  1. My husband had a c & p exam for ptsd two weeks ago. He is under the care of a private psychologist and is taking meds, but his ptsd is getting worse. Is there anywhere we can go for better ptsd treatment now? We are worried he will get worse and worse while we wait on the v.a. We have private insurance. We need help for him mentally now.
  2. My husband had his c & p exam for ptsd two weeks ago. How long before he gets a rating and we get help? His ptsd is getting worse and we don't know what to do. He is under treatment through a local psychologist and nurse practitioner, but the ptsd is getting worse. Help!
  3. Thank you so much for your feedback. The exam is tomorrow---he has stayed on his meds as you suggested. We will be sure to bring a list of what he is on to the exam. Truly appreciate this website and community. This is so scary and it is so helpful to have this support and information!!!
  4. My friend is going into a for a C & P Exam for PTSD. He is in on multiple medications (anti-psychotic, anti-depressants, anti-anxiety) just to function and hold down his job. Will these count against his rating? (ie able to function at work every day because he has all these meds) Should he stop taking the meds a few days before the exam so they see with greater clarity his condition without meds? Thanks in advance,
  5. Hello, My friend is having his first C & P Exam for PTSD soon. He is on an anti-psychotic, anti-depressant, and several anxiety medications. He really needs them to function at work AND in the world. I think he would be rated 50% disability on the medications, but I'm pretty sure he would not be able to function without the medications. Will the examiner take that into account? Or will his medications count against us? He has recently had a relapse, and we're worried this will get worse and worse and he won't be able to keep his job---that's why we finally decided to reach out to the VA for help after five years of treating this condition on our own through private health insurance. Some have suggested he should go off his meds a few days prior to the exam so they truly see his condition. Thoughts?
