  1. Ok I received that letter yesterday... Thank goodness everything is continuing. Maybe since it was my first review they automatically go for a full review? In the world we live in today I would agree for them to do that, even know it was very frustrating and literally ruined the holidays for me. I’m grateful that it is over, well for now I suppose and that everything is continuing. Total turn around was right around 3 months.
  2. I think mine went about as good as it can go, 'it's over' haha geese I hate those they ruin my home life for weeks. Now I just have to wait for the dang letter to arrive, who knows how long they'll keep me waiting for it?.. Hopefully yours went well? I will post my letter results as soon as I get it. Good luck to you and Happy Holidays.
  3. Thank you for the reply Navy04. It’s good to know that it’s more of a formality for the CDR full reviews. I think our age probably triggers an automatic full review. I’m 33. I get so frustrated with all these reviews, one of main diagnoses is Agoraphobia. Go figure right!? At any rate I’m sure I’ll be a hot mess in the review there’s no faking what I have. I’d just hate to get someone who is just pushing paper and doesn’t care. I know Social Security is just as bad if not worse with medical records as the VA. That really concerns me. I will post an update on how it goes. Thanks!
  4. I've been on SSDI for 3 years. And rated TDIU P&T for 2 1/2 years. I received the long form CDR about 2 weeks ago and I'm scheduled for a Mental exam this coming Friday. My adjudicator seems like a real sour person. She wont return voicemails or even answer the phone the last 4 days. Last I spoke with her she said she got little to no records of my treatment in the last year. I gave permission for them to collect all my information and even attached my TDIU P&T award letter. I'm not looking forward to the exam, its the same person who did my first exam on my SSDI claim that was denied. Not sure if he had anything to do with it or not. All I know is I've continued treatment and my conditions have only gotten manageable to an extent due to the fact I'm not working, but its still a continuing struggle to keep it together. My questions are; Is this exam normal for someone who is unemployable and rated permanent and total? Is there anything I should be prepared for? What should I do if they deny my benefits? Thanks
  5. My C&P exam doc for TDUI had all my records and did a thorough review of my entire background. Something doesn't seem right. I hope you fight that! Good luck and never give up!
  6. Going through the same thing. I had to file a NOD. I did it through DAV same VSO who did my upgrade. Which is going to take 6mo to 1yr is what I was told.
  7. Lifting weights helps me a lot! Yoga. Sauna. Nature. Getting lost in a great fantasy.
  8. Thanks Shay! Hang in there! Hopefully you'll be done soon. Mine moved very quick after the C&P.
  9. every region/case is different. I just recently was awarded tdiu p&t with an already established 70% for ptsd. i'm in seattle. mine tdiu was approved days after ebenefits went into prep for decision. try calling your vso. check your va letters on ebenefits, in most cases they will be updated before it says complete. try not to let it tear you up.. you will know soon. and sounds like you will stay at 70% and have a very good chance for tdiu. To get 100% ptsd is very hard, basically you'd have to be institutionalized.
  10. I started my IU Feb 2014. Here is what the letter states; Entitlement to IU is granted because the claimant is unable to secure or follow a substantially gainful occupation as a result of SC disabilities. Entitlement to IU is granted effective Dec 8th 2013, the date following the last date of employment because the claim was received within one year. Your employer indicated you last worked Dec 7th 2013. I received retro for all 14 months. But the correct date of last employment is Jan 7th 2013. leaving a 11 month typo.
  11. Just received my letter.. So my retro was paid for the last date provided by my last employer.. But they put the wrong year date.. They put DEC 2013, when it was really Jan 2013. Which leaves almost 1 whole year of unpaid retro if I get this changed. Should I get this info changed? I know my previous employer would re submit the documents. How would I even go about this..?
  12. There's just that one year 2013 I had no income. But hey I just received retro this morning via direct deposit, and I'm a happy man to even get the one year retro! :) Thanks everyone!
  13. Received retro via direct deposit before letter 3/13/2015 3 days after ebenefits moved to complete! Happy man here! Thanks everyone.
  14. I have been awarded TDIU and P&T found out on ebenefits 3/10/2015. I have not received retro or package yet. What i'm wondering is.. I got out of the Army FEB 2008 started my claim as I was out processing. During my first c&p exams the doc even ask if I wanted 100% and told me if I did I couldn't work, so of course I said no being 23 and hopeful that getting out would better or ease my PTSD. (I was awarded 70% effective at end of service date.) Well it did not. I did find some jobs on and off. The last job I had even let me go on an FMLA because of my issues and wrote a letter for me as well. That was JAN 2013. I didn't no anything about TDIU. It took a long year of a complete living nightmare (can't believe I'm still alive) to get my sh*t together enough to get into the DAV, that is when my TDIU new claim was started FEB 2014. **Can there be a possible way of furthering my retro because my SC's are the same as when I got out and rated? If anyone gets what I'm saying.. I'm bad at writing and trying to explain this.
  15. Hi Leon, First thing I did was go to my local DAV. My sponsor was very helpful, he set me up with a VA paid therapist who I started to see one a month to get things on paper. Establishing the paper trail is key to anything with the VA, even know for some of us it is extremely hard to even get out and do that.. You just have to. She then wrote a letter after reviewing my records and seeing me for 4 months/sessions. This letter is key. Keep seeing your therapist it helps for you and shows your trying to help yourself. There is a form you need to get for your last employer to fill out, (ask your VSO) stating why you were let go or reasons why you no longer work there. Get letters from coworkers! Get letters from family friends! Get as much as you can. Make sure they say things on why they think your unable to hold a job/maintain gainful employment. Get your ssdi started! Do not work. A year of being unemployed will benefit you. And if your going for IU then you shouldn't be working anyway. mine when through in 5 months! Which will help with your VA decision as long as it's from service connected disabilities. I got a lawyer for ssdi, even know you don't need one they should help with getting you on the right track. I used youtube and these forums a lot to answer and do my claims right. Bottom line have the proof to show your unable to work. You have the same thing going as I did since your all ready 70% this will help. I would file for and increase (which is hard to get) and TDIU. Or even just TDIU. The more little petty claims you put in the longer it will take. Try your hardest to get as many letters as you can! Hope this helps!
  16. Thanks Carlie. I think I'll need to start a new topic.. Because I have no idea how to go about getting an ID card, Dental, stuff like that..
  17. Well seems the waiting game has came to and end. Started my TDIU claim 02/14 with a 70% PTSD all ready est. Just seen in ebenefits I'm complete 70% paid @ 100% TDIU P&T. Phase was in gathering of evidence the whole time tell this last Saturday 3/7/15 Moved to complete 03/10/15 So don't let Ebenifts drag you down..:) Thank you for all the support here! I hope I can help pay it forward. Ask me anything you'd like I'll share everything I can that helped me alone the way.
  18. Just comes with the job, most of the time we could not hear quadrant/deflection with earplugs in, so most of us relied on fingers as well, even know we were 'quote issued hearing protection'.. Not to mention most of us gun bunnies were playing infantry in the sandbox after 2003 while door to door m4's going off didn't feel nice to the ears either. 13b's Steel Rain!
  19. Carlie, Thanks for writing that:) I forgot to mention how much therapy has helped me as well. Though it did take a while to find the right one. I managed to find one that really has helped me move forward and learn to live with the mental health issues. On that note to all that are reading this and feel like they cannot find a therapist that cares or helps you, keep on looking they are out there!
  20. Been on tons of meds since 2004. The best medication for me was and is, lots of exercise weight training, and eating a healthy well balanced diet. Figured out what vitamins my body was missing through a simple blood test and got those vitamins and minerals through supplementation. Also quit drinking/smoking and limit coffee intake. Best I've ever felt, but still far from normal. For me the side effects of anti depressants/psychotics and sleeping meds were far to much to handle. Now I stick to Propranolol 20mg which is used to treat stage fright, not classed as a SSRI's, was first used to treat high blood pressure. And melatonin over the counter for those really sleepless nights. Good luck to you. I hope you find something that makes life easier and more enjoyable.
  21. georgiapapa Thank you! I didn't know that, great information.
  22. Finally my claim has moved to the preparation for decision phase! Anybody know how long this phase usually takes? My vso has been extremely hard to reach, and I've been in the dark for quite sometime now. Thank you!
  23. I can get on to ebenefits... But not into claim status..
