  1. Cherie: I live in Brevard Co., the county has a Veterans Service Officer, I looked up the tele. # and address in the phone book. I think I took my letter from the V A but it was not necessary because their computer system was hooked into the VA's system. He could look up my rating. This Veterans Officer had the State form, it has been a while, but I think he filled out part of the form. I had to get a passport size picture. I mailed the form and picture to the State capital. Took a month to six weeks to get the ID card back, as best as I can remember. Dobie
  2. Nek: When I had a C&P for PTSD the examiner asked did I know the monthly cost of various things ...ie ins., newspaper, elect. anyway you get the ideal. The wife pays all the bills so I did not know what anything costs. The examiner was busy writting everything down. I knew from reading on Hadit where this was heading (incompetency), so I told her that I have a small checking account from which I paid my credit card. Well she crossed out what she had wrote and wrote a couple more lines. Bottom line I was rated 50% with a GAF of 42, and because of my other disabilities TDIU. In the end I think that you need to show that you can manage your own affairs by paying your bill on time. Just my experience. Dobie
  3. Tssnave: Just received a copy of my medical records for year 2007, I request a copy each year. I like to know what is written into the records, it is amazing what is put in there that was never discussed with me. To the point of your post, stamped on the front of the transmittal letter is as follows: " A COPY FEE OF .15 PER PAGE WILL BE CHARGED IF DUPLICATED OF THESE RECORDS ARE NEEDED IN THE FUTURE " I have never been charged a fee. If it were me I would request a second copy of your C file and state that some orginal copies were not readable. Dobie
  4. Pete: Has your wife tried the Meds by Mail. Mrs. Dobie has use ChampVA for the last four years and it has worked great. Starting in Mar she will start using Medicare with ChampVA as secondary. Until Mar she is under my medical insur. and ChampVA is secondary. In March she is eligable for Medicare. The only reason I asked is because in an earlier post you had made a comment about a 25% co-pays and using a local drug store. Dobie
  5. Cat If you are rated 100, would your husband and family not be elig. for CHAMPVA? If I could I would get the medical treatment at a private hospital. To depend on the VA for medical treatment is a crap shoot. There are just to many folks chasing too few medical resources. Best of luck, Dobie
  6. MAXWELL In reference to your question concerning the DV tag in Florida. Contact your local Tax Collector Office. I asked at my local office and was told that the DV was indeed entitled to use the Handicap parking space, in fact they gave me a reference to the to the state reg. I have seen motorcycles with DV tags parked in handicaped spaces. Dobie
  7. Below is a shortcut to the BVA case being discussed here. The case is very large and interesting to read, but it is long. It is a 2005 case I use "Naples Italy" as the search topic. http://www.va.gov/vetapp05/files4/0523490.txt Dobie
