  1. Once my claim was decided, I received my BBE after a couple weeks. In the meantime I printed all available letters from ebenefits. They should update over a couple days, depending on your rating. V/r Detel
  2. Nick, I am sorry to hear of your current situation. Unfortunately I have no knowledge of that area for representation. I am positive that there will be some good suggestions on here. There is a good group of individuals, who will help in any way they can. Stay positive, and the community should be able to assist you. V/r Detel
  3. I would think that they are two separate processes.
  4. Rootbeer, I am happy to hear your good news! I am still curious how the numbers/statistics are adding up for recent claims completed, as far as accuracy and fair ratings go. Are you still compiling these numbers? V/r Detel
  5. You can figure out your retro pay quite easily. Simply take the number provided in your letter section and multiply it by the number of whole months following your separation/retirement to get your total retro. Keep in mind that you will get paid following the completed month (ie May gets paid out in June). Let me know if you have any other questions. V/r Detel
  6. The Disabilities section should show your rating percentage, and it is quite possible that you will receive your retro before the arrival of the BBE. That was the case for me, as bassrunnin1 said. I will keep my fingers crossed that you hear something today or tomorrow. At the very least I would hope that you know by the end of the week. Also, keep in mind that normal payments arrive after the completion of a month (ie June is paid out in July). V/r Detel
  7. My vote would be for a giant group hug. Everyone likes hugs.
  8. My understanding is that the VA will reimburse costs you paid for work, if a condition is found to be s/c.
  9. Navy4life, I am not a fan. I am going to start doing a decision dance for you. If it works for rain, then it could work for the VA. V/r Detel
  10. I enjoy reading the positive outcomes! Thank you for the uplifting story. V/r Detel
  11. Navy4Life, this link will give you the information for contacting FBCH (Fort Belvoir Community Hospital), which is the new hospital located on Fort Belvoir. My records were kept there as well. I would start with contacting them. http://www.fbch.capmed.mil/Patients/administration.aspx In case the link isn't working their contact information is: Medical Records: (571) 231-3774 Option 1 for Outpatient Records Option 2 for Release of Information Medical Records Fax: (571) 231-3692 Bethesda's info is: http://www.wrnmmc.capmed.mil/PatientVisitors/SitePages/PatientSupport/MedicalRecords.aspx Correspondence/Release of Information Main: (301) 400-3075 Fax: (301) 400-1910 Outpatient medical records Main: (301) 295-5150 Fax: (301) 295-6002 Active Duty Military Health Records Main: (301) 295-0644 Fax: (301) 295-1681 Location: Building 7, Floor 2, Room 2600 Inpatient Record Administration Main: (301) 295-5709 Location: Building 10, Floor 1, Room 1123 Hours of Operation Monday thru Friday 0700 - 1700 Hopefully this can help to get you started with tracking down your missing records. Also, Fort Belvoir should be able to pull up any information from Bethesda. I hope to hear positive results from you soon! V/r Detel
  12. MarkInTexas, I wouldn't put too much stock into the date shown on ebenefits. Those dates are auto-generated and are rarely correct. V/r Detel
  13. Seejeremy, your enrollment in VA Healthcare should be automatic. I would suggest that you check under the VA Documents/Letters section of ebenefits. There should be letters for your enrollment, coverage satisfying minimal coverage required by law, prescription medications, etc. Regarding your VHIC, you simply need to visit your local VAMC. I did this yesterday. They were able to pull up my information and take the required photograph. I was told that the VHIC will be delivered to my home in approximately two weeks. You will need two forms of ID, the list of which is appropriate can be found online. Your Driver's license and birth certificate and/or passport will suffice. That is exactly what I took with me. I hope that I answered all of your questions to your satisfaction. Please let me know if you have any others. V/r Detel
  14. Capt.Contaminate, thank you for the detailed explanation. As my first claim was recently completed, I will be requesting a copy of my c-file, which I belive is now delivered on disc. If I should run into any issues or learn of some new process, I will be sure to post it on hadit. Thank you again for the information! V/r Detel
  15. Rocket1949, that is awesome news! Congratulations! I am heading to my local VAMC today to get my VHIC. I will let you know if there are any issues. Again, congrats and welcome to the 70 Percent Club! V/r Detel
  16. Navy4Life, that is excellent news! I am hoping for some news later today or tomorrow. My understanding is that this will be a quick step. I look forward to hearing your outcome shortly! V/r Detel
  17. My understanding is that the notes from one's C&P exam(s) would be visible on that site, if the exams were performed by the VA. If the exams were contracted out, then the results will not be available until after a decision is reached on one's claim. Hopefully that is clear. V/r Detel
  18. Well, my first claim just recently completed. I received 70% s/c. I don't know that there is much of a point to argue hearing loss. I don't believe that getting a 0% will help me in any way. Just my thoughts. V/r Detel
  19. Yeah, that would be a nice chunk of change to get back. I wish my hearing loss was rated as such, but unfortunately that's the one item the VA decided was not service connected. I hope that you have better luck. V/r Detel
  20. That's awesome news, Navy4life! You may want to check again today and tomorrow. This can be a quick step. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. V/r Detel
  21. I wish you a swift recovery. Also, I hope that the surgery helps you feel better. V/r Detel
