  1. Thanks for the info. I have this case study printed out. Looking for as much info as possible. I will check the site you mentioned, thanks!
  2. Thanks Pete! I sent results from sleep study done by a civilian doc along with other medical records fron my ENT and other evidence from Navy. VA called to notify me of C&P exam for sleep apnea and also told me to bring all my evidence regardless of whether or not I already sent it in. Be nice to know results of other items though! Just wasn't sure if VA would split the results or not. Appreciate the info!
  3. My status went to "Notification of Decision" and said I had a letter of notification sent but then the VA called and scheduled a C&P for my sleep apnea and my status changed back to "Gathering of Evidence". Not sure if letter will be sent for result of other items on claim or if VA will hold that letter until my last C&P is done. Anyone have any idea about that?
  4. Well, wonder no more! Just as soon as my status changed to Preparation for Notification this morning, it has now changed back to Gathering of Evidence! LOL! I guess part of my claim has already been ruled one and the one part that remains (Sleep Apnea) reset things back to Gathering of Evidence. I imagine that once my final C&P is done things will quickly be resolved and I will have a decision. What an interesting process. It changes more quickly than the weather.
  5. still have a C&P exam scheduled? Since February 19 (date of last C&P exam), my status has moved from Gathering of Evidence to Preparation of Notification (this morning) but the VA called yesterday to schedule a C&P exam for March 16 for my sleep apnea claim. How can they wrap this up while I have an exam scheduled? I know they can split up the claim when you have multiple items on it but how can they reach a decision without all the exams complete and information gathered?
  6. Ok, a follow up. The lady from the VA who called to set this up called back to change my appt time. I asked her more about it and just as suggested, it is actually a C&P for sleep apnea. So that makes a bit more sense. She said it was with the same guy who did my hip C&P exam. That is fine. He was a good guy and I can take all my evidence and just lay it all out. No worries. Doesn't mean I will get it, but I am ready to present my case. Does that mean I could hear a decision on some conditions before others or does it all come down together in one decision? Thanks for the replies
  7. I just got a call from the VA this morning about another appt on March 20 about my claim. She said it was a "review" of my claim. Not sure what else they want/need to talk about. I noticed that my status in eBenefits for my claim went to "Pending Decision Approval" this morning. Is it normal to have this appt with the VA to go over your claim at the end? I don't recall reading about this on this site but I haven't really gone looking for it either. I had a C&P exam for my hearing and tinnitus, knees/back, and hips. I also filed for Sleep Apnea but never had a C&P for it. The lady this morning told me to bring any paperwork I had for my Sleep Apnea claim even if I had already submitted it in the package (which I did). Is this meeting a normal part of the process? Is it a good or bad thing? Things have moved quickly since my last C&P and I am ready to see the results. Thanks for any info anyone can provide.
  8. "Gathering of Evidence" to "Preparation for Decision" by Tuesday Feb 24. Checked status on Monday and it was still "Gathering of Evidence" but apparently I jumped a step. Hope this means I hear something within the next month!
  9. Thanks for all the replies. I submitted a copy of my hearing test that the Navy performed when I was in sub school. I was tested by the VA in June '13 and received Hearing Aids. I was tested again for my C&P exam. They have something to compare to anyway with my original exam from my time in the Navy. Only time will tell. Just completed my last C&P exam this past week and now I wait for results. Examiner said Tennessee has been quick to turn cases around I could expect results sooner rather than later. Hope to hear in the next month. Glad to have the resources this site offers and so many other vets to share experiences with.
  10. Does that necessarily mean I will get rated for it if it is deemed to be service related? I have hearing test from sub school in my record that was submitted with claim. I separated in 1995 and have not worked in a loud environment or been subjected to loud noises since separation. I also have significant tinnitus. Hearing tests substantiated my tinnitus as well. I was on subs and believe the pressure and pressure changes along with various noises are to blame. Anyway, does having enough hearing loss to require the use of hearing aids necessarily mean I will be rated for hearing loss? I feel like I will probably get rated for tinnitus. Just not sure how significant hearing loss has to be before you get rated for it assuming it is deemed to be service related.
