Thank you Berta. We are actually working with master gunny on this. He has asked that we do what we can but before we do anything we contact him for permission. He is in the middle of moving back where he came from because can't afford to stay. The real sad part of this to me is that 25 years ago I was in this school and in the ROTC program here. We are walking a fine line because the last thing we want is to cause any problems for the kids. I will definitely Google what you suggested.

Hey everyone I need some help with ideas to help a 23 year retired master gunnery seargunt. This person became an mcjrotc instructor for 16 years. My kids have an njrotc in their high school and this marine moved to my state to fill an opening and instruct here. He was at the school for 13 days. At one point he was telling the kids that he felt that single parent family's was very difficult and that he makes a point of being there for the kids to help them at another time he was telling the student chain of command about how each person have subconscious bias feelings that make you think or do things. He used as an example that he served 2 tours and how later when he was home he went to a gym and was working out when he had noticed an arib looking man walk in with a duffle bag. He noticed the man did not go to the locker room to change so he kept an eye on him because it was strange. The man was fine and was doing nothing wrong. He pointed out to the students how he did not mean to but he did. The point he said is regardless what you may think as a leader you have to put your beliefs aside and make impartial decisions. Then he did say something about trump. I don't know what he said about him. Well one student felt uncomfortable about the single parent family comments because that was her family. The student went to another administrator and complained. The school filed a report that the student was in tears and crying about the fact she felt attacked. They also said he was racist because of the gym story and he talked about politics. The student came to my niece and told her that she did not state any of that and that she was very upset about what the school did. The school interviewed some students who said the questions where directed to get only one answer. They talked to master gunny and like a veteran said I tell the kids not to lie so he will answer the questions. They asked him if he told a story about an arib. He said yes. They asked him if he talked about single parent families. He said yes and they asked did he talk about trump. And again he said yes. That was it. No questions about context or any fallow up questions. This marine has not had 1 reprimand in 39 years. The school board had a close door meeting and made the determination to fire him. 1 hour later 6 students me and the other njrotc instructor (a retired navy captain) and my sister made our pleas for a second chance. They fell on deaf ears the board did not even have the guts to list his vote they added it to a general vote. I have come to find out some other things about the school and other veterans. This year one administrator during the first assembly named all the new instructors. She left off the captain. This same administrator had an assistant athletic instructor fired because he showed up to school in uniform one day for his daughters jrotc promotion. I need your help! we are trying to come up with a plan of attack to get the master gunnys job back because he is great and the kids need him. I need ideas and group's in the Seattle area that can help. Thank you very much Diver

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately for me my Dr's are only the va and they are not willing to get involved at all with anything. At this time my reccards are what I have. With the bulging disk in my back I can't stand or lean over at a seated position for more then 10 minuts or my sciatic start shooting down my legs and I'm popping pain meds. If I'm seated for more then 30 min and not using my knees my knees are like they are rusted and are hard to move and again pain pills. And then of course there's the depression from the pain. As you probably know sucks. Then the memories of the people and injuries I worked on. All of this is in my va medical records but that's it. The va counselor does not want to work with me because I don't know what to really work on or fix. Its all part of me and my life. How do you pick what you are used to and try to change it. I am who i am because of what ive done. My memories are OK because each and every one of the people are OK and I helped with that. The depression is not ever going away because my pain will never go away. And then my anger well I'm just angry about the pain and watching my kids grow up without me being able to throw the ball or run around with them. I don't know. If I get ssdi that would be great but my quality of life has gone up a lot sense I stopped working and that's worth it to me. With not working I'm in much less pain and stress.

I'm still waiting for my ssdi claim to proceed. I have officially been out of work for 1 year as of the end of this month and so far I have been denied 2 times in the first 3 months and sense then I have been waiting for a hearing with a judge and my aterney. I hope this ends soon. Thanks to the VA disability and my wife working we are OK financially but no extra or savings. And my wife has had arthritis surgery 2 times in her right arm and lots of pain in both so as soon as I am done she really needs to put in for ssdi. It sucks getting older. Lol

Yes I have chondromalacia in both knees and limitation of motion.

Update. I have now been denied twice. The only thing I have been told by them is their doctors say I can work even without an exam. Both denials took 2 months total and most of yhatvwas the paperwork i had to file. So I have got myself an attorney and I hope he can get this done. Most would not help because I am only 42 and have only been out of work for 3 months but this one said because I am a vet he would do it. However I am afraid he will drag it out as long as he can for his pay. Can he file for an extension on the 60 day limit for requesting the hearing? I would have thought that being 100% p&t would have made it easier. I assume that because I am not tdui the Washington state grooup are telling me in their own way to stick it.

The 100% is p&t. I already picked up my deers card. As for the computer they said if I still had the boxes I could return it but I don't and it has personal information on it so I would rather keep it.

I received a call from the VA about my complaint. They have assigned me to a new rep and they said they did some retraining. So they probably told her that I complained and that they were just going to give me to someone else. I then talked to my new rep and I proceeded to tell him I was dropping the training now that I am 100%. He said that I would have to pay for the computer and reimburse for this month's stypment pay and that in a couple of months they will send me out a letter asking for a check or I'd I want it to come out of my disability pay. So the final is I AM DONE WITH THE DISABILITY PART OF THE VA!!!

Update. Yesterday I received a letter informing me that due to the amount of people enrolled in vocation rehabilitation I will no longer be working with my rep and I have been assigned to a new one. This was sent by the rep that I complained about. I guess that is all that will happen. Does anyone know if I will have to return my computer now that I am 100% and no longer qualify nor want to do the retraining. If they don't take it back will I have to pay for it?

I put in an increase on February 10th for my knees and they granted an increase. They also granted connection for my hips that I put in March of last rear and the back pay is 6 months worth.

I just received my back pay. My finding was for 2/10/15 and it is now 4/20/15 but I got paid 6 months back pay. Is this correct or did they screw up. Some of my claims are from March last year but most that pushed me to the 100% was from February of this year. Do they pay a minimum of 6 months back pay? Thank you Confused diver

I spoke with the assistant director of the Seattle RO and he stated that I probably will be dropped from vocational rehabilitation. I believe that it's the right thing to do. This money will pay for another vet that has got to work to have a fighting chance. I just don't know if they are going to have me stop now or let me finish the quarter. If they stop me now they can save about 2 thousand. But sense they already bought me the school, computer, books, and supplies so maybe they will have me complete the quarter.

I received a fallow up call on my email of March from the assistant director of the Seattle RO and he confirmed that I am indeed now 100% P&T. So it is official. I am concerned about my rating because I am to start physical therapy on my back through the VA and I am afraid that if I do it through them and my back gets a little better that the VA will revoke my P&T. I think that I will not do it just to be safe. I know my back will still be bad but I don't trust them. I will Google the stretches and do it my self. Also does anyone know a website that lists all the benefits that you get with the DEERs cards? And for that matter any benefits. I know the state and most of the VA but I know there are a lot of companies out there that give discounts to 100% only. Thanks diver

Does anyone know if now that I am 100% will the VA drop me from voc rehab? I don't mind if they do at 90% I could not pay bills but know I can.

Yes if you are P&T you get more benefits from the VA and state. You also have no more C&P exams. I now get the DEERs id for px and commissary use and champ VA for my family. If you are just 100% and not P&T you do not get the extra benefits and you have other exams scheduled.

I thought the same as you but I just kept fighting and pushing for the secondary issues to be accepted and now I am there. Thank you all for all the help over this time of struggle. It was a blessing to have the support of you.

I just received the denial letter today for ssdi but yesterday I received notice that I have been determined to be 100 P&T from the VA. Happy and pissed all at the same time. I will file a disagreement and send them the new ratings from the VA for them to deny again but I am very lucky to have the VA money to cover the bills.

Thank you all! I sent an email to the ro asking her if this was correct and she said yes. She also sent me an electronic copy of my letter to prove it. This is correct I am 100% P&T.

Hello all…. I just checked Ebenefits and my percentage under disabilities is at 100% now. Not all of the disabilities are in the list for instance MDD is not on the list, so I do not know all of what was found. I have not yet received my letter to be able to verify everything. I opened the AB8 letter and it states that I am 100% P&T. it also has my commissary letter and my DEERS application. I can’t believe this! Should I believe this? I called my rep and someone there was able to look and said that the VA does have me at 100% but that is all she could see because she is new and all of the reps are with people. Can I really believe this??? What do I do to get all of the government access cards and access? I am freaking out. Thanks everyone Diver

I received a reply from the assistant director just telling me that he will forward my complaint to the proper people and he will call me at the end of the week. I do not know if he is calling about my claim or my complaint so I will wait and see.
