  1. I was received a service connected disability rating for bilateral ankle instability back in 2007. Over the years I developed problems with both my knee and my hips. I seen an ortho specialist and he did x-rays and MRI’s to document the condition of my knees and hips. He also evaluated my knees and hips using VA Form 21-0960M-8 and 21-0960M-9. I submitted both VA forms, a “Statement in Support of Claim” with my x-ray and MRI results to my nearest VA regional center. The Ortho specialist mentioned during his evaluation that my knees were likely a result of my ankle instability but for my hips he mentioned the injury resulted from military service. I sent the ortho specialist a basic Nexus letter but he does know how to proceed and I have no experience with creating the letter. The doctor usually cites studies that support the veteran’s disability claim??? I have no idea where to start.. I am a first time user of this site I apologize if my post is off topic.
