  1. Could someone explain to me in layman terms, what does "pre-existing illness were aggravated beyond natural progression." First, I was recalled to active duty. It was noted on my medical record that I had this illness, but I was "Fit to mobilized." Went to Afghanistan for six months, I went to medical twice for this illness. Come home and the illness progess with additional other illness... like the fact, on my medical record it was documented by the doctor, I came in due to "particular matter" ... and was given an inhaler. Right now, the VA is decreasing my ratings, due to preexisting illness. For the past five years, I've been seeing a specialist and been given numerous medication to control the illness. Did a bit researched on "wartime disability" .. 38 U.S.C.A. 3.304 provides that veterans are presumed to have been sound condition when they were examined, accepted, and enrolled to service.... 3.306 ... "veteran who served during wartime... a pre-service disease .... during and soon after combat .... aggravation of a preservice condition will be established." Okay, I read this over and over, the only thing that stands out... is the word, "combat"... what is considered combat in the eyes of the LAW, not the VA. Does this mean, combat in the front lines or line of fire? I want to thank everyone for their service...
