So let me understand this better.

You had an issue and your had a recommendation for a certain doctor for an IMO (Independent Medical Opinion)?  Correct?

You pain for the IMO ($2000+).  Not sure what happened during this interaction, but the IMO was never given.

From all the reactions here at Hadit you did not reach out here to get your issue with and INDEPENDENT doctor resolved or to get your monies back?  or maybe you did?

So you became salty with HADIT, because you had a bad experience with an independent doctor.  You are acting like you paid HADIT for this service and never got your fries.  This would be like me taking a recommendation from a friend for food and had a bad meal and then blamed the friend for the bad meal.

I guess I just don't get why you blamed someone else instead of reaching out here for help (like we all do and get help) to get the higher ups here to help resolve your issue.  Even though I believe there are other was to approach this doctor to get you money back.

This mission here from what I see is to never leave a fellow vet in the mud, but to rather pick them up and give them a shower and get some food.

Lets not go there. The issue is being resolved.

  2. Richard I would like some info. Number 1: how long have you been service connected for the Prostrate Cancer?

There are certain protections built in to preserve a rating. Some ratings have a yo yo effect based on on the type of disability. Some disabilities are curable and they can re rate based on residuals. Now if the VA has lied about the improvement and the doctors do not agree that you have improved then I would ask for a hearing. Personally I would have already did that and followed up with a white house hotline call and a TORT Attorney.

Personally I would contact John Dorle at Benefitsagent@comcast.net and get his take on the issue. He may be able to help you get it reversed quickly.

Hang in there. The VA aims to please, Oh well at last they aim.

  3. Hadit Vets, How many of you have been rated 100 percent who has a spouse that is a federal employee or Retiree and has Champ VA as a secondary Payer to federal employee health insurance?

If you do, did you know that once the Employee becomes Medicare Eligible, you will be forced to take Medicare Part B or lose ChampVA.

We are doing a Special Basser Hour show to address this issue. I will provide rules and tips to hep get this rule changed. If you are effected, Call in or give us a listen.

  4. You will keep a 30 percent rating for Hypertensive heart disease. The rating is usually based on the number of events. In other circumstances, if you have had an echo cardiogram (echo) or cardiac catherization, you need to look at the test. There is a boss card associated with these tests. If your Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction is 50 to 60 then it is a 30 percent rating. Under 50 it is a 60 percent rating. Keep in mind that hypertension associated with heart disease is to be rated separate so it is not pyramiding. Any other issues with the heart are pyramiding according to the Regulations.

I feel for you. These arrhythmias lead to other issues later on like AFIB. Then you have to take Blood thinners to keep from having a stroke.

  5. These folks are correct. Statutory housebound SMC S requires a total disability rating Regardless if IU or Scheduler. The next step is SMC L. That one requires you to be rated for Aid and Attendance. L is the stepping stone for the upper level SMC ratings. That means you can have 1- 100 percent ratings and without Aid and attendance S is as high as you go..

  6. Are there any Hadit members having issues with getting Champ VA to reimburse us for dependanat cop pays?

let me know. I have had a hard time over the last year getting them to pay the wife for her co pays and i am getting sick and tired of it.

The mail room loses everything regardless if return receipt.

  7. A dear departed friend of Hadit and the Hadit Podcast Crewmemner Mike Sasser AKA Stretch, used the Fayetteville VA. He had a host of health issues. He passed away a few years ago.Fast foreward to present time and his widow gets a letter stating he was on a list. This list was a list of veterans that a Pathologist didnt inform veterans of cancer diagnosis. Jerrel and I talked Stretch to seek care outside of the VA where he found out he had lung cancer at Stage 4. He passed away a few months later.  He was a true friend, Co Host and Radio Technician and to see this happen angers me to no end.

  8. The Fers and SSDi offset is disasterous for those who have been screwed over by it.  GS 11 making 77K per year,  26 years of service and goes out on disability. First year cut fers of 40 percent, After first year it is a 60 percent cut, If awarderd SSDi it is 100 percent offset first year and 60 percent again of ssdi second and sequential years until age 62.  That has bankrupted a lot of people. Pay for Insurance and you have peanuts left over. Windfall Provision offset is a disaster.

  9. Hamslice keep all information pertaining to your heart. It will get worse over time.. The Tricuspid Valve Regurgatation is worrisome..  Pay special attention to future diagnosis of conditions like Atrial Fibrulation or any other arrythmias.

Also keep in mind all these test are just guesses and the only real test is a cradiac catherization.
