As of Saturday the VARO letter came. Approve for 90%sc. I have been on SSD from 03. Worked Boiler rm. all my life till age 55 now 61. This is hot hard work. I filed for IU in 06 when I was 70%sc. VA turn down filed a NOD in 06. Now at 90%sc. I filed for VOC REHAB today to VAMC were I go to. If they turn me down. I will send the letter to the VARO in support of my NOD for IU. My health is not good. If they approve it I will go from there. Rated for Abestoes,DMII w/PN (ao), headackes,PTSD 30%,UD Any input would help me make a sleep better. I have been on SSD from 2oo3 and not worked the VA knows this. I filed frm the time I was at 70%sc. Now at 90%sc I just sent a letter to my POA (DVA) to check on the NOD for the IU. Now to take a nap. Goodnight LLFLY

Rudy, I have been reading all the Vet fourms for 3yrs. now. I use the DAV(POA). for the last 3+ years. I file my claims only to the VARO and then to the VSO only a copy. When the rater is done with the claim. At this time it is show to the VSO and He,She gets to sign off on the claim. As most know the VSO can not change the rating or the claim. Just to say they saw the claim and sign off on it ONLY. Rudy, I wish you all the best in life and with your claims. I do believe a letter needs to be sent to the DAV in Washington,DC. LLFLY

I have now filled a new claim for 6th,7th rib distroyed due to renover of lower lob left lung nexus to sc abestosis. And 30% incress in FVC flow.. I posted this for everyone to know if you do not take and fill for ea. part of your sc claim (all nexuses). Most likley what you get appoved is only what you filled for. The DAV(POA) 1st filled for me. 1.Asbestosis 30% in 2003. 2.scar & muscle damage nexus 10% 2008. 3.new clain lower FVC% as for incress nexus to asbestosis from 30% to 60%. At VARO.2008 4.New clain for rib damage up to 10%-20%sc claim at VARO nexus to abestosis. 2008 This started at as one claim. Filed cliam on 11/28/07 for scar nexus to asbestosis status post- lobectomy. C&P 1/31/08 Rating Decision 2/9/08. 10%sc for scar. 9 days from C&P. Now that was fast. My 80%sc was based on 74.59%sc=80%. Now 80%sc based on 77.1% much better. I am still waiting on the FVC testing decision. Thank you all at Hadit and the VA,DAV,& all for your inputs on Hadit. Berta, I have a NOD in on the IU. I been spending time reading about your loss. GOD Bless you. The IU needed more info, The VARO has that at this time. I didn't give up the fight i NAM and I will never do that at this late in the game. Thanks all at hadit and you Berta. Larry L.

I had a left lower lobectomy 30%sc for asbestsis. My FVC of 2.67 liters,52% predicted. FEV-1 was 1.84 liters,48% predicted. FEV-1FVC ratio was 0.69. The patient was unable to do DLCO. I do believe this will change my rating of 30%sc to 60%sc also. The ? I have is this claim of mine was for muscle lost,& scarring. Is this rate able and how much could it be rated. Thank you for the help. Here is the C&P exam. report. Loss of muscle,scarring 28.6 x 1.0cm pain 10/10 to 6/10. and 6th rib destroyed by surgery. also is at least as likely as not due to (nexus) the fineings caused by asbetosis. If you other Vets have worked around asbestsis please have the VA check you for this. The crazy thing is I had no idea. I had asbestsis at all. LLFLY 80%sc. Nam VET 70. BT1 USN
