3.156C. Did you appeal the latest decision?
  3. Lowell, it is not new money. Only a small percent is. Its a race track. it goes around and around, Someone gets off, someone gets on. The issue is how they are handling the money and claims. Its deeper than that.
  4. Be advised that the VARO's are experiencing mail delays of 30 days or longer (Much Longer in some cases). Some of these documents are time sensitive so read them carefully and call the VA to explain you received it Late. Otherwise if you miss a deadline, its too bad. Next week, I am asking Congress to get the VA to send time sensitive documents / Letters with reply by dates via Fed Ex until this mail fiasco is solved and as long as this COVID scare is around that seems to be a long time.
  5. In addition, if you have to go to the BVA Dr Bash will go with you. Not many other docs would do that, but you have options, If you are on a tight Budget, other entities are available. Valor4Vet is one. Here is a link to her interview with Exposed Vet Radio. It is a good listen. https://www.blogtalkradio.com/jbasser/2021/04/01/haditcom-exposed-vet-podcast-with-valor4vets-bethanie-spangenberg
  6. Maybe back in the day. There are some Regional offices that are focused on certain claims but the majority of claims are processed electronically with the raters via Computer. The claims folders mainly are stuck in Janesville WI with the work being done by whoever it gets assigned to nationwide.
  7. Great Post Lowell. We tend to ne eager for information. Everyone's disabilities are different regardless of how they appear familiar. Bad advice and a Moron DAV rep cost me 14 years of fighting, Informed, accurate information is the goal. There are a whole lot of resources out there to help veterans with their claims. Facebook has some groups that have 50K plus members. The bottom line is this: Evidence wins claims and a good medical nexus will only help. The more complex claim a veteran has the more complex the nexus will be needed.
  8. The Contract company and examiners have access to the records. Do not give out your information to anyone. I had a c and p exam last week and we discussed the file. The examiner had it pulled up and said the file was very large, 9000 pages. He went right to what he needed to write the opinion and I watched it all take place. If they ask you for your information it is because someone is not doing their job and this needs checking in to.
  9. Buck I am thankful that there is a little bit of help for the wife. It is not much but it does help and eases a small part of the burden placed upon you.
  10. Hi Buck. Keep in mind these tests are based upon looking at pictures. They rev up your engine, Shut it off then put on the Camera. I had a couple of these tests done and they were read to be normal. Not long after I was in a Cath Lab. You should see a cardio doc just to be sure.
  11. Unfortunately the VA regards OSA as a Lung issue so connecting 2 lung diseases would be considered Pyramiding. They should however compensate you for the most severe one that gives the highest rating.
  12. You deserve it Buddy. A Veteran with LTBH (Lucky to be here) syndrome, You should have R2 and now you are finally done.
  13. Buck if you file anything I would suggest you would file for an increase of the Tinnitus. If you win the effective date should can go back to a year or the date of the onset of the secondary either by diagnosis or symptomology. This is regardless if the Tinnitus rating carries a 10 percent max rating. I also suggest you go here https://www.index.va.gov/search/va/bva.jsp Search your issue and put secondary to Tinnitus into the exact phrase section. It should show you what others have done and results either good or bad.
  14. That makes 3 of us. The recently passed bill Hr 7105 raises the Amount of Supplemental life insurance to 40K in Jan 2023.
  15. No one and I mean no one should relax until you see the words, Static, Permanent and Total. This may be a good show topic to be explained in detail.
  16. I just got rated for the same thing, same percentage. It is all considered as one Segement. If you have surgery, ask for temp 100 percent if you are not already 100 percent.
  17. The only thing she needs from the school is proof she attended and her status as full time back to 2017 the effective date of the award. Ask the RO to retro the chapter 35 benefit back to the earliest date on your award letter. Chapter 35 pays the student directly and not the school. As far as ChampVA you have 18 months to submit bills or recipts for each eligible dependent back to the effective date of the P and T award. Also keep in mind Champ VA is slower than a turtle on a treadmill when it comes to these claims and can take several months.

  19. Once a veteran gains Housebound status either by actually being housebound or by Statutory Housebound with the total plus 60 rating, gaining Aid and Attendance is a big step. You have to require the need for Aid and Attendance. That actually means you have to have someone assist you with the Activities of daily living. Dressing, Eating, Bathing or to protect you from yourself or dangers in the home. That would be at the SMC L or L 1/2 rate. Once you attain that rate the door to the higher levels of SMC are opened. Asknod has a very well defined SMC explanation on his site that humorously explains it in detail.
  20. The VA did not ban them they just simply took them off line. The excuse was vets were getting High powered IMO's from hired guns and cleaning their clocks at the higher levels. Do not worry, they will be back soon as the House veterans committee has already addressed the situation. In the mean time here is a link to the For the forms via NVLSP. https://www.nvlsp.org/news-and-events/press-releases/nvlsp-offers-va-disability-benefits-questionnaires
  21. This was the subject of a radio show a couple of weeks ago. IVDS is a rating they seem to be getting away from as Bed Rest is out dated. For Traumatic Arthritis the range of motion is measured and you are rated accordingly. If you have spine related issues then these are to be rated separately. At this time the VA is tinkering with the spine ratings Take C5 for example. You had an injury to C5. You have fusion. That is based on ROM. You have nerve issues in the arm. Those issues may be rated separately based on the results of Nerve Conduction tests. There are a lot of secondary conditions associated with the spine, especially Traumatic Arthritis. These conditions are degenerative and get worse over time.
